This is awesome. It will be nice to use this for the PvE realm. I hope the population there is large and healthy. -
Members crowd funding the server
Cipherr replied to Ellipsea's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
If you guys want to shake the "Immature players play on the PvP server" meme, you need to stop being so easily baited. C'mon... -
so What's the first thing you're gonna do when it's back online, guys?
Cipherr replied to Xadaver's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Get my freaking Noam mage to Elwynn so I can quest there for SW reputation. I want to be riding a SW mount by level 50 (I probably wont make it by 40). Quest as fast as I can. Its unfortunate that I need to quest, because its going to be a mess finding/killing quest mobs for the first few weeks, but I cant stand the mechanostrider mounts, they are loud and obnoxious, but I want my mage to be a Gnome so.... -
Why are retail players so angry about this server?
Cipherr replied to Crowley's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
No offense but take a trip to Reddit. I check the different private server subreddits daily while I work and its the same thing in reverse. Corny mass upvoted stuff hating on Legion/Live and the people that enjoy it. Both sides are chock full of insecure idiots who don't know how to deal with someone liking something they don't like. All you can do is ignore it. -
Its an MMO. I don't really feel the need to explain why I want to see/join other people in the world. I could play the Witcher or Skyrim or something if I didn't care about it.

Do I really want to play on a PvP server?
Cipherr replied to MacinJosh's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Well, for the bolded.... I mean, anyone who gets their jollies corpse camping, or ganking lower levels, or griefing on a large scale cant really do ANY of those things on a PvE server effectively. This makes the PvE servers rank pretty low on that kind of persons desired server type. It just so happens that the sort of people that really REALLY get off on that stuff, also happen to be the type fond of Harambe Memes, Edgelord behavior and general immature nonsense. It's not true of 100% of them, but there's a pretty big overlap between those two camps, so yeah you will get less of that on PvE Servers. That sort of person also needs people to grief in order to fulfill that power trip, so often you will find that they are insecure/fearful of PvE servers being or becoming more popular, or even being looked at as a 1st option. Which is why a lot of them are downright nasty about PvE rulesets when you see them post on forums or reddit and like to insist that people don't roll on them because the server "will be dead" or that you need to "man up and play where I play". It's literally grade school logic all over again. -

The Greatest list of Pros vs. Cons on what server to play.
Cipherr replied to Applesauce's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I think you would have to be extremely obtuse, or ignoring everything coming out of the private server community right now to think that the Fresh Start PvP server isn't going to be the most popular by far. The first PvP server will be crashing on launch from the load, but that's because those of us waiting on the PvE and Fresh Start wont have another server to play on yet. But a month or so after the fresh start server gets going, its going to be a landslide. Fresh Start Pop > Old PvP Pop >>>>>> PvE server population. I would bet anything on that. -
You can rest assured, that this thread was created with the intent of finding out whether or not they could intentionally be 'immature' and not have to fear repercussions. Anyone worried about "Free Speech" on private servers (considering how absolutely terrible World chats on private servers usually are) is absolutely asking permission to be an abhorrent human being in chat and not be punished. No one gets banned for a swear word here and there on these servers; that's just being used as a front to ask if they can say the most sexist, racist, hateful crap that comes to mind without fearing bans. Sounds like the answer is a clear NO from the TOS and the post from Pottu, and I couldn't be happier. Heres a copy paste of the relevant sections of the TOS for Elysium: A. Naming policy When choosing a character name, creating a guild, or otherwise creating a label that can be seen by other users using the Game or the service, you must abide by the guidelines set forth here, as well as the rules of common decency. If Elysium staff finds such a label to be offensive or inappropriate, it may, in its sole and absolute discretion, change the name, remove the label and corresponding chat room, and/or suspend or terminate your use of the service. Guilds which violate the policy will be deleted with or without warning. You may not create a name or label related, referring, incorporates or utilizes any of the following: Religion, Politics, Organizations; Nationality, Racism, Ethnics; Harassment or Defamation; Obscenity, Vulgarity, Insults; Sexually explicit, Violence; Hateful, Drugs, Unlawful; Staff member or any staff oriented name; Incomprehensible. B. Interacting with players and staff Communicating in-game with other users and staff members, whether by text or any other method, is a fundamental element of the Game. The following rules are not intended to be exhaustive, Elysium staff may use their discretion to decide what may break these rules. When communicating with other users and staff, you may not: Communicate any unlawful, obscene, racist or any such language and/or imagery deemed inappropriate by Elysium staff. Circumvent the /ignore function to communicate with a user, regardless of circumstances. Use non-English language in public channels. I think those areas completely cover what the OP really wanted to know.

Announcement #2 — Realm Names, Launch Order, Stress Testing, and the Future

All of this. Wish I could give it reputation but I havent figured it out yet. PvE realm launch should come before the Fresh Start. -
Announcement #2 — Realm Names, Launch Order, Stress Testing, and the Future
Cipherr replied to Shenna's topic in Official Information
Absolutely everything here follows reasonable logic. Except.... for the fact that the PvE server seems to be coming last??? There is no fresh start PvE server; so it really seems like not having it launched besides the Nost PvP server sends the message that the population for that server is completely unimportant. I mean.. I'm with you. I understand wanting to give a 50/50 shot for the two PvP servers to thrive. Except that there's not just two servers launching. There's a third, and its being launched as late as February. Its even coming after a fresh start server. That's going to hurt man. Edit: Honestly, Im thinking its a technical thing. I think they may just have so much on their plate launching these servers that there's only so much they can do in ~2 months. And something has to be sacrificed. Its gonna have to be the PvE realm because its understandably the lesser priority. Otherwise I feel like they would launch both Nost realms side by side since neither of them are fresh start realms. -

Should we assume that the PvE realms launch will be at the same time as the Fresh PvP launch? A few of us are dying for the PvE realm, but its very rarely mentioned (understandably).
