Derp. You were correct Potroshishkin. The three characters are on Valkyrie and the one character is on Elysium. At the time that I posted initially the only available realm in the WoW client was Elysium.

Now I am seeing just the one character I created yesterday when I login to the WoW client, but on the site's control panel I see my three characters from before.

It's definitely Elysium.

I had three characters on the realm and was getting a blank character list... After creating a character and logging out and back in to test the realm list says I have only one character now, and I am able to login. Are those three characters I had gone now?
