Dear Staff & PvP Community,
I am posting here to help keep this server kicking and to give the PvP community tangible goals to work towards.
Let me start off by mentioning that I am aware the honor calculations are working correctly and this is not a post about any bugs regarding weekly honor calculation.
Since the server launch there has only been one week that has allowed for standing one to gain the proper 13k RP for bracket one (Alliance side) - And... that was with three extra days in the week and a world boss spawn. This is of course due to the lack of players being counted in standing for each week. I have been in talks with members of staff and players about taking steps to improve the total standing each week and it is just not working.
I am proposing that we have an adjustment to the total standing for both factions to accommodate the server population. The ideal number of spots for bracket one would be four, so for this scenario, let's aim for two... That would require a minimum total standing of 504 players or 667 to get a roughly even 2.0 in the calculations. This would give us 67 players that can earn over 7k RP for the week. 7k RP is the amount of RP players need to rank up if you are right around rank six - which is the point at which decay really starts to become a factor in the ranking.
If we fix the standing at 667 players we get: 2 spots for Br1 (12-13k RP)
3 spots for Br2 (11-12k RP)
8 spots for Br3 (10-11k RP)
10 spots for Br4 (9-10k RP)
17 spots for Br5 (8-9k RP)
27 spots for Br6 (7-8k RP)
Now I know this is not blizzlike... but what WAS blizzlike?
Servers with low population got deleted and players were offered free transfers - so I think that this is a great solution to fix the issue which is the same goal blizzard had when they decided to move players. This is a solution that I feel will provide an incentive for more players to PvP - and will finally give the PvP community a realistic chance of obtaining ranks 11-14.
I hope you will seriously consider this and I look forward to hearing any more info later. Best, Jauz
