The nost servers will definitely grab some of the playerbase because of the delay of elysium by a month or possibly more depending on if russian holidays get in the way. I am expecting fresh server to have the largest population overall because of both new players in general but also because lots of people are interested in the vanilla-launch like experience and the experience of playing on a brand new, untouched server. There are many, many reasons I could list why people would roll on fresh but that's another topic. Roll a character on nost pvp, enjoy your time there and then depending on your tastes stay there or roll on fresh pvp later.

I can't stand what retail has been since cataclysm or so, having said that my biased opinion is they are mad because retail is garbage and we have the chance to play a version of the game that will have a great community of tight-knit players who are passionate about playing the way they want. They don't have that anymore, it's impossible because of the way blizzard has ruined the game and they know that. They are paying money into an inferior version of the game, that stings and tends to make people upset. Some of their anger/negativity comes from their inability to let go of a version of the game that has become so shallow and soulless and is in constant decline, no matter how many garbage expansions blizzard wants to release to temporarily boost subscriptions and entice the suckers who continue to pay for them and support blizzard's bad decisions. It's all a big mental mess, people don't like that we have something better and they are stuck with over-casualized, meaningless trash.

This is what happens when you wait 9+- months for Nost to return.

I would rather they stick with the current server plans and just weather the storm. We will have many months (years?) to play and things will normalize and become a lot more playable in time. My concern is having a 4th server would just mean they have to merge later, or refuse to merge and mess with people's progression and characters and then we have a dead server. Patience young padawans.

I am rolling on fresh and want to start hardcore nolifing with my guild just as much as anyone else. I am just not being a baby about it. Discussing it is pointless, there's a method to the release order and it's not likely to change.

Being disappointed about not getting a release date for elysium pvp is so trivial that I didn't bother addressing it but sure, some people are disappointed. You planning on requesting days off ahead of time to play a game? All the release date announcement means is pve players arn't getting totally shafted and forced to wait for two other pvp servers to launch, which is awesome for them. We knew elysium would be later, that's all we need to know right now.

The choices are either play on the first server available because you just want to get in or wait. It's not releasing old servers first just for the sake of people who willingly choose to roll there, there is an entire established community who were here first and their characters are going to be on those servers. New blood should never come first, respect to the OGs.

Releasing fresh at the same time would only cause old pvp to die faster than it inevitably will. At least this way the impatient kiddos will roll on old pvp because they can't wait and a lot of them will stay there. I hope a lot of them roll old pvp and stay so we don't have to deal with them when my server finally releases /fingerscrossed

Best bet would be setting yourself up with a guild that has lots of members. Guild discords with a decent amount of members and conversations going on is a good bet. That way you are not only set up with people ready to quest when the server launches but also already in a good position for raiding. The connections you make with them will help with everything you do ingame.

I wouldn't even say 1-2 second input delay is playable because it makes the game suck to play. I'll have a hard time sticking to leveling if I have to put up with that garbage.

Old players/community deserves their servers first, if they released fresh first it would be a total madhouse with extended overpop issues and offering a fresh start alternative right off the bat would hurt the pop of the older servers. Never seemed that difficult to understand.

God I hope not, that was one of the most annoying things in the game.

I'll be playing nonstop but not concerned about exactly where the top hardcore/nolifers will be progression wise. My statements were more generally pointing towards the fact that overall we will all be starting fresh and more on less at the same content. Definitely not going to rush leveling, I'm going hardcore but enjoying all the content. No point in rushing imo as I am here to enjoy all the things and relive my teenage years when I did nothing but play WoW. I'm already set up with a great guild with good people who are itching to get playing, do dungeon runs for all the gear/keys, crafting stuff etc and raiding.

It's too bad we can't increase grass draw distance, it's the only thing that has ever bothered me. Almost all those commands are set to max already by maxing out all the ingame settings in the options menu.

I don't care for most of the new models either but there's no reason to care if other people want them, it's not like you would see them or be effected in any way. You can be a fan of vanilla without taking it too far and being a jerk about it. I like the old models and the idea of being as pure vanilla as possible. I doubt they will change their stance on this though as like others have said it invites problems and is unnecessary. We all know why we are here and vanilla models are part of the game.

I find it helpful to rationalize like this, do I want a medium pop server with the playerbase all over the place level and progression wise or a brand new high pop server with everyone on an even playing field and at the same stage of content. Easy decision in my eyes but that's because I know exactly what I want in my play experience.

I'm playing on fresh start because I want a vanilla launch-like experience, a brand new progression server starting with the oldest content, an even playing field with everyone starting at level 1 and leveling together, to relive my vanilla memories from day 1 hour 1 as if WoW had just launched in 2004 with all the hype and newness, and I want to play on the most populated server with the largest community. In a much shorter form, I want: a brand new fresh server that has just been born and the larger, more active community that will play there. An older server with level 60s with gear and in the middle of progression doesn't have the same appeal. It's not going to feel or play the same. That's my two cents anyway.

I guess we should be thankful you are not the one to make that call. I imagine your ideal chat would drive me insane.

I'm having a hard time seeing the issue. I'm all for a world chat if people want to /join that and be part of it. I played nolifer style from vanilla to about halfway through mists more or less and didn't even know /world was ever a thing. I kind of get the whole keep barrens chat preserved because apparently you really dig that but from my perspective if people want something like that all the time then they have the option to use it. I don't see any problem with that and I am on board with the idea of keeping an authentic vanilla experience. I'd probably get annoyed with /world and the constant sillyness but I won't know until I see what people say. Honestly I probably won't use the channel and would just stick to the official ones.
