I don't have a macro. I just bind Cat form to a key, and then when I'm in Cat form it is a different toolbar, so I just bind Prowl to the same key. If I want to get out of Prowl I just hit the Prowl key once again to get out of stealth. If you are in another form, hitting Cheetah will take you out of that form. Getting out of form is an instant-cast but going into form is on the global cooldown.

The question is, while I appreciate banning specific accounts of known hackers what about the techniques they were found to be using to hack? While it's better not to disclose these methods, most people will feel better if that has been addressed.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that the timelines for future patches on the "Nostalrius" servers - such as 1.9 content on the PvP server are probably going to be pushed back due to recent events. Any confirmation of this, or official updates from Elysium will be most appreciated.

So many wild assumptions in this video - 1/10 waste of time, I stopped watching about halfway through because of the complete full-of-shit nature of some of the statements. You should try again, and come up with something that doesn't sound like it belongs in a tabloid.

So you think it's as simple as sticking your guns? When someone has a bigger gun pointed at your head IRL (figuratively,) you are going to do whatever the F is needed to correct that situation. You are a user of a free game on the internet, I wouldn't be so quick to judge the actions of anybody who put their necks on the line until more facts come out.

Just have fun playing the game today and be thankful, that's all you can do. Most of us don't know the whole story yet, and maybe the whole thing will never come out. But it's curious how they would essentially destroy all of the goodwill and support from the community in just 1 day - that's the curious thing, which makes people wonder...

They had enough time to see how Nostalrius developed solutions to specific problems, overcame obstacles etc - the contributions from Nostalrius to the private vanilla server community are big.

What's the status of this quest on Elysium? On Nostalrius Begins, they were strongly discouraging players from completing the quest (even though it was in the game at one point) - even going so far as threatening bans on anyone who had the quest rewards in their bags, the assumption being that it wasn't meant to be live until a later patch. Now on Elysium, the quest is still available and shows for me as Completed with the NPC quest-giver ready to hand me the choice of quest loot. So should I, or shouldn't I? Do the GMs here give an actual f&ck either way, knowing the history of the quest on this server?

It depends on several things - are you in a good guild, is everything on farm, are you the ultimate tryhard (farming ALL consumables for all fights). For AQ-above, Boomkins can be viable if your raid is killing everything quickly - as the fights get longer, Boomkins don't do as well. If your guild has everything on farm and they don't mind giving you gear normally coveted by Mages & Warlocks, that helps. Boomkins need near-BiS gear to even be competitive on the damage meters, and even then you will have constant mana issues. There's a good thread here

Every time I type something, it says <AFK> when I am clearly not afk, as evidenced by the fact that I just typed something. How can I make this stop? Very annoying, adds nothing to the game except to annoy players. If I do /afk a couple times, it still happens. Is there a way to toggle off afk?

You can just delete the "set realmname" line and this should let you back in, and it will ask you for the server connection info again...

I was able to get in by doing the following: - open the config.wtf file (in the WTF folder) using Wordpad - Removed the following line: SET realmName "Nostalrius PvP" - Saved file, logged back in & I got in fine. Just had to pick the server again.

Yes, the WoW client uses the same port(s) but it just connects to a different server. Usually, they just block based on port - there are dozens of servers, even on retail and the IPs people might want to connect to change all the time. You might be able to circumvent this with a VPN such as Smoothping, Pingzapper etc.

Pottu did mention the Nost forums a few weeks ago, that it would be a good idea to grab anything you want to save because they won't be online forever. Having said that, it would be nice to get some advance warning of this - maybe them going offline is like an advance warning? If they really did pull the plug permanently, would be unfortunate (but not unexpected.) Hopefully there is just some short term issue, and there isn't an urgent reason to get it back quickly...

When I try to send mail to another character on the same account, I get "target is not a member of your alliance" but they are both Horde - I deleted the WDB yesterday before the servers came online, and again after I noticed the problem buy I still can't send mail to my own same-faction character.

I cannot send mail between other characters on the same account, of the same faction. I am able to send to other players. I sometimes get a message that the target player is not in my alliance. Other times the mail interface simply does not respond. The "send" button tuems gray and then nothing further. I have tried deleting my WDB folder and disabling all add-ons & renaming the WTF folder.

Finish the Bloodvine set for my Druid's balance gear, prepare for the patch 1.9 quests, respec my Warlock and go farm casually. Maybe join some Silithus boss farm raids to get one of the gear drops if I have time.
