So much for elysium VANILA !

You have about a 20 second window after you kill a mob to loot and skin it. I've skinned my mobs as well as other people's mobs with no issue what so ever.

    Server First Loremaster!

I’ll have you know I got to be top of my class in my guild, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Molten Core, and I have over 300 honorable kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top ganker in Stranglethorn Vale. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on Azeroth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the Eastern Kingdoms and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, night elf. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, tree-hugger. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the SI:7 and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it.
  4. He's got to be trolling. Nobody can be that aggressively selfish, short-sighted and impudent.
  5. Percentages are about the same as they are now (60-40 on PvE and 48-52 on PvP) although they usually peak at 6k and 10-11k PvE and PvP respectively on EU prime time.

    What class?

The issue I have about playing Warlock is that it's pretty hard to play it on the Alliance side. You basically have a choice between a good looking Human with worthless racials and Gnomes with somewhat good racials but they're Gnomes and why the heck would you play that. Also, you're going to be up against a faction which is going to roll at least 60% Forsaken.
  7. You have so much time to level, there's no point in rushing it and you should just give it a couple of weeks after launch to settle down. My advice? Start leveling a character on Nost PvP, that way you'll have something to do in the meantime and something to do when the servers go down or lag too much on Elysium.

    Server First Loremaster!

How can you prove others you've done the Loremaster achievement without there being an...achievement for it?
  9. It always balances out somehow, I never understood that.
  10. Certainly, but I believe there's more to it than just "keeping it Blizzlike". You have to consider that the fresh server will be the default go-to for everyone who's going to want to play after the 7th. There's some argument to be made about pacing it slower to allow newer players to catch up but evidently not slow enough as to cause everyone to lose interest in the server. I think 2-3 months added to those 4-5 months an average player would need to level and raid falls somewhere in this description. Yes, it will be slower for us - but we know exactly what we're getting into and I'm certain we can manage 2-3 months of leveling alts or just getting a life and doing something else. Nighthold comes out around 2 weeks after Elysium launches and most people are going to be sick of it within 1 month into the patch, maybe more / less depending on how much game time they've got. If we get enough publicity, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a big wave of new players to be arriving around February / March after they're done with that raid. What I'm saying might sound a bit far-fetched but there's still a point to be made about delaying content to allow the new players to settle in our servers.
  11. People complaining it's too slow for them have no idea what slow means. Anyone who thinks 7 months for 60 levels of vanilla quests and dungeons with two raids to go with that is content drought hasn't played on retail in the past three expansions. Try surviving for more than a year doing the same raid over and over again and you'll see how 7 months of traveling, questing, leveling professions, leveling alts, going into dungeons, grinding factions, acquiring epic mounts, doing relevant PvP etc. in a world where people can't just strap on some heirlooms and never have to interact with anyone ever again until they start raiding in Mythic perhaps - all of this, is nothing to be depressed about. I think a lot of people are missing the point about the main reason people want to start on the fresh server: it's there that people have enough time to level and raid at the pace they want. If some people can clear the content within 1-2 months of release, that's fine by me - but they need to understand that if Elysium would start releasing content like that for the sake of pleasing hardcore tryhards coming from Nost PvP then they'd be alienating the vast majority of their player base (both current and future) from the experience of being around the average playing field of everyone else.
  12. Besides balancing the classes? I'd continue to add level 60 content relevant to people who did not want to participate in playing the TBC expansion. I have this dream about a "World of Warcraft: Expanded Universe" where we DO NOT follow the heroes who've crossed over the Dark Portal to stop Illidan and the Burning Legion, where we don't follow the heroes who traveled to Nortrhend to stop the Lich King even - no, I have a dream where a significant portion of the game is devoted to those who stayed behind to fend off local dangers, gather resources for those fighting in Northrend or Outland, continue the fight against the opposing faction in who knows what development. We could implement all sorts of raids and content based on what we know is going to happen lorewise during Cataclysm. I could see questing areas, dungeons and raids being added such as: Assault on Maestra's Post (both Alliance and Horde must play through the siege of Astranaar and defense of Maestra's Post, both sides involve an assault phase and a "we have to run for our lives" phase as well, the latter being done in the spirit of "Halls of Reflection" dungeon) Gates of Uldum as we fight against the wind elementals and tol'vir of the Neferset tribe pouring in and out of the gate Northwatch Hold (Alliance) and Southshore (Horde) campaign Various campaigns against all sorts of factions in different areas: demons at the portal, centaurs in Desolace, Shadow Council in the Eastern Kingdoms etc. And so many other things I could see being implemented to keep the Universe alive and evolving in parallel to the main story. The rewards could either be cosmetic or comparable to quest / raid gear of previous patches to keep the main raids of vanilla relevant.

    5-man without healer

Shadow priests can still heal in low level dungeons especially if everyone knows what they're doing and you don't have people constantly pulling extra creeps, breaking CC and doing stuff like that. Don't rely on Vampiric Embrace as it doesn't really heal for that much. From a healer's perspective it's pretty terrible because it overheals when it doesn't have to and it doesn't provide enough healing when it needs to.

    Horde Paladin*

In Vanilla, the Paladin was an Alliance only class similar to how the Shaman is a Horde only class. This changed at the launch of The Burning Crusade expansion with the introduction of Blood Elves for the Horde and Draenei for the Alliance, because Blood Elves could be Paladins and Draenei could be Shamans. The short answer: no, not on this server. It can't and won't happen unless the devs decide to release a Burning Crusade server which is completely out of the question for now. It might happen some years down the line after we finish the vanilla content or it might not happen at all.
  15. I've played Horde all of my life on retail and decided to give Alliance a shot on Nostalrius. My experience? The main cities are absolutely amazing compared to the TB and Orgrimmar. The leveling areas and progression overall are much better designed and the whole world feels fresh and renewed to me because I've missed so many stories and areas all my life. No more Barrens and since I know every Horde leveling area, main routes and cities I definitely have an advantage in terms of knowing where I can and can't go to level / gank / travel etc. As for Humans, I had the same "ugh why would you play human in WoW when you can play as human IRL" but it doesn't really go like that. As much as I'd love to swing my sword at other's people heads to collect loot from them or put my hands together to throw fireballs around my house, life is a bit more complicated than that.
  16. Should / would / could don't make for compelling arguments and neither what you think is logical or what anyone says he "remembers" about the game. What he is describing has been in the game since vanilla and it will stay this way. My guess is that the snare is only checked for and applied at the start of the spell and not at every tick of damage the spell does - hence why if you're immune to movement impairing effects, the damage will still go through. When a druid shapeshifts, he removes the movement impairing snare debuff and the game doesn't check for it again until the cast finishes and starts again with a new application of the snare.

    Factions at Elysium PvP

I wouldn't bet on it because most of those guilds are PvE anyway. They're just trying to recruit a stable rooster because they're bored and anxious for the launch so they want to feel like they're doing something productive in the meantime, something that might give them the edge over others / other guilds which are going to be forming when the server starts.

    Pally vs. Shaman

I'd say to go for Alliance because you've probably missed out half this game by playing Horde only.
  19. You are most definitely wrong about this. Feel free to Google this and read all the posts and advice given on the forums dating back from 2008 about druids being able to shapeshift out of Mind Flay. It's on every wiki, wowhead and thottbott post and advice you'll ever find on this topic. As for the range bug you are talking about, I believe you are confusing matters a bit: Mind Flay had a 20 yd range in both vanilla and TBC. This range could further be extended (and often was) by 20% with the Shadowy Reach talent, going up to 24 yd range. I believe that's where you're getting the "lingering effect" from, especially since in WoTLK they upped Mind Flay to a 30 yd range and still kept the talent which meant you could land your Mind Flay from up to 36 yds.
  20. Hahaha, it's alright mate! OP made 3 threads about how he "remembers" things so far, now it's time to debunk the 30 yard range on Mind Flay.
  21. Can you refer exactly to what moment you are seeing this thing being performed? What you might be seeing could be for a whole lot of reasons, namely: * attackers missing their swing on slow 2H weapons (saw he was dueling some pallies) * Power Word: Shield preventing spell pushback * Martyrdom talent causing Focused Casting to proc after a critical strike (this is the likely culprit) * Unbreakable Will talent causing a full resist on a Stun, Fear or Silence
  22. Spell pushback was not limited to any number of hits in both vanilla and TBC, though I remember it was less of an issue once they actually fixed haste in an early BC patch to benefit casters and reduce GCD as well. It's how it's suppose to function I'm afraid. It's broken and unfair, sure - but going to a private vanilla server asking for a QoL change they added two expansions down the line is a bit strange to me.
  23. Play on both servers. If one goes down for whatever reason, you'll have something to do on the other!
  24. I'm interested in playing on the fresh server and one of the things I'll definitely want to do at max level is going to be World PvP events. I've played Horde all of my life and decided I would try playing Alliance this time for a change. I'm trying to judge how World PvP is currently on Nostalrius to get an idea on what it would likely be like on the Elysium server as well - and while I agree this is not at all accurate and there's always a chance that Elysium might turn out completely different, I am just worried I might not be playing into this faction with the right mindset. I'm not making any solid judgments here and I would really like to be wrong on my presumptions, which is why I'd like to hear your opinions on this topic. With that in mind, I have two questions for you: Question#1 Why is it that most Alliance players seem to prefer playing on the PvE server? On Nostalrius PvP, the ratios are generally balanced at around 48-52 A:H ratio, however Nostalrius PvE heavily favors the Alliance with a 60:40 A:H ratio on average. Question#2 Most videos and montages on Youtube about World PvP on Nostalrius seem to be Horde sided. To add to that, the fresh server already has an experienced recruiting Horde guild entirely devoted to World PvP with no such counterpart for the Alliance as of yet. Do you think that's an actual reflection of how Alliance players treat World PvP in general? Thank you in advance for your answers.

    Crestfall Exodus

I don't think that many people will want to leave for that server. There might be some people who think along the lines of "ugh, having 12k people online sucks" mentality but there's evidently at least 12k people who disagree with that and another 1-2k in queue to back them up. These people are the kind of players who like to act like tough edgelords online but will still suck it up to a 12k population rather than a 1k population any day of the week. As for the "PTE" concept, I don't really see what's so appealing about it because I really don't think they've thought this through. The TBC launch was by far the worst expansion launch by default and design because both the Alliance and the Horde were forced to start and go through Hellfire Penninsula. Can you comprehend the clusterваууk of having even 2k level 60 raid-geared players leveling through 1 zone in a PvP area at launch? People complain enough about the leveling experience at level 1 with 6 different starting areas and no PvP. Anyone who's gone through the TBC launch experience will confirm that for you. Oh, not to mention the community divide you're going to have once you'll have to split people into who wants to stay on vanilla and who wants to play on TBC if you're going to make them separate servers. That and the fact that any new players who are going to be quitting retail to play on a legacy server will most likely head for Nostalrius because publicity and population. Before you open your cunt mouths about "hurr durr I don't want any newfags around" you better realize that in order for a server to survive you need an influx of new players to balance the population else it dies out eventually. The fact that the server is still in beta and вау knows when it's going to be launched is also a bit of an issue. I don't know how many freshfags are going to want to put up with leveling another character on another server 6 months from now to raid the same raids for 1-2 years there just so they could have the opportunity to experience TBC one day.
