  1. From my understanding, the developers of Diablo/D2/D2LoD (AMAZING games btw, D3 plain sucked) were the original devs of WoW, but they ended up quitting because Blizzard wanted WoW to be something other than 'the perfect game'. That is why the devs supposedly went on to create Torchlight and Torchlight 2. Torchlight 2 was phenomenal, but they really ваууed up hard by making the servers open, therefore allowing mods etc. I'd play Torchlight 2 online via closed servers any day, but they don't have enough population.

Nost PvP - new healer question

Ele and Enh do not have class tier gear oriented towards those specs. They both can do ridiculous burst damage with the right gear, but both have somewhat low survivability. Resto shamans can live forever and then some and deal rather decent damage considering - plus their class tier gear is oriented for resto. You'll deal more damage but have HELL finding gear and raid groups as ele/enh but will do mountains of burst damage. Restoration will find raids all day long and have mountains of decent gear to collect, they deal low to moderate damage but have nice burst none the less with lightning shield/fire nova totem/windfury/chain lightning. If you really want a shaman your best bet is to go enh up to 60 then resto. Once you come across some decent gear for the offspecs, go for it - just remember you're not going to be very wanted for raids. Edit: If you manage to collect rank 12-14 pvp gear they work great with all specs, especially ENH.
  4. I got a feeling Nost is going to be around into TBC even, and the progression might be what sets off Blizzard.
  5. If you kill the hunter fighting the demon, does it despawn? If so, is that still considered demon despawning? All of these regulations and variables should just be combined into a 100 page rule E-book. Lowered respawn timer, cool, since it's an epic bow perhaps you should consider bringing friends to help guard you while you kill it?
  6. Lol @ get your suggestions out of the suggestion forum!
  7. Idk man I enjoyed 15k people the more the merrier.
  8. Said it before I'll say it again. It makes no difference giving invulnerable targets more HP.
  9. Jumping on my resto druid, buying some water, then heading to Redridge to gank as many players as possible for a few hours.
  10. This. It's not so much that extreme vanillers hate retail players, it's more that they can't honestly be nice to people that play a modernized version of a game with zero respect for what it originally was, let alone people that literally become upset over things people say on the internet. You would think all of these retailers would be excited to see what the game was originally like, at least to get a taste of how much WoW has evolved for better or worse. PvE and Retail are blah.
  11. I needed this. Will watch after I steamroll this ranked LoL match as Varus support. Did I mention nobody believes in me? Frock. #memorylaneasadruidtank
  12. Because they realized they spent so much money and time on something that sucks

    I want to play now!

Would be nice but there's really no such thing as a perfect start. Those D/C's were well into the lifespan of Nost, too.
  14. I feel like you've picked up a Russian word or two. 'Gopniks' xD I didn't come across that many Russians on the PvP. Maybe Russians are secretly pacifists?

    I want to play now!

To each their own. We had D/C's every 10 seconds to 30 minutes on Nost for 2 weeks there, nobody quit

    Thank-You Nostalrius-Elysium

Why don't we have more thank you threads? THANK you for bringing back Vanilla!

    New to all things vanilla

    ^^ This cannot be unseen.
  18. I am all for the core vanilla experience. However, giving invulnerable targets more HP doesn't make a lick of difference. There's been addons out there for this since the dawn of time anyways.
  19. Agreed. I don't see any harm in making test dummies show actual damage taken though. At the same time, who uses dummies? Go duel somebody or hunt down some enemies in WPvP.
  20. Out of curiosity, are you simply not allowed to demon despawn under any circumstance? Say for example, if you're questing and keep getting ganked by a 60 hunter, then you notice he's on the quest, and you make him fail, are you going to get banned? Is a player going to be banned if he unknowingly causes a demon despawn? Frankly I don't agree with griefing, but I also consider it a part of the game. Perhaps the demon should be placed on the edge of Ungoro Crater, away from everybody, with a spell that pushes people far enough back every second that they can't hit the hunter nor the demon. It's pretty lame that people can be banned just for farming, even if they are farming the tears of other players. Is there a list of illegal actions anywhere? I.e. can you gank on top of the building in Duskwood? How about in Redridge? If you're not allowed to then why isn't the access removed? Just overthinking things that don't pertain to me
  21. Technically there's a LOT of stuff that won't be Blizzlike - you just won't notice it unless you remember Vanilla as it was particularly well.

    Addons not allowed

I'm pretty psyched about AQ and Naxx on Nost. There will be plenty of opportunity to raid in guilds with members who have never even entered the likes of raid dungeons. The difficulty will be there still, but not to the same degree as prior to anybody ever stepping foot in said dungeons. We all miss the curveballs of new raid dungeons, the infinitely expensive wipes, the arguments and planning, the first kill, the sense of being the top few to even experience such epic end-game fights, the conversations about said accomplishments that spread across the land like wildfire. The goal of this topic and poll was to suggest and communicate about the idea of a hardcore vanilla experience. Harder bosses, no addons to guide us towards victory, the sensation of running that fine line between life and death from the moment that fight starts to the very end. It was never intended to suggest modifying the current servers. More of a, 'what if', and, 'down the line perhaps' scenario. I was also rather curious to see how people felt about boss difficulty and the use of addons.
  23. Sounds reasonable assuming when you attack practice dummies your damage shown is limited to 64. I don't use practice dummies though, so I wouldn't know. I'm more into practicing on Gnomes.
