<p>
	Though I may eventually try my hand at Resto later, I want to learn Enhancement as my main, as it's the only other class besides Paladin I played on live, and Paladins are not only Alliance/exclusive here, but cannot really do anything other than healing, which is merely a secondary consideration for me. So Shaman it is.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I have a plan for it as far as talents and professions go. 32/19 Enhancement/Elemental is the talent spread I'm considering right now, with a focus on Storm Strike and Shock spells. For professions, I intend to start with Herbalism/Alchemy for both moneymaking and consumables as I level, then once I've made a decent stockpile of end-game consumables (Flask of Supreme Power, Healing/Mana/Rejuv potions, recommend me some other potions as well), I will drop Herbalism for Mining and gather all the materials I need to hit 300 Engineering in one go, then swap to Engineering for the grenades, Battle Chicken/Arcanite Dragonling and Death Ray (and all the other goodies it comes with).
</p>

<p>
	As I'm going for an Enhancement/melee DPS shaman this time, Orc is the race I'm opting for instead of my usual Tauren. Some questions regarding the class and Orc racials:
</p>

<p>
	-Does the 5% bonus to pet damage apply to Engineering pets like Battle Chicken/Arcanite Dragonling, or only Hunter/Warlock pets?
</p>

<p>
	-Besides Flask of Supreme Power/Distilled Wisdom, Health/Mana pots, what other potions are worth stockpiling before I drop Herbalism? Assume I will also be doing Resto healing on the side when asked to do it.
</p>

<p>
	-How desired are Enhancement Shamans in end-game content (I.E top 5-man dungeons and raids)?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'm spoiled by WotLK so readjusting to Classic is going to be a bit harrowing for me, but I'm going to do my best to at least get competent at it, and this class.

<p>
	I'm not new to WoW perse, but I am new to Classic and interested for the first time in getting into Healing, since I know it's in demand. I watched a couple of video guides on Shaman Healing last night, and boy was it a headache to process it all, from balancing Int/hSP/MP5 to the ridiculous amount of consumables you're expected to have. I'm also a Pally Tank main from the days of WotLK era, and I have to get into Warrior Tanking for Classic but don't know diddly squat about playing a Warrior in general.
</p>

<p>
	Are classes/raids really this complicated in Classic WoW, or is WotLK raiding just incredibly simple by comparison? Are Consumables really that crucial that you absolutely live and die by them? That you must have a fort knox worth of them at all times (I'm assuming tens of thousands of gold worth)? Would I be better off Druid Healing, or is that even harder?
</p>

<p>
	In some way I feel like WotLK spoiled me as a player coming into Classic, and I can adapt to change and alter my mindset accordingly, but I need to know what preconceptions and snobbish expectations I need to purge transferring from WotLK to Classic as I reinvent myself into a Classic player.

	Playing a shaman, I stopped at a class task shaman called Call of Fire (which opens access to fire totems). Four times already after the cave, I have not received Reagent Pouch. Hey everyone!
</p>

<p>
	im a fairly new member of elysium and have really been dreaming about making a ench shaman since that was What i lvld back in vanilla - i didnt get to 60 tho, so my question is: Will I be able to gear at all? Will anyone bother inviting a Ench shaman to their raids?

<p>
	Gotten some questions lately on how I play enha shammy in raids, so made a little guide. <span class="ipsEmoji">😀</span> Feel free to ask and correct stuff. This is not a DPS guide, its a support build, The dps boost you give your group + your own dps is way above any other single dps.
</p>

<p>
	<u><strong><span style="font-size:20px;">Dahls’ Enha support guide </span></strong></u>
</p>

<p>
	<strong>So, your life is meaningless without windfury procs, but you still want to be useful in raids? </strong>
</p>

<p>
	Talents: <a href="https://classicdb.ch/?talent#hZxi0dVMutV0ez" rel="external nofollow">https://classicdb.ch/?talent#hZxi0dVMutV0ez</a> (Last 5 points can go anywhere, put them according to your playstyle)
</p>

<p>
	Talents summary: Totems mana cost reduction by 25%, Totems 30yd (+10), Hit +3%, Stoneskin Toten +20%, Cooldown grounding totem -2sec, Strength of earth totem +15%, Grace of air totem +15%, AP bonus of WF totem +30%, Flurry for 30% wweapon speed. This build only realy needs  0/22/14 with 15 points to spare.
</p>

<p>
	This build focuses on improved totems and melee uptime. I use <a href="https://classicdb.ch/?item=19169" rel="external nofollow">Nightfall</a> for full raid support. It is NOT needed for this build, but is a good bonus. This axe is expensive, and I went a good time without it while still getting cheers from melee and ranged dps. All you need to do is keep the right totems up for any situation, auto attack and totem twisting.<br /><strong>DPS group:</strong> Buffing your group with WF, Str, mana regen, poison/diseace removal and resistance totems so they top those meters <strong>by generating more rage and energy! </strong>(Remember to offheal that one rogue).<br /><strong>Tank groups:</strong> Helping tanks maintain more threat on untauntable bosses, defence against giant packs of small mobs with defenceive and resistance and grounding totem spam on div bosses.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:18px;">What is totem twisting? </span>
</p>

<p>
	Cast WF totem (9 sec buff)<br />
	Cast Agi totem (WF buff on 8 sec now)<br />
	After 8 sec repeat.
</p>

<p>
	Now your melee group have 100% uptime on WF, 90% uptime on Agi totem and you got 7 sec to cast str totems, shocks (If good on mana) and stormstrike etc.<br /><br />
	My rotation usually: WF totem &gt; Agi totem &gt; Str totem &gt; STORMSTRIKE!*&gt; Frost shock &gt; Searing totem &gt; Mana spring totem &gt; (WF totem &gt; Agi totem &gt; Frost shock &gt; STORMSTRIKE!* &gt; Frost shock) &lt;- Repeat until boss is dead, I stop using Frost shock if I go under 25% mana.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	Totem twist and use abilities on cooldown, have a rank 1 earth shock ready for interrupts and witch your mana. Prio 1 is totem twisting.<br />
	(* depends, takes up a debuf slot. Good opener)
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:18px;">Good to have Gear: </span>
</p>

<p>
	Anything with +hit. Hit &gt; Anything else.<br /><strong>Hand of justice:</strong> <a href="https://classicdb.ch/?item=11815" rel="external nofollow">https://classicdb.ch/?item=11815</a> More WF (and nightfall) procs.<br /><strong>Nightfall:</strong> <a href="https://classicdb.ch/?item=19169" rel="external nofollow">https://classicdb.ch/?item=19169</a> For full raid support! Expensive tho.<br />
	After getting hit capped, go for Crit/agi, Str/AP, Int and MP5. As enha you don't need any tiers, go for Mail/leather drops outside the Tiers.(edited)
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:18px;">Consumables for Raids: </span>
</p>

<p>
	10x Elixir of the Mongoose (Or the cheaper 10x Elixir of Greater Agility)<br />
	15x JuJu Power                  (Or 10x Elixir of Giants)<br />
	20x JuJu Might                  (Or 20x Winterspring Firewater)<br />
	1x Spirit of Zanza               (ZG Revered, buy one, use it, buy another to bring)<br />
	1x Flask of the Titans         (Not needed, but ,makes it easier for healers)<br />
	20x Smoked Desert Dumplings (Or the cheaper 20x Tender Wolf Steak)
</p>

<p>
	20x Runecloth Bandage (Emergency OOM and potion-on-cooldown healing)<br />
	10x Major Healing Potion<br />
	10x Major Mana Potion
</p>

<p>
	5x Greater Fire Protection Potion          (MC, Onyxia and some BWL)<br />
	5x Greater Shadow Protection Potion   (BWL)<br />
	5x Restorative Potion                          (MC and BWL)
</p>

<p>
	Not all these are needed for every raid, but I always bring Elixir of Mongoose, Giants and firewater. Consumables are needed to fill some of the gap enha lacks in dmg, enha aint a top tier raider to begin with, but be dedicated by bringing consumables.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:18px;">Enchants </span>(These are focused around Nightfall)

<p>
	With the lack of /castsequence macro command in Vanilla, it's very difficult to make a 1-button totem placement macro (without annoying shift/ctrl/alt mods, that is). However, an addon called "Call of Elements" solves this.
</p>

<p>
	You can download it here: <a href="http://www.vanilla-addons.com/dls/callofelements/" rel="external nofollow">http://www.vanilla-addons.com/dls/callofelements/</a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Call of Elements is, mostly, a totem timer / placement addon. It displays four totem icons that you can click to summon totems, and if you hover over the icons, it will pop up a little list of all the totems you can place from that element. (which are also clickable, to place those totems!) The icons also show timers for those totems.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="f333ccce8d.png" class="ipsImage" src="https://puu.sh/tkXX9/f333ccce8d.png" /></p>

<p>
	To move the icons around, simply click and drag them wherever you want. They start off in a square pattern, but as you see above, I moved them all next to each other. Once you're done moving them, go into the menu (with /coe) and check the "Fix totem bar positions" box, to lock them.
</p>

<p>
	There is also a "Configure Totems" button, which allows you to set which totems you want to appear in the pop-up menus. Click to select / de-select. The "Configure Order" lets you set which order the totems appear in, within the pop-up menu. Down at the bottom, you can set which direction the pop-up menu shows up from, as well as "Bar Mode", which lets you hide the totem buttons, or make the pop-up menu always stay open or closed. "Flex" is the default setting, which makes the pop-up menu appear when you mouse over the totem icon.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	It also has a secondary function: Totem Sets. This is what allows you to place all of your totems with a single keybind. It works the same as the /castsequence macros, allowing you to press the button once to summon the first totem, press it again to summon the second totem, etc, for all four totems.
</p>

<p>
	To configure a Totem Set, we'll first have to create one. In the CoE menu (use /coe), click the "Totem Sets" button, and on that menu, click the little text box, enter a name, and click "New Set".
</p>

<p>
	From here, click on "Configure Set". This will make all of the totem buttons appear. You'll notice that when you click on one of those totem buttons, a red outline will surround it. This is to indicate that the totem is part of your Totem Set. If you click on that totem again, it will be de-selected.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="02b10395f7.png" class="ipsImage" src="https://puu.sh/tkY9F/02b10395f7.png" /></p>

<p>
	You can also change the order in which the totems are placed, using the "Cast Order" area at the bottom of the Totem Set menu.
</p>

<p>
	After you're done setting which totems you want to use, click "OK". Now, go into your keybinding menu, scroll down to the bottom and look for the Call of Elements section.
</p>

<p>
	You will want to keybind "Throw the active totem set". This keybind, when pressed, will place the first totem in your Totem Set. Pressing it again will place the second totem, etc. It works exactly like the /castsequence macros from TBC and beyond.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	However, it works even better, because it intelligently checks to see if that totem is placed, and if you keep pressing the button, it will not place a totem unless that totem has expired. So at any given moment, you can just hit your keybind a few times to ensure that all of your totems are active. Rather nice.

<p>
	Another short class leveling guide, this time for Shaman. Never leveled a Shaman until Nost 2.0, but I did a whole heap of research and tried out different things for myself. These are my findings.
</p>

<p>
	Shaman is overall a pretty good leveling class. It's very versatile with both good melee attacks and great spells, as well as self-healing and a plethora of buff and utility totems. There's a reason why the old "That's the WoW that you play" song calls Shaman "the most overpowered class"!
</p>

<p>
	For leveling, you will want to go full Enhancement. I see lots of people claiming that Ele is good, but really, Ele does not even come close to Enhancement until level 40 or so, when you've got all of the useful talents for it. Even then, Enhancement is still faster, because you don't have to drink as often.
</p>

<p>
	Some people will tell you to start off Resto, going deep enough to get the 3% hit talent and then going Enhancement from there, but honestly, in my experience, the 3% hit did not make much of a visible difference, whereas Flurry and Elemental Weapons make a HUGE difference. I leveled 10-33 using the Resto+Enh spec, and at 34 I swapped to full Enh just to try it out, and it was immensely better. I didn't even notice the loss of 3% hit, and the loss of -5% mana cost on heals didn't affect my dungeon healing either. The -25% totem mana cost also doesn't matter much, since the only totem you use consistently while questing is Searing Totem, and it already has a very low mana cost.
</p>

<p>
	I've also heard people say that you should go Ele for Elemental Devastation, but....really, spell crit is incredibly hard to come by while leveling, and the spell crit talent in Ele only applies to Lightning spells. So Elemental Devastation is rarely going to proc unless you're using lightning spells all the time, which is going to run your mana down and force you to drink a lot.
</p>

<p>
	So yeah, I'd recommend just going full Enh from the start, then putting the rest of your points in Resto or Ele trees after 40. Either one works. Resto gives you slightly better healing and 3% hit and 30 yard totems, while Ele gives you mana cost reduction and damage increase to damage spells, a bit of a buff to Searing Totem, and Elemental Concentration. Either way, you're going to get a damage increase and a mana reduction, to some part of your spellbook. Personally, I would go towards Resto, as the 30yd totem range is amazing, and you get groups so much easier as a healer.
</p>

<p>
	Anyway, onto the guide.
</p>

<p>
	************<br />
	TALENT SPECS<br />
	************
</p>

<p>
	Shaman talents are pretty straightforward. Most of the talents are obvious and self-explanatory, for the most part.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Level 19:</strong></span> <a href="http://i.imgur.com/sT50igQ.png" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/sT50igQ.png</a><br />
	Ancestral Knowledge is better than Shield Spec, because that 5% mana will help you all the time, as opposed to shield spec only helping you when grinding, and that's only if you're using a shield. Imp Ghost Wolf makes Ghost Wolf so much better to use, no more having to sit there for 3 seconds and cast. Also makes it much more usable in combat, as it's much harder to get pushback on a 1-second cast. Rest of the points into Thundering Strikes.
</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Level 29:</span></strong> <a href="http://i.imgur.com/DjT1qJf.png" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/DjT1qJf.png</a><br />
	Finish off Thundering Strikes, and then get 2h Axes/Maces. The reason why I take Anticipation is because the other talents are pretty shit. Imp Lightning Shield doesn't provide that much of a damage increase, Guardian Totems is also crap, and so is Enhancing Totems. A rank 2 Strength of Earth totem will only get +3 strength from 2/2 Enhancing Totems. Rank 3 will get +5 strength. Rank 4 will get +9 strength. Tiny bonus to strength for 2 talent points? Yeah, no, fuck that. The dodge you get from Anticipation is much better.
</p>

<p>
	Also, Flurry! This talent is just fucking amazing with Windfury. Often times, one of your three Windfury attacks will be a crit, leading to easy Flurry procs.
</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Level 40:</span></strong> <a href="http://i.imgur.com/4GDbXwV.png" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/4GDbXwV.png</a><br />
	Parry is also a very nice talent, giving you that extra survivability, as well as parry-hasted attacks, great for slow 2-handers. Weapon Mastery and Stormstrike are obvious choices. Improved Weapon Totems is useless for solo leveling, as you only use weapon totems in groups. Even then, the bonus is not enough to justify 2 talent points.
</p>

<p>
	Level 40 (Resto): <a href="http://i.imgur.com/03F30kz.png" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/03F30kz.png</a><br />
	If you're going to heal a lot of dungeons, I'd recommend changing to Enh/Resto at 40, if only for the 30 yard radius on totems. It makes totem placement SO much easier, as you don't have to worry about running up close to melee range to place those Windfury totems, or making sure that Grace of Air is being applied to both melee and ranged. I swapped to this spec at 46, mostly because I was frustrated at the short totem range. Didn't really notice much of a decrease in damage, despite dropping Stormstrike and Weapon Mastery.
</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Level 60:</span></strong> <a href="http://i.imgur.com/Tssnyut.png" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/Tssnyut.png</a><br />
	Continue onward into the Elemental tree, picking up the damage and mana reduction talents, as well as the fire totem increase talent, since you're going to be using Searing Totem. Elemental Focus is also a really nice boon to your mana, and Elemental Devastation is pretty nice for when you get the occasional spell crit.
</p>

<p>
	Level 60 (Resto): <a href="http://i.imgur.com/jyA5yRU.png" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/jyA5yRU.png</a><br />
	Get the 3% hit talent first, and then finish up the Enhancement tree. After that, the last 6 points you can pretty much put wherever you want, based on what you'll be doing.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Though honestly, I would recommend speccing full Resto at 59, and just heal DM:E / BRD to 60. You can still quest just fine, but you're going to be doing these dungeons lot for gear, so you might as well get EXP for it. People might be reluctant to invite you to Strat/Scholo/DM West/DM North, but healing BRD and DM East should be no problem at 59, so long as you've been keeping your Int set up to date. I managed to heal Strat UD at 59 without wiping.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	If you REALLY want to level Elemental, however...
</p>

<div class="ipsSpoiler" data-ipsspoiler="">
	<div class="ipsSpoiler_header">
		<span>Spoiler</span>
	</div>

	<div class="ipsSpoiler_contents">
		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<br />
			While it's not exactly optimal, you CAN go Elemental, once you hit 39. At early levels, Ele is shit because Lightning Bolt has a 3 second cast time and you have no pushback resistance, and no reliable way to keep the mobs off you (and still cast, that is). Once you hit 40 however, you'll have the talents for a 2-second LB cast, with +6% crit chance, and +100% crit damage, making Elemental damage rather nice.
		</p>

		<p>
			I switched to Ele at 51 just to try it out, and found that it works pretty fuckin' good. Went ahead and just leveled to 60 as Ele, as a change of pace from Enhancement.
		</p>

		<p>
			Pros:<br />
			-Much faster kill speed<br />
			-Big crits, can burst things down really fast<br />
			-Don't have to worry about upgrading weapons, just train new spell ranks<br />
			-No having to carry around two sets of gear (agi for questing, int for healing), you can just wear your int set all the time
		</p>

		<p>
			Cons:<br />
			-Way more downtime, have to sit and drink every 3 or 4 mobs<br />
			-If you run out of mana, you have to run away unless the mob is low on health<br />
			-Spell damage is hard to come by, outside of crafted stuff like Dreamweave<br />
			-Very hard to kill mobs with high nature resist
		</p>

		<p>
			<br />
			Gameplay is very similar to Enhancement: Use fast dagger + Flametongue + shield, plop down your Searing Totem, and then pull the mob at max range with 3 Lightning Bolts, then Flame Shock, then melee the mob to death.
		</p>

		<p>
			If you get a Clearcasting proc, use Chain Lightning, as it does more damage than Lightning Bolt.
		</p>

		<p>
			Make sure to use Elemental Mastery. It's a nice damage CD and mana-saver. I always forget to use it, so I just macro'd it to Lightning Bolt. You can also save it if you want, and only use it for emergencies if you're OOM or something.
		</p>

<p>
	For the most part, your rotation on mobs will go:
</p>

<p>
	Pull with Flame Shock -&gt; Searing Totem -&gt; autoattack -&gt; Flame Shock again when debuff fades -&gt; autoattack until mob dead
</p>

<p>
	You can also use Lightning Shield in place of Flame Shock, as it is slightly more mana efficient in terms of damage per mana, past rank 2. Not a whole lot, but it adds up over time. And you can buff it long before combat.
</p>

<p>
	Once you get Stormstrike at 40 however, you should consider not using Flame Shock or Searing Totem anymore. Reason being that Stormstrike is so mana-intensive, that if you try to use it alongside Searing and Flame Shock, you'll burn right through your mana and be drinking every 3-4 mobs. Not fun.
</p>

<p>
	I found that with a decent amount of Spirit gear, I was able to use JUST Stormstrike, no totems, and go 10-12 mobs without having to drink. The killing was not that much slower (except for when getting fucked by bad RNG of no crits / no windfury), and I was saving tons of mana. But if you've got tons of mage water and don't mind drinking, go right ahead and use Lightning Shield as well. The +20% nature damage debuff from Stormstrike DOES affect Lightning Shield, but Lightning Shield does not consume charges of Stormstrike's debuff.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	***************<br />
	GEARING / STATS<br />
	***************
</p>

<p>
	For the most part, you'll want to be stacking Str/Stam/Agi. Strength will give you more melee attack power, Stam will give you more survivability, and most importantly, Agi will give you more crit (as well as more dodge)
</p>

<p>
	I've seen guides say that both Str and Agi are valuable, but IMO Agi is much better. Not only does it give you crit, but it also gives you dodge. With a Greater Agility elixir running (+25), I was rocking 15.5% crit and 13.2% dodge, at level 40. Pretty sweet.
</p>

<p>
	Intellect isn't bad either, can help to increase your time between drinks.
</p>

<p>
	Spirit is actually pretty nice for Shamans, as you're going to be spending a lot of time regen'ing while you autoattack. Don't go out of your way to get spirit gear, though, just...don't insta-vendor the piece if it has spirit on it. There's lots of good gear with Spirit, like Tanglewood Staff, or Polished Jazeraint Armor. Since most people are convinced that Spirit is a shit stat, blue gear with Spirit on it will sell for real cheap.
</p>

<p>
	So for the most part, all stats are good. Str/Agi for damage, Int/Spirit for more mana-longevity.
</p>

<p>
	==========================
</p>

<p>
	When it comes to weapons, you will want to start out using a fast Dagger (anything below 1.9 speed will work) and Flametongue, plus a shield of course. If you get a really good 2h weapon though, feel free to use it and Rockbiter.
</p>

<p>
	Once you hit 30 and get Windfury, you have the option of using 2h and Windfury, or continuing with daggers and Flametongue. People will claim that Windfury is better than Flametongue, or Flametongue is better than Windfury, but in my experience, it all boils down to whatever weapon you have. If your best weapon is a 2h, use Windfury. If your best weapon is a dagger, use Flametongue. On a PvP server though, you'll definitely want the extra survivability of a shield, so go with Flametongue the whole way.
</p>

<p>
	For 2h weapon speed, you don't want to go over 3.4; Windfury is not PPM-based, it is just a flat 20% chance to proc on every hit. So if you use a super slow weapon, you're going to have a really low Windfury proc chance, overall. Anything between 2.8 and 3.4 speed is fine. In PvP, you want a really slow weapon so you can potentially 2shot clothies; in leveling, you want a faster weapon for more consistent WF procs.
</p>

<p>
	Here's a list of notable weapons:

	</div>

	<div class="ipsSpoiler_contents">
		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			-Evocator's Blade: Level 18 BoE dagger. Really nice speed, and has a little chunk of Int on it. I snagged one for just 2g off the AH. If you're short on gold, you could pick up a Pearl-Handled Dagger instead.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Meteor Shard: Level 24 BoP dagger. Drops from last boss in SFK. Decent speed, nice damage, and the proc happens fairly often.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Vendetta: Level 26 BoE dagger. Absolutely sick 1.3 weapon speed, and +6 agility for some extra crit. I got one for about 5g off the AH, after frustrations of Meteor Shard not dropping. :P
		</p>

		<p>
			(You'll want to pick up a staff or 2h axe/mace before level 30, if you plan on using Windfury)
		</p>

		<p>
			-Rod of the Sleepwalker, 27 BoP from 2nd to last boss BFD<br />
			-Gnarled Ash Staff, 26 BoE<br />
			-Wind Spirit Staff, 27 BoP from rare boss in RFK
		</p>

		<p>
			-Loksey's Training Stick: Level 31 BoP staff, first boss SM Lib. Decent damage, but sadly the +60 AP against Beasts does not work at all. (tested it myself, after 30-40 kills, did not see any change in damage between Loksey's and Windreaver)
		</p>

		<p>
			-Windreaver Staff: Level 32 BoE staff. Good damage for questing, and a huge amount of int to help you heal dungeons. The arcane damage is useless though, and causes lots of people to sell this staff for cheap. I snagged one for 3g off the AH.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Black Duskwood Staff: Level 33 BoE staff. No stats, but it has a shadow bolt proc on it. Usually sells for cheap.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Illusionary Rod: Level 34 BoP staff, last boss SM Lib. Great damage and amazing stats, but it may be hard to get since literally every caster wants it. Try to get a group with as few casters as possible.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Hypnotic Blade: Level 34 BoP dagger, last boss SM Lib. Again, great damage and a nice chunk of int. Really nice Shaman weapon.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Ravager: Level 37 BoP 2h Axe, Last boss of SM Armory. It has great damage, but no stats, and the proc is...wonky, to say the least. It doesn't seem to work properly on Nost/Elysium, in that while you are channeling Bladestorm, it only does TWO hits, instead of the three that it is supposed to. Furthermore, these hits from the proc DO NOT proc Windfury or Flurry. Which makes it kind of bad for Enhancement. However, if you use a macro "/unbuff Bladestorm", and hit that macro right after the first Bladestorm hit lands, you will immediately do a melee attack after canceling the channel. Pretty nice, I guess. Warriors will not take this weapon unless their current weapon is shit, because they'll already have WW Axe which is better.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Coldrage Dagger: Level 39 BoP dagger, last boss RFD. Sick weapon speed and a nice slowing proc that seems to proc pretty often.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Tanglewood Staff: Level 41 BoE staff. Has better damage than Ravager, as well as a huge chunk of Spirit, and some strength. I picked this up for 8g off the AH, simply because I was tired of having to fuck around with the Bladestorm proc. It also has +14 Nature damage on it, so...small bonus to Lightning Bolt / Earth Shock / Lightning Shield. Solid Shaman weapon.
		</p>

		<p>
			-The Chief's Enforcer:Level 45 BoP staff. Drops in ZF, from the Chief. No stats, but good damage, and it seems to drop very often. The stun proc is pretty nice, but only really useful in PvP. The stun can proc off of Windfury attacks, as well. It procs once per mob, on average. Seems to have no ICD, as I've seen it proc 3 times on a single mob.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Searing Needle: Level 46 BoE dagger. A bit high on weapon speed, but the fire damage debuff proc is really nice, since you're using Searing Totem and Flame Shock.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Princess Theradras' Scepter: BoP level 49 2h mace, last boss in Mara. Again, no stats and the proc is kinda meh, but it's a nice upgrade from the previous weapon.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Charstone Dirk: Level 49 BoP dagger, last boss in Mara. Nice intellect and some mp5 as well. This can serve quite well as a healing weapon, before you get Hammer of Grace in BRD.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Waveslicer: Level 53 BoP 2h axe. Drops from Hydrospawn in DM:E. Nice speed, huge strength bonus, and a lovely 1% crit to top it all off. Very solid leveling weapon; this will likely be your weapon until 60. However, it can be very tough to find a group for DM East before level 60. Many people only do DM:E for jump runs, which require you to be level 60 so you can skip lots of trash.

	****<br />
	TIPS<br />
	****
</p>

<p>
	If you need to pull one mob out of a group of 3+ mobs, use Lightning Bolt and then start running. The mob you damaged will have a slightly longer leash range than the other mobs, so just keep running until the other mobs reset, and then run up to the mob that you attacked. It takes a bit of practice to get a feel for the leash ranges, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to do it pretty easily.
</p>

<p>
	Use Rank 1 of Earth Shock for interrupts, to save mana. Use max rank for damage, if you need to catch a fleeing mob before it pulls other mobs, or burn down a mob really quickly.
</p>

<p>
	If there are a lot of mobs in a small area and you're going to kill all of them, put down Strength of Earth and Grace of Air, and pull the mobs within range of those totems. Either through Lightning Bolt, or just backing up towards your totems as you melee the mob.
</p>

<p>
	Front-load all of your casting before a pull, so you can maximize regen time. Cast your totem(s), Lightning Shield and/or Flame Shock as soon as possible after each other, so you can spend as much time as possible outside the 5-second rule.
</p>

<p>
	Before you go out questing, ask around for some mage water. It'll save you a lot of money in the long run.
</p>

<p>
	Lots of elite quests can be soloed, albeit somewhat slowly. With clever use of Frost Shock / Earthbind, you can kite a single elite around in circles, while your Searing Totem slowly melts it. With a little practice, you can use Flame Shock, while Earthbind slows the mob over and over. Just run in circles so that the elite keeps walking near the Earthbind, and you're good. I wouldn't recommend doing this for quests that require you to kill lots of elites, as it takes a good 3-4 minutes to kill one elite, and you need a good bit of space to kite around. This is mainly useful for quests that only require you to kill a single elite, such as Raptor Mastery(Tethis), or Excelsior(elite croc).
</p>

<p>
	If you can get consumables for cheap, go right ahead. I found that potions were always really cheap, up until Superior level. Even things like Greater Mana Potion, I was buying them for 5-8 silver each. Also, I'd recommend using Agility elixirs, as the extra crit is really nice, and they're usually pretty cheap. These elixirs DO NOT STACK with Grace of Air, but they do give you the convenience (and mana savings) of not having to put down Grace of Air totems all the time. So you can pick between "more agility" or "not having to put down agi totem all the time". I personally use the totem, so that I don't have to buy elixirs, saving money and bag space.

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">1.       Introduction to Guide</span></strong></span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Hello, my name is Totemtank from the guild &lt;Famalam&gt;. This Guide is for shamans who want to tank and players who intend on grouping with them. I’m writing this guide having tanked all 5 and 10 man dungeons pre-raid. The most significant variable working against your success as a Shaman Tank is the other player’s attitudes toward your spec/role. </span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<em><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><strong>Your mitigation will never be as good as a warrior. Your threat can be better. Your utility can be better.</strong></span></em>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Why do I play a Shaman Tank? For me it’s because there are never enough tanks for 5/10 man dungeons. I’m providing a service to my guild and other players by solving the need for tanks. It’s that simple, anyone who gives you shit about tanking 5 and 10 man dungeons is bad, ignore them. I fully intend on respecing Restoration once my guild is ready to raid. However, before that happens my guild must gear up 40 players in blue dungeon gear. So should I spec resto and wait with my group 30+ minutes for a tank? No.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">No, I’m not trying to prove the Shaman is a ‘viable’ raid tank (subjective). If you’re of the mindset that Shamans can’t tank <strong>raids</strong> then great, you’re right, move on. This guide is <strong>not for raid tanking,</strong> even then it would be off-tanking trash for lulz.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Still here? Ok good, because shamans can tank everything pre-raid with ease.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">2.       Strength / Weaknesses</span></strong></span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">a.       Strengths:</span></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">1. High avoidance; about 26% dodge, 8% parry, 15% block in blue-BIS dungeon/ BOE defense gear.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">2. High threat on the pull, on multiple mobs. Chain Lightning / Earth shock / Lightning shield.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<font face="Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif">3. Short cool-down interrupt, control over enemy spell casters with totems.</font>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">4. Much higher damage than Protection Warriors, on par or above Feral Druids. With AOE Fire totem, your damage is absurd.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">b.       Weaknesses:</span></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">1. Lack of raid tank gear. This alone prevents shamans from being raid tanks.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">2. Lack of taunt. This hurts, but since you’re not tanking raids doesn’t matter.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">3. High mana cost spells. This limits only your damage output, threat is fine.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">4. Shamans are not META tanks, players will complain. Let them complain alone.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">3.       Talent Specs:</span></strong></span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">a. The <strong>defensive </strong>tank spec, overall best spec for tanking dungeons and nothing else:</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><a href="http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#hxcZVV00ExuZV0ez" rel="external nofollow">http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#hxcZVV00ExuZV0ez</a></span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">b. The <strong>2H off-tank</strong> spec, brings nightfall and improved WF/Strength totem to the raid:</span>
</p>

<p>
	<a href="http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#hZVi0dEMutV0ez" rel="external nofollow">http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#hZVi0dEMutV0ez</a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:18px;">DPS / Tank hybrid "Chain Reaction Spec" :</span>
</p>

<p>
	<a href="http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#hxcuVshqZVV00E0z" rel="external nofollow">http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#hxcuVshqZVV00E0z</a>
</p>

<p>
	*Note* On the hybrid spec you would gear: Stam &gt; Intellect &gt; Defense &gt; Avoidance (includes agility) &gt; Spell Crit
</p>

<p>
	The idea of the hybrid dungeon spec is for farming dungeons with a strong healer. Try this spec when you overgear / overlevel the dungeon's you're running. Your damage will be awesome spamming fire nova, chain lightning and magma totem. *TIP* you can /sit to get crit while tanking trash, you take one crit for 6 seconds of casting. You can make a macro for "/sit" and press it when you want to drop a chain lightning. Those chain lightning crits will boost melee crit, which gives you flurry, which increase your rockbiter threat. NICE!
</p>

<p>
	You sacrifice some avoidance and health for a LOT more damage. Your fire totems are very powerful and should be used often, to support that you need a large mana pool. Elemental devastation will not proc from totem spell crits, only shocks/lightning. However, eye of the storm will allow you to chain lightning while tanking (you get crit when tanking multiple mobs and lower defense gear). You can also drop a couple heals, as shaman healing threat is 100% not 50% works really well with a high mana pool. Note you do not care that much about your auto-attack white damage, you only care about increasing the NUMBER OF SWINGS for rockbiter. Your rockbiter threat scales from crits into flurry and nothing else. Thus by gearing as a caster you're not really missing out on threat from increased auto attack damage; Strenght and AP are bad stats.
</p>

<p>
	tl;dr this spec 'double-dips' on spell crit by giving high threat from spell crits (from the higher damage) and high threat from the increased attack speed on rockbiter.
</p>

<p>
	Get a comfortable amount of stamina and defense and go hard on spell crit for fast 5 man dungeon runs. Your healer must be ready for some big damage though!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">4.       Rotation: I’m going to break this down into 3 different phases.</span></strong></span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">a.       Phase 1: The pull</span></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Before pulling drop your totems (I use Stoneskin, Agility, Mana and sometimes Frost or Fire Resistance).</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Make sure Rockbiter Weapon is applied to your weapon and has 2+ minutes left.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Have at least half of your mana for shocks. The more the better.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Target the first mob to be killed and cast Chain Lightning. Follow that up with a Rank 5 (-2 levels) Earth Shock on first kill target.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">b.       Phase 2: Sustaining Agro</span></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">You already pulled with Chain Lightning (or Lightning Bolt if one mob) and Earth Shock, good.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Always, always, ALWAYS be auto-attacking. Do not be that guy who doesn’t attack the mob right in front of him because he can’t it.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Lastly, spam down ranked Earth Shock (rank 5 at level 60) until your run out of mana. You can always R1 Earth Shock to interrupt if necessary.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">c.       Phase 3: Someone pulled agro off you!</span></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">The boss is chasing after a DPS who pulled agro, what do I do? Find better DPS, short of that use max rank Earth Shock. If the DPS dies he probably messed up. Laugh it off, flatter his ego, or simply call him a cuck. Do what you want. It’s not your fault; warrior tanks lose agro all the time.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Some bosses will drop agro, when they do use max rank Earth Shock. Under 90% of the cases not involving a warlock the DPS can shed agro somehow (Vanish, Feign Death, Ice block, etc). Let them play their class to its full potential.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">Your job as a tank is not to tank 100% of the targets 100% of the time. It’s to ensure the success of the party be managing the damage output of the mobs. On most pulls, I will mark a kill target (skull) and simply IGNORE THAT MOB. The DPS will destroy it before anyone is seriously injured, meanwhile I have tons of threat on the rest of the mobs. DPS love to go all out right at the start of the pull, this is how they can do that.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">d.       How your threat works:</span></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><strong><em>Rockbiter Weapon</em></strong> adds threat to your weapon at 74 x Base weapon speed per attack. This means weapon speed doesn’t matter, but haste (flurry) does. Melee crit is the best weapon to improve your threat.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><em><strong>Earth Shock</strong></em> does 2 x Damage Dealt as threat. If your shock hits for 100, you do 200 points of threat. A rank 5 Earth Shock is about 500 threat. A rank 7 about 1,000.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><strong>*TIP* </strong>Rank 1 Earth Shock is an interrupt. Rank 5 Earth Shock is your ‘Sunder Armor’. Rank 7 Earth Shock is your ‘Taunt’. Treat them as such and everything will work out great. In fact, I even made macros to show the warrior ability icons on my action bars.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>5.       Gearing up your Shaman Tank:</strong></span></span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">a.       My preferred stats are as follows (in order of importance):</span></strong>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">1. <em><strong>Stamina</strong></em>: Eventually we all get hit, you need to survive it while heals are casting.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">2. <em><strong>Defense</strong></em>: Helps avoid and mitigate damage. A great stat but hard to find!</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">3. <em><strong>Dodge, Parry, or Agility</strong></em>: Less healer mana used, less Mortal Strikes etc. About 20 Agility is one percent dodge and one percent crit and 2 armor. Crit is amazing for our threat, agility is a very good stat and much better than strength.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">4. <em><strong>Spell hit or Melee hit</strong></em>. Mainly for increasing threat and interrupting spells.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">My current stats are (with agility totem): 4231 Health, 5539 Armor, 24.85% dodge, 5.40% parry, 12.40% Block and about 65 block value. I’m not in full pre-raid best in slot blue tanking gear, there are still many upgrades out there in 5/10 man dungeons. I expect my stats to increase quite a bit more.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;">My threat is about 250-300 per second sustained. It can be much higher for a short fight (higher rank Earth Shocks). Just auto attacking is about 175 threat per second. You can get away with auto attack tanking in a lot of pugs. More gear = more threat. DPS in full raid gear sometimes pull agro.</span>

<p>
	*Note* Some of these are up for debate, some people will prefer higher stamina, others higher avoidance. It depends on your healer IMO. As a rule of thumb, if my healer uses heal-over-times (HOTS) I prefer AVOIDANCE. If my healer is spamming down-ranked heals all the time, I prefer STAMINA (to avoid overhealing).

<p>
	Ghost wolf is a 3 sec uninterrupted cast time. The talents with 2/2 are supposed to reduce the cast time by 2 secs (creating a 1 sec cast time). At first I figured maybe i just remembered it to be faster than it actually was. However, I have done over 100 uninterrupted cast tests with a stop watch &amp; everytime the cast takes an avg of 2.2 secs...
</p>

<p>
	So, I logged back onto my retail acct &amp; did the same "stop watch" test.. my assumption was correct. The average time on retail clocked in at 1.3 secs.
</p>

<p>
	Btw, I played an Enh-shaman for almost 13yrs from Van-Cata (actively). After Cata most of my guild disband so i still currently only play on a casual basis for retail. After playing a class for that long you kinda get used to how long skills take to cast (which was why I questioned the timing in the 1st place). Please check into this as, the talents only seem to be calculating as if it were 1 out of 2 points in improved ghost wolf.
</p>

<p>
	thanks

<p>
	why is this? Its common sense, you hear it in all the songs and so on.
</p>

<p>
	Enh with Windfuryproc in pvp are really nice but rely to much on luck.<br />
	Healing in pve is good but nothing special.<br />
	Ele is .. okay.

<p>
	Now tell me what it is. Or is it just a joke i dont get?<br />

	So yesterday I was finishing up my call of water quest for my water totem. I got to the last part where you need to talk to the minor manifestation of water and the server crashed. When it came back up he was not there. So I talked to Tiev Mordune in the area and he says all i need to do is bring him a Water Sapta. Problem is Islen waterseer who gives the quest doesn't give you any more Water Sapta's and if you abandon the initial quest you cant do it again to get another one. Anyone have this problem to and how did you fix it. Thanks.

<p>
	First of all, I'm looking for guidance gearing-wise. Which pieces are easy to obtain (reputations, crafting, quest) or must-haves. If I should stick to mostly mail (for survivability) or should go for some cloth/leather ones for more raw damage. Then stat priority and possible upgrades would be nice. I'm still in the leveling process so...
</p>

<p>
	And last, any general tips (regarding profession choice, macroing, racial use, etc) would be appreciated. I'm not a new shaman yet my vanilla experience is null so any help is welcome.
</p>

<p>
	PS: I'm leveling on Elysium server.

<p>
	So I was under the impression that the stat priority for enhance was Hit&gt;Agility/crit&gt;Strength/AP&gt;etc.
</p>

<p>
	Reasoning is that agility or crit gives you flurry procs which means more attacks and more windfurys.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Someone today told me strength/AP is more important?  I get that it makes you hit harder, but you crit way less often and your WF procs can do less damage.  I think that agility or crit is more important on gear than strength.  Thoughts?

<p>
	I read in another thread that Elysium is using 1.12.1 client and class balance etc. but still progressive patch releases in terms of content and itemization. It seems wierd to me because the Talent Stormstrike (Shaman, Enhancementtree) is not the version it is in 1.12.1. Now it resets your autoattack timer and applies the Stormstrike debuff while it gave you an yellow hit (extra attack) and resetted the autoattack timer in 1.12.1.
</p>

<p>
	Stormstrike tooltip at the moment: "Gives you an extra attack. In addition, the next 2 sources of Nature damage dealt to the target are increased by 20%. Lasts 12 sec."
</p>

<p>
	Patch 1.11.0 (20-Jun-2006): Prior to patch 1.11, Stormstrike cost 30% of base mana and only reset the swing timer, so that it was only useful as an opener or just after a regular swing. It now acts as described, causing an instant, extra attack.

<p>
	Many people try enh with str/agi/crit gear, some people try ele with 30/0/21 spec or 31/0/20 spec.
</p>

<p>
	I never see someone with 31/20/0 spec like this: <a href="http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#hEczV0GqoxVMdV" rel="external nofollow">http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#hEczV0GqoxVMdV</a>
</p>

<p>
	The goal is :
</p>

<p>
	Using spell damage gear, spell crit/hit, and mp5.
</p>

<p>
	Instead of a weapon with good spell dmg, you use a weapon with the best dps (if there is a spell proc like this one its perfect: <a href="http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=21856" rel="external nofollow">http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=21856</a> ) or you can use Nightfall !
</p>

<p>
	On Elysium, when you cast lightning Bolt, it doesn't reset the swing timer, so you can cast between every swing. Spell crits will be huge, and will give you elemental devastation, so 9% more physical crit during 10 sec, so more flurry uptime.
</p>

<p>
	Do you think it could be better dps than classic enh or ele spec?
</p>

<p>
	Hey guys I'm looking for an addon that adds up the hits of a windfury proc.
</p>

<p>
	I know they exist but I haven't been able to make one work on this server. I looked at the addon/macros forum and couldn't find anything, sorry if this has been answered or is obvious, I'm new to the server. I've tried to find a 1.12.1 version of shaman friend with no luck (I think it was released in tbc?) I also tried Damn! Windfury and was able to find the correct version and install it only to have it not work in game. (I see the addon's menu and options but nothing happens when I windfury)
</p>

<p>
	I would be happy with an addon that solely acted as a calculator for windfury, or a larger addon with a side effect of getting what I want.
</p>

<p>
	Any info would be super, sorry again if this is obvious/repetitive
