    Time for fresh server

You do realize that a. fresh server has the least amount of content and b. it's the same nost source code that runs on nost pvp, right? It's the holidays so they are busy with family stuff and it's no secret they are favoring old servers. There's many reasons to delay elysium pvp, server not being ready is not one of them.

    Time for fresh server

I have been playing Diablo 3 while I wait. No point in playing on nost pvp at all if I am not going to stick around. You just need to find something else to do until the server releases. They're clearly not going to release the server before they want to.

    Reducing Ping for players.

I'm running at 180mb through cox with a decent gaming pc and I get 200-250ms on the west coast. You have to communicate with a server hosted in France and that's the issue. Probably not much we can do about it. It also depends on what zone you are in and how many players are in that zone. I'm getting 187ms in Darnassus at the moment with 8.2k on the server.

    The hate from retail

I go over sometimes for the sole purpose of seeing how many people are complaining about retail and how badly blizzard is messing up. Anyway seriously who cares about what retail players think about vanilla servers, let's just enjoy our version of the game.

    Whats with the griefing posts?

Heh actually human behavior and social interaction is something I find really interesting and like to think I know quite a lot about, it's something I have been into for many years. Anyway these are just my personal thoughts and opinions on the matter, please feel free to disagree and present your own opinions as much as you like. Looking forward to the ganking bruh <3 I'll be on the fresh pvp server if you're around.

To argue the other side a bit - I think the danger of pvp happening at any time outside the first couple safe starter zones actually makes the game more fun. I don't have any interest in pve servers because I want that pvp gameplay. It may suck being "ganked" by someone else twice your level but that is much more realistic and exciting than coming across someone of the opposite faction and not having the choice to attack them. You are not supposed to be friends, you're not supposed to like them. I think playing on a pve server would be a shame because you lose that tension and layer of interaction and gameplay. You also lose some feel of community as well. I fondly remember people being notorious because they were really big into pvp and were "hated" and well known on both sides. There's a lot of fun to be had on pvp servers that pve server players never get to experience.

I understand that, the decision to be a dick is what I meant by having maturity and personality issues. I don't mind being ganked, it's part of playing on a pvp server whether anyone likes it or not and if someone can't accept that then they should not have rolled on a pvp server to begin with. It's also part of the lore and setting of the game as we all know the crumbling truce between horde and alliance has all but evaporated. At the end of the day if someone derives pleasure from that behavior then I say grief lowbies to your heart's content, I don't believe in restricting people's ability to do this. Freedom to do what you want within the game's rules and built in mechanics is a great thing

In my experience and from what I know there's two kinds of people who enjoy this. First is the kind of person who just isn't right mentally and the second is the person who is so bored and has nothing left to do that killing people who can't fight back is an enjoyable activity. I vaguely remember a few rare times when this activity appealed to me back when I was a teenager playing WoW 10 hours a day but it really doesn't stay fun for long. It's definitely a sign of someone who has problems with empathy and maturity (you could do a lengthy study on this behavior and the mentality of people who do this). There's also the whole power trip/fantasy thing. These days with my 30th birthday fast approaching this kind of thing is really pathetic imo but everyone is different. Different maturity levels, different tastes, etc.
  12. edit: I guess I'll retest to see what actually changes because more things do improve than I thought
  13. I'm sure you could but would it feel like WoW then? A lot of people myself included really love the look and feel of vanilla.
  14. I actually tested it out one day and added every single line in, the difference is tiny imo. I wouldn't bother with it. The higher resolution that Pishy mentioned might be the secret.
