Good shit. When can we expect some of those fixes on Elysium though? This patch and the last one contained some very useful general raid improvements, like the part about being too far away to be eligible for loot.
-
Gear difference doesn't matter when there is only "the one" server. But as soon as you have two, people will flock to the newer one. It's why merging Elysium and Anathema is so important too.
-
Like I said in my previous post. While 61 items is a possibility, it's also a lot harder to implement. It would be better to merge Elysium with Anathema before Naxx comes out, because establishing feature parity right now is very easy. Basically just hurry up with AQ on Elysium, let the races finish, then hit the merge button. The servers should be merged long before TBC comes out.
-
I do and I'm in the last NA horde guild that can clear the content. To say the realm is doing fine is just defying reality at this point. Merging them would save Anathema and provide a good excuse to release Elysium patches faster, a total win:win situation.

If you're actually listening to constructive feedback, then I will post some: Anathema is not in a state to survive a couple more months of waiting, it is also however not a good idea to rush releases, because it will just make the problem worse. Anathema needs players and the most efficient way to get them is by merging Elysium and Anathema. Currently you are in a very favorable position for a merge between the two servers, because apart from Nightmare Dragons and ZG, only a single major patch (AQ) seperates the two realms. Here is where the constructive part comes in: You should highly consider accelerating the AQ release on Elysium to be able to merge Anathema and Elysium before you release Naxx on Anathema. Becuase as soon as you release Naxx, the patch seperation becomes insurmountable. Right now is the ONLY time where this operation can possibly succeed. A merge cannot screw up the AQ gate grind, the mount competition and the first kill races. If you release Naxx first on Anathema, you need to delay the merge until Elysium is close to a Naxx release which is too far away, Anathema does not have this much time, TBC or not. You can achieve this two ways: The most elegant way would be to release AQ on Elysium, wait about a month and then do the merge. That way Anathema items and stock cannot influence the important races taking place on Elysium. This is also however the solution that takes more time. The alternative is to merge the two servers before AQ is actually out, but "downgrade" Anathema temporarily by blocking the AQ specific items (make them require level 61 temporarily). Then after the AQ release and all the races are done, you can unlock the Anathema AQ items again. This solution is a lot faster, but much less easy to implement and also less elegant. I personally prefer the first option. As soon as both server are proceeding on a modified and accelerated Elysium timeline, patching to Naxx together and then going to TBC together will benefit both servers and will allow all of us to continue this adventure together. I currently raid on both servers and can honestly say that if a merge is implemented correctly, everyone involved will benefit from it and it will not impact the natural patch progression on Elysium to a noticable degree. But I need to stretch this, right now is the only time where this will work, because Anathema and Elysium happen to be very close in their progression cycle and the window for this is closing fast. I urge you with all my might to consider this possiblity, which would actually solve the problem instead of trying to doctor with the symptoms that won't really solve anything. Thanks for reading.

Zeth'Kur Migration — Transfers starting June 7th

I like Akira's reply a lot better on this one, considering I've seen first hand what this did last time (Old Elysium -> Anathema). You don't have a lot of imagination if you don't make atleast several thousand gold from like 10 minutes of work each day doing practically nothing. -

On a more serious note, any plans to make sure that people who farmed an empty server for months won't completely destroy the economy of the other servers? I mean you can look into their banks and stuff, people had months to hoard all valuable stuff, buy out all rare patterns, etc. It's tens of thousands of gold potentially. -

I talked to all 3 of the Zeth'Kur players and I think we can handle them :^). -

But then why announce Elysium in the first place? -
Zeth'Kur Migration — Transfers starting June 7th
Cephei replied to Akira's topic in Official Information
Wasn't the original announcement that the remaining chars would be moved to Elysium? I feel this is quite a big change considering if you want to go Elysium you could conceivably just quit and wait for the transfer. Now people might not realize they have to do something. -
Please stop suggesting they update the PvP gear. They specifically advertised the server as having prebuff PvP gear and you started ranking knowing this. Many people, myself included, rolled a character here specifically becauase the PvP gear wasn't buffed. Many players, myself included, enjoy not having overpowered AQ40 level items in the game when MC is the highest tier of raiding content. I expect the staff to adhere to this, similarily how they adhered to not changing Nostalrius' gear progression and subsequently nerfing the PvP gear people had already farmed on Anathema. They stuck with the original plan when they adopted the server, out of necesseity of not screwing over the population. I seriously hope we can expect the same thing here, stick to the original plan and do not upgrade the PvP gear. It's also honestly a little dishonest hearing about this PvP gear upgrade from people who are already finished ranking and are only standing to get a free gear upgrade out of this deal at this point. This has nothing to do with revitalizing (world) PvP, this is a blatant excuse to cheese better items out of the team with a thinly veiled excuse. The most important factor to the health and the (world) PvP scene right now is making the world alive again: Release patches faster, we don't need months of farming the same content, we've done it before. Release AV at the start of June or even earlier and follow it up with rapid patches to keep the content fresh. Make people have a reason to login, make people have a reason to leave the city. The PvP will come naturally by itself with that.
-
Okay, the problem is that you're releasing content at a snails pace and everyone raidlogs to the point of logging in once per week because there is nothing to do. Please don't make the mistake of ruining the itemization yet again by updating the PvP sets too early, it has little influence over world pvp presence. Under absolutely no circumstances should you do what this guy is suggesting: PvP gear in vanilla was very deliberately chosen to not be better than PvE gear and raiding is extremely negatively influenced over those items being upgraded early. Additionally, rankers do not world pvp in the way that's fun for most people involved. Don't confuse farming honor between queues with actual enjoyable world pvp. Release AV and future patches sooner and you will see a much higher activity in world PvP. If you don't believe me, look at the first week or two after DM came out.

It's enough to matter, that's a bigger ratio than most presidental elections and a lot more hinges on those. It's enough to validate everyone who always knew that needing for selling wasn't the default or even a particularily popular stance to be on. It's nice to have some data confirming this. So yes, I know you reply to every single one of those threads like your life depended on it, but you got conclusively proven wrong here. You even quoted me in the other thread on it because you thought the poll would go your way. So next time I say "the majority", please know that I speak the truth. And I want to put this here again for all to see: The majority of us considers needing for selling de facto the same as ninja looting and we will undertake actions if you violate this social contract. The default loot option is to pass for upgrades, but if you abuse the system and then sell the item anyways, that's also ninjalooting. -

Btw, I'm glad we had the poll on the other thread where the majority of people agree to leave Need rolls to upgrades, so this debate is done and done. As per the poll results, the default loot rules are need for usage > need/greed for selling. If you run loot rules different than those, you need to explicibly state those, as requested multiple times in this thread. Glad we could clear that up. -

They are not, but Battlechaser's Greaves is a random drop and decently expensive, so farming it is unreliable. The boots on the other hands are the second best option in this patch and drop relatively frequently. -

The best way to treat Need and Greed is this: Pretend pressing Need soulbounds the item to you if you win, Greed doesn't. That's it. If you live by that rule, you'll do everything right. -

I like the fact that people are still arguing about this when there is only one argument that really matters: This game is dictated by mob rule. Most of us subscribe to need = use. Therefore, that's the defacto standard, whether you like it or not. Therefore you either follow it, or you end up like Beerwizzard, who's still without a guild as of now. Logic has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's your choice really. -
Well internally they might have "cheated" by giving it the effect of, say Annihilator instead. Swapping out the spell ID is not a problem at all, you could make it fire fireballs instead also. But the actual intended procc, the one non-stackable 300 armor reduction, as far as I know it doesn't exist in the client because they overwrote it with the stackable version.
