You realize the main point of this project is to revive Nostalrius, not to start a fresh server? I also think it's funny you're telling the "Old Nost players" to go back to retail seeing those are the players who were on the ground floor of the legacy explosion. Forget retail, I'd rather take it back to Nost. Oh, wait, we are. Besides, quit your bitching, they said they'd announce the fresh start server release date this week. Stop being so demanding of people who are providing you legacy for free.

I personally have no desire to play on a fresh server. I'm a grown попа man, I don't have time to level 1-60 again. I think people hit the nail on the head that a lot of people who weren't on Nost want the fresh server to "experience the magic". I personally want to go back to the server where thousands of people gathered outside capital cities as the servers were taken down for what we thought was the final time. There are 100 servers out there that are "fresh", there's only 1 Nost.

This may be a stupid question, but did you restart the game and/or graphics engine after making the changes? I know when I did the console changes I saw pretty dramatic differences even with everything already maxed in the game settings.

There's an endgame hunter quest for I think an epic bow (I'm sure someone will link it) that forces you to fight a demon solo, if anyone interferes it despawns and is on a several hour respawn timer. edit: found it http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Quest:Stave_of_the_Ancients

Not all settings are available in the in-game options menu, some of the ones posted are over-the-top improvements

Why would that bring in more players? People, dare I say the vast majority, are looking for a server that is Blizz-like and true to original Vanilla, if anything your silly idea would alienate those players. You're the one who has to put up an argument of why something non-Blizzlike should be allowed on a server that aims to be Blizzlike. So far you have offered nothing besides "lol I like the way it looks so the admins should break from their core beliefs to help me make the game look like retail"

You're suggesting allowing modded game files to change models because for some reason you think it'll bring in additional players. That's asinine. If someone is refusing to play here, on a VANILLA server, because there are VANILLA models then those are the kind of people who don't understand what the project is about. You say there are plenty of servers that allow the modded files, if people care that much then they can go play there.

Maybe if we ask nicely they'll consider a mod that lets us do Karazhan at 60, too.

So what you're saying is even though they're trying to launch 3 servers they should take the time to talk with some random mod creator to add files/models that weren't even available in vanilla to begin with? I'm not sure you understand the philosophy behind this project.

Not really seeing changing settings through the console is a lot different than adding different patch files. There's a big difference between changing resolution and changing base game files that the anti-cheat actively monitors. Vanilla server, vanilla models imo.

You're asking them to try to whitelist a specific set of modded game files, which I honestly think is harder than you're making it sound. Not going to happen, and I agree with them, modding of game files for any reason should not be allowed.

Learning skills can get pricey in vanilla. For a rogue you'll probably be buying poisons, thistle tea, flash powder, blinding powder, etc, but they make up for it with pickpocketing. You can farm just about anything, really depends on the economy supply/demand. Elemental earth/fire, black lotus, devilsaur hides (lol), or just random mobs.

Are you saying you don't have the game installed? You need to install the game before you can play...
