Blizzard shut down nostalrius awhile ago elysium is rehosting the database with their characters as of dec 17th 2016. The fresh server elysium on Jan 7th wont allow you to transfer a character from anywhere you have to make a new one. As far as playing on nostalrius goes does playing 1-16 or whatever level and then playing on fresh instead sound fun ? will leveling 1-16 be for fun for you? If yes play if not don't play. The teams are separate and won't work together. Some of the gm's from nostalrius joined elysium. The elysium team is doing what the nostalrius team won't and that is hosting the servers.

Theres gonna be an assload of people on elysium. Its gonna be laggy as shit and crash. You aren't going to be wishing there were more people you'll be wishing there was less so you can actually play the game lol. This coming from someone who is very much looking forward to the new server.

I mean hes not wrong at all. My guild was an okayish guild as far as progression went we cleared mc bwl all of aq40 except cthun and killed spider wing razivious noth gothik in naxx. And there were some players in my guild that had very little idea how to play and wouldn't take criticism at all. Hell we had one warrior who half the time all he would do is spam hamstring for more windfury procs without using blood thirst and whirlwind at all.

Paladin in my opinion comes out far far ahead of shaman in pve and pvp. Windfury is amazing, but salvation and kings comes out ahead in pve ( human racial working for both rogues and warriors compounds on this too). Pvp paladin by far being able to remove magic debuffs have uninterrupted invunerable healing for 12 seconds and being able to put sacrifice on unlimited targets to be unccable by any cc that breaks on damage is just broken. Paladins are pretty hard to run oom as well. Blessing of protection and blessing of freedom are insane utility both removable by purge / dispel magic, but sometimes all it takes is 1 or 2 seconds of them to completely turn a battle. Honestly if more paladins healed in pvp instead of playing ret alliance would be the dominant pvp faction even with horde having WoTF warstomp and orc stun resist (to be fair gnome racial is great for melee and stoneform isn't too bad either + fear ward).

Well meeting stones were a sort of dungeon finder you could even join the queue from inn keepers as referenced here. It didnt port you to the dungeon or anything, but it formed groups. Patch 1.5.0 (2005-06-07): Innkeepers around the world now have a gossip option that lets you join a meeting stone directly from the innkeeper rather than going to the location of the meeting stone. Also these Innkeepers will now have background lore about each of the dungeons. Levels Required for meeting stones have been increased. The intent is that a group will not receive party members from a meeting stone that don't really have a chance of completing the dungeon. Meeting Stones have had their rules for what players are grouped with what other players relaxed. Tunneling services like wtfast can possibly help depending on the route your isp takes to reach the server. Using no tunneling service, but using the registry edit fix I have 112 to 125 ms from east coast USA. I can't imagine from west coast you can get much lower then 200 maybe 180 in best case scenario though I may be wrong.

Nah i just googled nostalrius of toughness affix was the top result.

Holy paladins are by far and beyond the best pvp healers. Next I would say is priests then shamans then druids (shamans better vs casters and druids better vs melee). That's not to say you can't do fine as other healers, but if you're put into a situation vs players your skill level or higher that hierarchy and gear will matter. Forgot to list why oops. Paladins have bubble obviously 12 seconds of uninterrupted healing is a seriously long time in vanilla. Blessing of sacrifice has no cool down and can be put on unlimited targets such as pets to make you uncc'able for cc that breaks on damage such as gouge blind sheep rocket helm etc. blessing of protection if you're vs physical damage is a god send and lets casters free cast uninterrupted it can be dispeled but due to junk buffs and the nature of rng it can stay on longer at times. Even then sometimes 1 or 2 seconds of bop are enough to get a clutch cc off or win a fight. Freedom for your dps to not be kited or to kite people is huge as well. Magic dispel is really important in pvp for roots novas sheeps seduces etc. Biggest downside of paladin is no offensive dispel like priests and shaman and all your heals are casted besides the 30 second holy shock which does some but not a whole lot of healing.

In my experience the best thing you can do as a low level warrior is mark a skull (you can key bind marks) on something that dies fast like a non elite or a caster , don't bother trying to get threat on it as dps can tank something flimsy while everyone focuses it down you can taunt it if you feel like you need to which will give you a bit more time / rage. What you should be doing is focusing tab sunder on the remaining mobs of the pull with extra sunders on the next mob you want the dps to kill. Try not to heroic strike as its gonna eat up your rage generation by turning your white swing into a yellow only use heroic strike if you have excess rage. And finally you don't have to use up all your rage on the end of the pull if there's one mob left and your taunt is up just white swing at it so you can start the next pull with 50 + rage using blood rage to refresh it so it doesn't all drain. Blood rage is also a tiny bit of agro on pull so they don't all run for the healer off 1 hot tick or whatever. Also once you get berserker rage you can pop into berserker stance pop it and go back defensive and then you will have a lot of rage as it increases rage generation from damage taken. Berserker rage comes later on though at level 32.

Eh I dislike that it got fixed it discourages grouping which sucks, but the same can be said about how experience gets divided vs solo. Either way you couldn't loot more then one quest item except named from one kill so its blizz like.

I wonder if they're trying to nerf some of DM E to prevent so many instances from going on at once for server load purposes. I highly doubt they really care about the gold being farmed, but I could see them trying to fix hundreds of people from each having their own instance going on.

Well if you collect raid gear you can probably pvp fine on any them. if no raid gear I'd prob choose hunter or warlock but mage would be miles ahead w/ no raid gear imo.

I would say mage is definitely what you wanna go with. But if you're going to raid any class is fine as raid gear especially bwl + is equal or better then r14 in pvp

They'll probably follow suite of everquest and we'll see legacy one day, but it will be on a new client with new talent trees and be an abomination. It also probably wont happen until they start to really lose money on a noteworthy level.

I think the dynamic spawns on nost pvp are fine for the amount maybe in the human area it needed to go a bit higher. I do think when elysium is released they should increase the spawn rates since every single character will be in the start areas and the faster players are out of the start area the faster the lag will subside.

My friends token says its already consumed he has the original email / login and gets the token generated fine. Any ideas / help to be had? I even tried logging in for him and requesting a token but get the same message.

it says you don't have any characters yet on that page, my account on the other hand doesn't say that after the transfer i also got a different message about joining your friends in azeroth when i entered the token And no his characters aren't on my login before anyone asks if we screwed that up

Back in the day up until wrath you could. All you had to do was drop group before u did the pull and do the pull before kick timer runs out then reinvite to get rid of timer rinse repeat. This is how I pl'd a few peoples characters though I didn't start doing it till tbc the mechanics are the same in classic.
