Bumping, 1.7k Sunday peak, last Sunday we had 2k, 15% turn over of 300 people in 7 days. This is not sustainable.
-
Elysium is same progression, many of us have characters on Anathema and Darrowshire, level 60 ones at that. Merging into Elysium is the only real option.
-
Because it would be bad for the project as a whole if they let a server completely die? You realize Elysium has lost a large chunk of players as well right? Merging would revitalize the project similar to what Kronos went through when they combined their project into one realm. Since Elysium has consistently lost players across the board on all realms they need something positive, a merger would be a nice boost. You clearly have made up your mind and formed your own opinion regarding the merger, there is zero purpose in me convincing you otherwise, this thread is for the staff mostly.

Or just merge the two fresh-fresh realms? Lol. -

Did it ever occur to you the people on the fresh realms are playing there because its the beginning of content? I see your point but most would quit and reroll Elysium regardless. Me and many others have 60s on Anathema already, merging that realm with the fresh ones would be counter productive. -

Merging Zeth with Elysium would be the better move due to their timelines being in-sync with each other. Anathema will (probably) regain some of it's footing when AQ ever releases. -

How about you read posts from people who actually play on Zeth'Kur before hamfisting your own opinion as to the servers status? Just because there are 1,200 online doesn't mean the server itself is healthy nor stable, just a few weeks ago we had 3k average, you call that turnover healthy? Dismissing the current situation like nothing is wrong on our server is what got is here in the first place. What will you say when we average 800 people, that everything is fine because you can find one UBRS run in two hours? -

Shenna did, but her response clearly showed she personally doesn't understand the situation on Zeth. To her best knowledge (not going to lump the entire staff in because both Jakira and Hamblin have been quite sympathetic to our situation) everything is hunky dory on Zeth'Kur, including both the PvE and PvP scene despite guilds literally rerolling en masse or quitting the project in general while the PvP scene has basically collapsed on our server because of the brackets shrinking to the point where there is only one bracket 1 spot. Neither of these situations are "healthy" for the server and are contributing to the death spiral we've seen occur. I'm more worried that by the time the team does realize a merge is in fact necessary far too many people will have quit. -

If you merged Zeth with Anathema I guarantee most people will quit lol, they are so far ahead on progression it makes zero sense to merge them. Elysium doesn't even scratch the pop Nost PvP has so why not merge them? -

Or just merge the 1-2k people left on Zeth into Elysium? We still wouldn't break 10k on that combined realm. They are on same progression. -
Honestly, I wasn't expecting it to be the same pop as Elysium by any means, but I think everyone was pretty shocked by how quickly Zeth died. Personally I thought it would have stabilized around 3k, but it just continued to tank with no signs of stopping.

+1 for Fiers, he has a much better first hand experience with the ranking situation than I do on Zeth. The staff's current view that the PvE/PvP scene on Zeth'Kur is stable and healthy is frankly, delusional. The reason why we are making so much noise on discord and the forums is because we are trying to tell the staff what is actually going on in our little corner of the project. Things are not all peachy unfortunately.

To the people who think the population on Zeth'Kur is "fine", think about how much people we've lost in these short two months. If Zeth'Kur was stable like our peers on Darrowshire I'd agree with the argument that "2-3k is comfy quit bitching" which is what most anti-mergers come up with, but the server is NOT stable at all. We have new lows almost every day, we reached the low 600s for the first time this week and it doesn't look like it is slowing down. We no longer break 2k on average with Sunday (the day which the remaining raid guilds raid) being the most recent time we've hit that number. New players aren't making characters on Zeth'Kur, they are making them on the realm named after the project (Elysium - I still think naming it was a massive mistake). Zeth was never on an even playing field either as our server was released far too late after Elysium was (people were already in the 20s/30s and weren't willing to reroll), so from the very beginning Zeth'Kur was doomed. The staff themselves seem to have a bit of a delusional outlook on Zeth with Shenna herself regarding the PvP and PvE scene on the server "healthy" despite the amount of raid guilds collapsing/poaching each other just to continue to raid. The PvP scene is even worse with the entire number 1 premade on Alliance quitting last week due to the shrinking brackets. If you're horde on Zeth'Kur, you might as well give up any aspirations of ranking due to the que times. Another problem is the North American population dying out, they are the first community to "die" as a whole on Zeth, once they are gone the EU peak times will be even lower and may cause a snowball effect of people leaving the server (more than they already are). I understand the arguments regarding "server community" or "economy", but only one of those things is an actual issue. The economy question can easily be fixed by either introducing gold caps on the merger or limiting what items will be brought over (gear only for example), while server specific "community" argument is a bit of a non-starter due to the community on Zeth collapsing and clamoring for a merger (outside of the few people leveling in empty zones loving it). Right now more and more people are content with leaving their characters to rot on Zeth while waiting for a "merger" that will never come. tl;dr just merge this before things get worse -
The issues regarding economy could be addressed in any potential merger, I understand that issue however. While the pop has fallen to about medium to low pop "blizzlike", this is still not an excuse to not merge the realm as trends continue to show a hemorrhaging of players week in and week out. Just a few weeks ago we were breaking 3k, now we've only broken 2k once in the past 7 days. The million dollar question we all have is how low do we have to drop where a merge is warranted? And even then, would it be too late to have any real impact of salvaging all those Zeth'Kur players who quit? As for the PvP population issue, we are already seeing that with brackets shrinking to where there is only one bracket 1 spot as entire premades have quit the realm for greener pastures. A lot of raid guilds have either folded or were cannibalized by the handful of raid guilds still active (you can count them on one hand). This simply is not sustainable or healthy for the community on our realm. Thank you for the reply though, its nice to finally get a response out of the staff about Zeth.
-
When is the staff going to address the problem regarding Zeth'Kur's population? Guilds are falling apart, the ranking scene is dying due to the brackets, and each day we have a new low in the triple digits. The longer you guys ignore this, the worse things will get on our realm until far too many people have quit and we are stuck with a Kronos-tier experience.

Server merge desprestly needed

You realize Old Elysium and Anathema were merged, correct? They have plenty of experience moving databases around, most recently they did it with Nostalrius xfers. -
Server merge desprestly needed
indi replied to ogtucker117's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Lots of members of the community called out the 4th server being unnecessary due to the amount of people who would quit after the initial hype. We also weren't able to predict the amount of drama that would follow that certainly had an impact on the servers overall population. Its only been two months and Zeth is basically dead and Elysium's own population has nearly halved, why not merge the two and consolidate resources and the community under one banner? -
Server merge desprestly needed
indi replied to ogtucker117's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
We can't even break 2k anymore on Zeth, we've consistently lost our playerbase throughout these past two months and the death spiral will only continue as more and more guilds fold and people take breaks hoping for a merge. Its honestly really sad atm on Zeth. Merge is needed. -
Elysium -> Zeth'kur Transfers
indi replied to Jellydonut's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Transfers won't save Zeth'Kur, we are already locked in a death spiral and Elysium doesn't have the extremely excessive population it once had either with around 7.5k being your average peak. The servers need a merge, the pvp/ranking community is already collapsing, guilds are cannibalizing each other, there is a new low every day, etc. People want to transfer to where the community is and that is on Elysium, not Zeth'Kur. -
Server merges for cost effectivization and population increase.
indi replied to Storfan's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
That is just your opinion then, but the graphs show a negative trend in population. It isn't tenable to continue to support a 4th server in Zeth'Kur, especially from a monetary and manpower stand point. There is no need either to be so hostile either, I am just presenting data that shows a negative trend and suggesting a solution. Bottom line is the servers need a merge, it will be good for everyone to be playing on a (hopefully) stable PvP server. -

indi replied to Storfan's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
There isn't "10k elysium players" anymore, try 6-7k. A combined server would put us around 8k on big time peaks, maybe 9k if we were lucky and the population didn't continue to drop week by week. The issue has gone beyond "lol you rolled on the lower pop server" to the project as a whole starting to feel the effects of population loss. Right now the project is divided by four different servers, including Zeth'Kur which costs 310 Euros per month to host. That is just not tenable to continue supporting and funding a server that will soon dip below the four digit mark on average. There is more to think about than feeling entitled that your realm should be closed off because you think the leveling was harder or something.
