Why it would bring more players? I shouldn't really need to answer that. There is a reason these posts appear. I really don't get why you waste energy on this thread as you have no interest of using this potential patch anyway. I know the TOS, and people make this threads because they want it to be allowed, isn't that obvious? Exceptions can only be made if people want something to change.

It might bring more players, and some players might find the game more enjoyable.What's wrong with that? You don't need to spend a second of your life thinking about it. It's not affecting anyone else than those who choose to use them. You say they can play on the other servers who allow them, which is true. Or they can play here, if the devs allow it.

The only argument with substance that has been put up is that it possibly could take time/energy that the dev's could use on something the project itself. The rest is nothing but meaningless bashing and personal opinions on how people should play the game.

This will affect the entire community, not relevant to what I'm suggesting.

I never said that, and I don't expect them to prioritize this. I just don't think they should write it off completely, atleast consider it since it might bring in more players in the long run.

It's easy if they cooperate with the creator himself, like other servers have done. It's really not a problem.

It has been done with several other servers, and I have talked to the creator himself. His mod is getting more and more popular, so it's "easy" to distinguish his patches from other ones. Cheating by patch mods is not a problem on these servers.

You are after the same result, which is improved graphics. The only difference is the approach. Does that make sense?

The argument have been that other people can exploit this, making use of patches to cheat. But as I've said several times, they can choose to whitelist this specific mod, and not allow others like some servers have. It's totally voluntarly to use it, so I don't really understand the hate either.

Same principle as having mods. If this is allowed, then graphical improval mods should aswell.

Not an argument, and it would be silly to have the attiude of not wanting to draw more potential people. As several projects have proved, population dwindle fast.

I asked before and they said no. Even tough its super easy to whitelist ONLY the updated models, which other servers have done. This will draw even more people to the project. I wish the team could reconsider, and have a chat with the makers of the mod in order to come to some kind of conclusion.
