<p>
	Muting is done by a software system or by the GMs. Most commonly it is by the anti-spam software. This software is triggered by excessive chatting, by phrases repeated too often, by certain keywords, or by a 'chatty' addon. The mute usually wears off after about an hour. If the muting is longer or frequent, submit a ticket with specifics. Spam mutes can not be reversed when you are off line.

<p>
	Muting by the GMs is less common. This is most often used as a sanction. You may have mail explaining why you have been muted.

	A newly renamed character may behave strangely for some time following its renaming. There may be difficulty whispering the character, mailing to it, using the auction house with it, grouping with it and more. These problems will normally go away over the following hours or days or even on the next server restart. It is not predictable. There is nothing that can be done to accelerate the process. Be patient.  It can help if you, and those trying to contact you, delete the WDB folder inside the WoW folder while exited from WoW, not just logged off.

	If this happens, make a ticket. State from where and to where your character were travelling. It is unlikely that the GM team will be able to respond quickly. I would suggest logging on to an alt. You may add the alt's name to the ticket. This will allow the GM who fixes the problem to let you know..

	The problem with the large amount of gold spam is gold buyers. These are fellow players who buy gold etc. Without gold buyers there would be no gold sellers. Without gold sellers, there would not be gold spammers.<br /><br />
	We ban or mute over a hundred characters/accounts a day. The problem is that they make new accounts. These accounts cost them the same as they cost you. Zero. They automate their creation.<br /><br />
	The only MMOs that do not have similar sellers are those in which the company running the game sells gold itself - however disguised.<br /><br />
	Additionally, there is little point in adding gold spammers to your ignore list. It fills up with banned names. Far better to use an add-on like Spamthrottle.

	The Gnarlpine Necklace can be buggy.  Please <a href="https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/57413-the-wdb-folder/" rel="">delete the WDB folder</a> <u><em>while exited from the program</em></u>. On restarting the program, the item should be useable. If it is not, abandon the quest and delete the item. Try it again. If the item contuse to be inactive, make another ticket, mentioning the steps that you have taken.

	The last part of the quest is buggy. It requires that you obtain a quest from Archmage Tervosh. He can sometimes be reset. First, try <a href="https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/57413-the-wdb-folder/" rel="">deleting the WDB folder</a>. If that fails, a GM can try to reset this NPC. Make a ticket if this is needed. This may not work.

	The reason that you no longer have that item is that it should not be in-game until patch 1.8. The item was removed from many people's inventories. When the subsequent patch comes, you will be able to complete the quest again and get the item.

<p>
	The reason that you no longer have that item is that it should not have been in-game until patch 1.8. The item was removed from many people's inventories and the quest was removed from their record. Now that 1.8 is here there is not, currently, a way to take the quest again, and thus get the item. The GM team can only replace rewards based on the quest record.  <a href="https://github.com/elysium-project/bug-tracker" rel="external nofollow">Bug report</a>. Please try to take the quest again after having <a href="https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/57413-the-wdb-folder/" rel="">deleted the WDB folder</a>. It may well be that a solution is being worked on.

		if you send a large number of mails, there is a maximum of how many can be unopened - 100;
	</li>

		sometimes addons cause issues, try running with none;
	</li>
	<li>
		newly restored or renamed characters can have mail problems for a few days; - wait until the next maintenance restart;
	</li>
	<li>
		sometimes <a href="https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/57413-the-wdb-folder/" rel="">deleting the WDB folder</a> helps;

		sometimes, just time resolves things.

	Often the easiest thing to do is to die. This often resets the timer to a normal level. If you do not wish to do that or it fails to work, please see below.

	Deserter and other debuffs.<br />
	These can be removed by a GM. However, you will have to be on-line for this to happen.
</p>

<p>
	<em><strong>Please make a new ticket when you are next on-line</strong></em> so that the GM can tell that you are available. If you are playing on an alt, write the name on the ticket so that we can ask you to log onto the correct character.

	It is suggested that you delete the ticket when you go off-line and add another when you return.

	This bug affects mostly Mac users, but not universally. It has been removed from the game and reintroduced, for unknown reasons. In the text below, zeppelin may be substituted for boat.
</p>

	It manifests itself as when a boat crosses a loading screen, the character appears in a featureless, blue/green/grey area. They can not move, or use their hearthstone. They can be summoned. 
</p>

<p>
	If this happens, make a ticket. State from where and to where your character were travelling. It is unlikely that the GM team will be able to respond quickly. I would suggest logging on to an alt. You may add the alt's name to the ticket. This will allow the GM who fixes the problem to let you know.
</p>

<p>
	To avoid this. Jump over the dividing line between the dock and the ship. As soon as the ship starts to move, log off. With the 20 second countdown, your character should log off before the loading screen. Wait for 2 minutes and 15 seconds (usually true) and then log in again. This should place you on the boat at your destination. 
</p>

	This happens from time to time. One solution is to put all the quest items into your bank. Delete the WDB folder. To do this, exit WoW, do not just log off. Go to the WoW folder, find the WDB folder, delete this folder. Restart WoW. Get your items from the bank. Use a right click to move them to your inventory, then try to turn the quest in again. 
</p>

<p>
	If the quest still can not be turned in, it is possible with most quests to abandon the quest without losing the quest items. Click on abandon quest in the quest log. If the game does not warn you that you will lose the items, you can abandon and re-accept the quest from the quest giver. it will usually be able to be completed at this stage. 
</p>

<p>
	Sometimes the game will warn you about losing an item given at the start of the quest, but not any other quest items. Normally this item can be reacquired on re-accepting the quest. <br />
	The fact that you have killed a certain number of NPCs will not be preserved.
</p>

<p>
	Abandoning other quests, however, will warn that all the quest items will be destroyed. This is often not true. But, to be sure, take a screenshot of the items to include your inventory and character name.
</p>

<p>
	If you have tried these techniques with no success, make a new ticket. Use the full name of the quest; state that you have deposited the items in the bank, abandoned or otherwise the quest, and have restarted WoW; state that you have deleted the WDB folder.

	WoW caches certain information in files inside the WDB folder. This folder is inside the WoW folder. The private server software deals with these caches less well than the original servers did.

	From time to time, and when advised, it it s a good thing to clear this folder, and to let WoW rebuild its caches. To do this, exit WoW, do not just log off - this is important. Go to the WoW folder, find the WDB folder, delete this folder. Restart WoW.

	From time to time, a boss will not drop loot as expected. In this case we will provide replacement providing the proper evidence is sent to us.

	There should be one ticket, multiple tickets slow us down, confuse the situation and can lead to refusal.
</p>

<p>
	This ticket should come from the raid leader or a nominated replacement. If the person sending the ticket is not the raid leader, they should say on the ticket in what capacity they are sending the ticket, and indicate that the named raid leader has asked them to.
</p>

<p>
	The evidence should be in the form of a video. This video need not be the whole raid, just the segment showing the events below. Other than that, the segment should be unedited. A link to this should be on the ticket.The video should show at a minimum
</p>

	unedited

	a little before the the boss encounter
</p>

	the boss kill
</p>

<p>
	the looting attempt  either with its either whole or partial failure
</p>

<p>
	a clear view of the raid ID interface should be shown - if it not legible on standard monitors using standard software, it may be refused

	If the video is long, the times of the above events (time- stamps) should be stated on the ticket.

	Thank you for reporting these gold spammers. We find this useful. However, some reports are more useful than others. 
</p>

<p>
	Accessing the chat logs is very time consuming and, given the small numbers of GMs, not a productive use of our time. Similarly, it is far from easy to see mail in your mailbox.
</p>

<p>
	The most useful spam reports include a link to a screenshot showing the spam, or spam mail. You can reduce the size of the image to show the relevant area. These screenshots can be uploaded to a site like imgur. Please, no sites that require subscriptions etc. 
</p>

<p>
	We can then use that as evidence. In the absence of evidence, we can not ban an account.
</p>

<p>
	Also, adding the names of the spammer(s) is helpful. It takes us a second to check if the person has been already banned, much longer to access the screenshot and then check. We get a very large number of these reports.

	I'm sure everyone here is tired of characters spamming gold selling websites in every major city, in public chats... everywhere. Players don't understand why they are so prevalent here, but the truth is that gold selling organizations are a player-driven economy. Players may put the fault on the Elysium Project, but the only fault of the Elysium Project in this regard is the sheer number of its population, especially when we account for inactive players. 
</p>

<p>
	Gold buying is very prevalent in this community, and most just think they will get away with it. This is a problem that all players need to have better awareness about and actively work together as a community to end this malicious scourge. The problem here is not the mentality that you are breaking the rules. There are many reasons Elysium Project has these rules in place. One of the very large reasons is <em>how malicious gold selling organizations really are to the community. </em>
</p>

	This website is a collection of all the large scale breaches. Feel free to try and putting your e-mail address in there, to see if you have been affected by any breach. What this website does not do, however, is account for any previous WoW private server that has had its database breached. An administrator of a dead private server has no sympathies when leaking or selling an old database full of player account credentials. This is one of the largest reasons we have so many compromised accounts here.

	<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Gold selling organizations will literally attempt to compromise accounts either through these old databases, or through brute force hacking.</strong></span>

	Elysium Project has been actively fighting against the latter, by enabling a temporary lockout if you try logging in too many times. Elysium Project has also enabled two-factor authentication to protect player accounts from these malicious attacks. 
</p>

	As I volunteered here as a GM, I handled many different ban appeals. The amount of appeals Elysium Project receives for compromised accounts needing to be unbanned is <em>staggering</em>. While mainly accounts that have been inactive for more than a month are the most common targets, there are plenty of examples of players who are playing normally and then get their account locked the next day because it was compromised.

	<strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Not only do these gold selling organizations compromise players accounts, but they also strip them of all items and gold they have, and send it away. And the icing on the cake is that they then use these accounts maliciously to bot and spam their gold selling websites that you guys see every day. </span></strong>

	We have active organizations here that compromise accounts, completely wiping them and then using them to spam all day long. And these organizations are funded by you, the players. The intensity of this spam shows how prevalent they are in this community. If regular players think there is nothing they can do besides report these guys, they are plain wrong.

	I strongly urge all of you to take the time to change your password, and enable two-factor authentication. You guys all put so much work into gearing up your character and making them the best they can be. Can you imagine that just because you have not taken these simple steps, that you could lose all of your gold and gear tomorrow? You could literally log in the next day, and find your character stripped of everything. <em>And the kicker here is that Elysium Project staff will reimburse you little to nothing.</em> 
</p>

<p>
	Beyond that, it is essential for you guys to not socially allow an attitude that encourages gold buying. If you or a friend of yours has bought gold, just know that you are aiding these organizations, and you are literally funding for players accounts to be compromised and the malicious existence that is gold sellers. Players need to take a stand against gold sellers, and to create awareness of how destructive they are here. If you or a friend of yours is thinking about buying gold, I hope you will listen to what I have said here and take note that the only reason all of this exists is because of players that don't want to take the time to earn gold.
