  1. Hi, I'm having an issue with a macro and wondering if it's the macro itself or if it's something configured differently on Elysium. I'm on the TBC realm. Anyway, my macro looks like this: #showtooltip Ambush /cast Pick Pocket /cast Ambush The only thing that happens is ambush. No pickpocket. I used this macro when TBC was retail and never had a problem with it. No idea why it's not working now.

    What is PvP stands for?

I don't have the manual, I mean I had it in 2005 but I don't have it. If you have it, then just answer the question and then we don't have to have this forum PvP right? Anyways, have a good weekend dude.

    What is PvP stands for?

You could just answer the question instead of being smug about it like so many people here. I was trying to be helpful to the OP but man some of you posters on here make it tough. I guess I should just stay a lurker.

    What is PvP stands for?

So what was it used for in vanilla? I never PvP'd much so obviously I remembered wrong. Is it just for show?

    What is PvP stands for?

PvP stands for player versus player. That means you are fighting another live human like yourself. This can happen out in the game world or in battlegrounds. When you play on a PvP server, there are certain zones which are contested, meaning when you run across a player from the other faction, as in you are alliance and they are horde, you can attack each other. This can be fun and thrilling, and it can be very frustrating at times when someone who is much higher level than you kills you in one shot and keeps killing you over and over because they're bored. PvE means player versus environment and that is you killing everything else like in dungeons, quest mobs, rabbits and critters, etc... When you kill another player of similar or above your level, you get honor, which is basically the PvP equivalent of XP. You can buy gear with honor, ask the city guards or in game ask other people where the honor vendors are. I know in Stormwind it's in the section east of the main part of town, I can't remember the names anymore. For horde, I don't know where it is because I never played horde all that much but I'm positive it would be in Orgrimmar since that's the main city for them. There are quests in all the battlegrounds I believe, and I can't remember but I would assume that they would give you honor as a reward rather than XP. Forgot to add, if you kill another player who is much lower level than you, you get no honor and I believe there's a debuff in vanilla that you get for dishonorable kills and city guards will be pissed at you.

    Hello (and an honest question)

Yes it is. There's a PvE server which I'm playing on and it's packed with players too, I have no problem recommending it.
  7. Yeah that would help wouldn't it lol. Alliance, currently in Darkshore.
  8. I'm currently level 15 and want to grind away on yellow mobs (no chance of pulling agro from close by hostile mobs). I just want to pull a mob and auto-attack it to death while I alt-tab to outlook/chrome at work so I can at least get xp throughout the day rather than just on weekends but obviously I can't just leave my character out in the open with hostile mobs nearby so where can I find yellows around my level. I used to do this on retail but I can't remember the rights spots anymore, it's been so long. Thanks
  9. Ditto from me, a big big thank you, I can't wait to relive the glory days!
  10. That's what I think too. I'm going to play on the Nost server in the beginning because I need my crack but once the fresh server comes out, I'm going to go play over there.
  11. I love vanilla and a big reason why I'm excited about this project is what I hope is going to be a big population. I miss seeing hundreds of people congregating in Ironforge between the bank and AH and out in the world questing. I'd like to be on the highest pop server and I know this is all speculation at this point but what do you think? It seems to me like there's a lot of excitement about the fresh server but I'm worried that the Nost servers rolling out first will eat some of the player base.
  12. I'm just curious, when you run a private server, do you have to recreate all the content or does the client take care of that? I'm talking about the quests, mob locations, NPCs, items and drops, etc... Does the emulated server only handle connecting players together and running the database that keeps the game alive, net code, or does it have to be programmed with everything? If so, that's a massive undertaking!
