Wienersteve, a cautionary tale.
Haps replied to wienersteve's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
@Akuta I might have come off a bit strong in my previous post but I really was hoping for some answers. Did multiple gm's agree that a two weeks suspension AND loosing the rank was a fair punishment? Or did he just get the suspension and then the server's scripting took care of his rank? Did one gm stand for the initial ban wave and the following cleanup came from gm's actually talking together about what really happened and what type of dmg control to do?(that is the impression I am left with when I look back at this whole thing) -

When its organized win trading, yes. When its one team is choosing not to fight to get more honor pr hour, no. -

Clearly you don't know how honor grinding works. Alliance premades afk's against horde premades ALL THE TIME for several reasons: alliance has instant queue's and horde has a shitload of pug pvp'ers so they get sub 7 minute wins in wsg and ab (vs pugs) compare that honor pr hour to the honor pr hour you get from 30 minute ab's or several hours of wsg(if neither team gives up this really does happen) As a horde ranker you will frequently get whispers from lvl 6 hordes asking "first cap gets free 3 cap"(wsg) or "first team to 1000 gets to 5 cap" / "the team that wins bs fight gets to 5 cap"(ab) and same thing happens every time: horde rankers says no, with anywhere from 10-60 minute queue's you simply cant afford to just throw games. Alliance afk's against anything that will drag out the game's they are in because the honor pr hour will be much greater that way, horde is almost the same: they will afk on anything that is an obvious loss for the sake of getting out of the game and getting in the next queue as fast as possible. -

A two week suspension is nothing much but taking away a toons rank 14 is waaaaay over the top, no one cares about the ban anymore that shit is cleared but taking his rank is just immensely unfair. He did the honest work to get r14, got a suspension for that AND looses his rank? Was this agreed upon internally that he had earned this kind of punishment or did you just 'fire and forget'? How come people that got their sentence reduced to one week still got their rank? Is this also intentional or just something that happened? He did the work. He did the time. Give him his money weapons. -
Then why is kanrabat and gunzbngbng banned? The 'investigation' you guys have done definitely has some holes in it, I am sorry if it comes off as aggressive or whatever but being a ranker is scary now that you have shown how trigger happy you are with the ban's. Ranking on this server is no longer worth it if its just a /random on weather or not you get banned for it.

pretty much the same goes for gunzbngbng

Yes i have considered that they have investigated, If they looked at the games leading up to the screenshotted one they would see that they gave it their best effort and still lost. Ill say this again: one team choosing to fight does not equal organized win trading.

The screenshot shows one game but it does not show the games leading up to that game, this game is clearly showing that the alliance is not fighting back(and should be reported because it is definitely suspicious) while some of the posts are not super well formulated due to language barriers its pretty obvious that the alliance premade has given up fighting rather than organizing win trades -If there is logs of battlegrounds any claim is easily proven. Its pretty common knowledge among the horde rankers that we can not afford to intentionally loose games to other premades as we get much longer queue's and therefore have to make every game count, why would alliance premades intentionally loose games to horde premades that will never intentionally loose to them? You will see this behavior of giving up in both premades and non premades, for pugs its most likely because of people getting demotivated by getting behind and they just sit around afk until the game is over but in premades its all about honor gain, if you get more honor letting the other team end the game fast and getting in to a new game you can actually 4 or 5 cap you pretty much have no choice, both horde and alliance does this with games that are obviously lost. If you are not able to see the logs to prove who is telling the truth its just down to word against word and if that is the case who are you going to believe a bunch of alliance rankers that just recently got off a suspension for abusing the battleground system or the players in that game and the people that have played with them for the past weeks/months?

Nice meme, but just to clarify for the autists: no that is not what i meant.
-
Then why do you give in to the hive mind of salty alliance's reporting and ban people based off what? tsasa's screen shot have been all over the alliance premade discord for a while and they have all talked about reporting it, witch is fine anything suspicious should be reported but if gm's are giving in to mass reporting this community will rot extremely fast.. same happened with the dc bug some people obviously abused it and never got touched while some people received a suspension for abusing it. We cant have gm's with the mentality "if a lot of people says the same thing it must be true" -the gm's are supposed to be the ones sorting out the witch hunts not a part of them.

A Frank Address And Statement on Recent Events and Revelations
Haps replied to Shenna's topic in Official Information
This pretty much.. except it almost seems like instead of caring they are fully aware of it and letting them do their thing because they throw some money at the server or some key people -I am not trying to say this is what is actually happening just that this is an impression I am left with. They are running anything that can earn yuan in an extremely organized fashion, to me it seems like some simple monitoring of key toons could lead to identifying the entire farm house and after the farm house is identified they can easily be suppressed. It just seems like a lot of long time value for the server community to be gained from some dedicated work. -
clearly you have not tried playing with 300+ ms your opinion is void.

as it is on many servers, this is harmless changes to work against a big problem on the private server scene tho: high ping
-
its a "stopcast" program it cancels your casts after you have finished casting so you can start casting a new spell without having to wait for server response.
