Questie A Vanilla Quest Helper Hey guys, glad to be here on the new forums. This post will be updated like the one on the original nost forum was. We will use it to keep you guys up to date as we work on Questie. You may also post about bugs here, but it is much easier for us if you post them on the GitHub issue tracker. Remember to check back periodically, Questie is still a work in progress and is updated regularly. Current Development Status: v3.5: I'm currently in the process of fixing a few critical bugs, these fixes will be available in v3.5 before Christmas weekend. v4.0: The core code is being rewritten. Current focus is on properly (cleanly) rewriting all the hooks. Some of the solutions 3.x uses are not ideal. Some screenshots: \ FAQ - How do I move the QuestieTracker and QuestArrow? Hold down CTRL + Shift + Hold Left Mouse Button + Drag - I get an error: "attempt to index global 'QuestieConfig' (a nil value)" This can be caused by upgrading from an older version of Questie or using it for the first time before a SavedVariables can be properly created. Please use '/questie clearconfig' while in game to clear/reset your config file. - I can't seem to get my quests to appear in the tracker automatically. For those not running EQL3 or some other QuestLog mod. If you prefer the default wow QuestLog and Tracker that's fine but it's very limited. For example, if a quest doesn't have any objectives to "track" then it won't appear in the quest tracker and no Quest Arrow will be available for it. Additionally, quests will not automatically be tracked by the default WoW quest tracker. The way that it works is that if you have the option enabled in the games Interface Options --> "Automatic Quest Tracking" then yes, it will auto track a quest with an objective once you OBTAIN the first quest item. Then it will appear automatically in the list unless you manually Shift+Click the quest in the QuestLog but again, only if there is a "trackable" objective. Unlike EQL3 or other QuestLog/QuestTracker mods where pretty much anything is trackable, these quests will appear in the Questie QuestTracker. If the quest appears then map coordinates are cached and this allows the QuestieArrow to hook into the position and give you an arrow. - Why isn't the QuestieArrow appearing? You have to click on an objective on the Minimap, Worldmap or the quest in the QuestieTracker. If a quest has never been tracked it won't appear until after it has appeared at least once in the QuestieTracker. If you disable the QuestieTracker, the QuestieArrow will not work. You are indeed using an extremely old version. Please download it from the proper source: https://github.com/AeroScripts/QuestieDev/releases Make sure to delete the old questie folders first.

This sounds like you downloaded it from vanilla-addons. What version are you running? Always download the latest from here: https://github.com/AeroScripts/QuestieDev/releases

There have been some delays because I've been really busy with real life things but I hope to get an beta out within the month. I'm going to be committing the code to github in the next few days in a branch but it won't be very usable until a beta release is made

Yeah, this actually affected every addon's settings/saved data. The problem is when elysium changed the server names, the addons don't realize that automatically. You can manually fix it by renaming your folders in "<wow folder>/WTF/Account/<accountname>/," in there rename "Elysium PvP" to "Anathema" etc.

Questie was originally built around MetaMap, it does. I haven't tested this build but laytya has contributed code to questie before, I'm sure it works fine.

What version are you running? Also, questie doesn't have any control over the EQL3 tracker

Indeed, but since he's on mac it will probably be command or option, one of the function keys with shift anyway.

In the latest version there is a new tracker scale option, you're in luck! (/questie qtscale small|medium|large) Currently no, but as has been mentioned before, v4.0 will have much more control over what kinds of objectives are shown/hidden (so yes it is coming in the future) Well, something funky is definitely going on then. What version exactly are you using (sorry if you already mentioned this,) and can you try with only questie enabled in the addons list?

As for the tracker position, you need to hold CTRL+SHIFT to drag it. As for available quests, the minlevel/maxlevel settings are a bit iffy (and also accept negative values) If you can't get it to work, try resetting the config.

Some people have been having issues with objectives not showing up on the fresh server, if that happens just toggle questie twice (button in the world map). This is caused by slow WDB download from all the server load.

Nice job compiling the links! However, that last English direct download link is actually for Mac not windows (might want to make that a bit more clear)

I can probably add an option to do it, but currently it's not possible (aside from using the UI scale option in video settings)

I'd prefer to keep this in the questie thread, but can you post a screenshot of your addons folder? Also what version of questie are you running (it says in the addon menu on the character screen)

I'm pretty sure elysium/nost has randomized the spawn locations of everything, using a regular gatherdb from retail wouldn't work. (Might be wrong)

With the recent forum theme change, BBcode edit mode (the little switch button) is removed. This is a very bad thing. It's impossible to make decent looking posts with just the WYSIWYG editor. It's also impossible to copy a quote.

BBcode edit mode was available for months, it was just removed a day or two ago...

That's very strange. It's possible there is a corrupted version of questie somewhere in your addons folder, have you tried making a clean addons folder (ex. rename your current addons folder to oldaddons etc then run the game again, then install questie) Also, a screenshot of the inside of the "!Questie" folder might be helpful Something is definitely very wrong with your copy of questie
