Goodness. Is it that time of the month already? lol.

Blizzards first mistake was character scaling in the expansions. Every expansion makes the last version of the game utterly pointless to play. I wish they scaled gear and levels appropriately, i.e. a level 70 to a level 60 is like a level 60 to a level 50. After working for rank 14 in Vanilla then becoming useless in TBC, then working for full vengeful gear in TBC then finding out WOTLK is coming out shortly afterwards making my TBC gear useless, I was done. Gotta admit TBC was pretty awesome though, maybe even better than Vanilla. I honestly couldn't complain about the cross realm BG's. Queue times were God awful on a closed realm. I just like how they refined most of the issues that were experienced in Vanilla, especially character balance and hybrid gear.

and a wild Murloc appeared! No seriously, I hear that retail has their own version of Poke'mon built into the game now. Someone referred to WoW becoming the ultimate Omnigame. I'm sure we could come up with some kind of anti-addon system. It's not going to happen ofc. It'd be neat if there were a populated PvP fresh server dedicated to zero addons, I'd totally play on it.

I agree that banning VPN's all together would probably help. There's no reason for people to play with an altered IP anyways. Not sure how you'd go about banning Hotspot Shield etc though. Even then, I'm sure there would be workarounds to fool the system. The best way to stop gold farmers is to camp them. As far as DM goes, paying attention to gold behaviors of people constantly farming it might help. I.e. if they make tons of gold, but give away more than they receive. It just sucks that so much effort is needed to get rid of these people that could otherwise be used to make the server better etc.

Someone said that their intentions are to bring Nost back and the fresh PvP server is just a bonus. I lost sight of this because I want the fresh server so bad

I'm one of those players that can grow an ecosystem on his face. I like it when my character reflects my 18th century Lord look. Is it too much to ask for bigger, manlier beards on the male characters? Maybe the females too since they didn't have shaving cream back then. I was thinking something like this: Thoughts?

I heard of the 'Social Environment' WoW has become. It seems that everything Vanilla related has become a social issue. Because Retail WoW apparently teaches people that shiny stuff, ease of access, and minimal human-to-human interaction is the right way to experience a massively multiplayer online ROLE-PLAYING game. can you say 'phasing'? I would spontaneously combust IRL if world PvP became hit and miss. Maybe they're there, maybe they're not.

Right. Dwarf beards are decent (albeit still not THAT big). Orc beards make me feel like my e-girlfriend wanted to braid my фекал against my will. I just always felt like the beards were rather weak on WoW. I just... ARAHHHH!!! /beard suddenly grows 3 inches

The admins monitor chat and large gold transactions. They can and will find gold buyers/selling and either permanently ban their IP or simply ban their accounts. If, say, logs show a player farming large amounts of gold non-stop and 'giving' that gold to other players, chances are they're farming and will be banned. Nobody would farm all day just to give gold away. There's a balance to be considered - if the player has accumulated 3000g but has only spent 50g of it on basic gear on the AH, and 'gave' all that gold away (in the sense of not receiving anything even remotely close to the gold value), chances are they are selling the gold. They'll cross reference IP's, check chat logs, and make a decision on whether or not to ban that player and the 2 people he gave 1500g each to. I suppose they could give increments of the total gold sold per every couple days to stay under the radar, but even then, there's no logical reason for this aside from selling the gold, being ridiculously nice, or giving the gold to your main/alt (multiboxing isn't allowed unless one of the two characters [maximum 2] are in a main city at ALL times.) Not to mention that, as I said before, red flags pop up when a player is giving more than he is receiving.

Like any warrior spec, you'll be heavily gear reliant. If only shamans had dual wield in Vanilla

First thing I'm going to do when Nost opens is go to Red Ridge and gank every single player I possibly can. As a resto druid, Red Ridge is my playground.

I always burned large portions of time into world PvP. I prefer playing as Horde (can't stand alliance races) but I'm still debating on whether or not I want to roll Alliance on fresh just to have more long term pvp available (from my experience, Horde BG queues slow down while Alliance BG queues quicken as the server ages, and most importantly it seems more Horde search for PvP in the openworld than Alliance do). The thing that has me most psyched about fresh is how much world PvP there will be while leveling. ---drooooooool---

Faith, you inspired me to check out all of my classic screenshots. Unfortunately I can't remember my password, and apparently the e-mail I used got deleted for inactivity. Darn Gmail >=(. I have this screenshot of when I took my entire guild to Astranaar as my 46 druid (back when guards were only level 40) on a new server that I was one of the highest levels on. We had tons of fun, mountains of pvp. I just tanked all the guards while my 20-30 guildmates shredded everybody in town. Sometimes I had to jump into action when high levels came Nothing quite as fun as killing ?? players as a druid. /memorylane

It increases the immersion indirectly. For example: In a raid, if everybody has raid timers, decurse, etc.. then everyone can partially zombie mode the fight. However, if nobody has any of this extra accessibility and information it'll force the players to be that much more attentive and focused, requiring the use of their internal time clocks rather than an easymode HUD timer. . Plus, as an example, people won't level as fast without coordinates and questtracker, ultimately making them seek help from other players and spend more time exploring, in essence increasing the immersion for all players by creating a more tight knit community, increasing difficulty, and overall minimizing ease of access/data that isn't directly available through the original client options. I prefer honey over syrup any day. Maybe even some home made strawberry jam on top too with big berry hunks.

Agreed. On Nost we had to give rogues the lockbox for them to unlock. I remember on Vanilla we could have them unlock boxes via non-trade window in the trade.

I remember the first time I trained 2h axes. That 10s seemed like SO much. But I had enough left over to buy a semi-ok green axe on the AH. I felt like I could conquer the world afterwards.

Are we not allowed to queue with friends for BG's? How in the world can organized killing for PvP be detrimental? Why would GM's have to intervene if people are killing other people for PvP? Wouldn't it make more sense to let the other faction organize their own party to counter the original organized killing? It just sounds fishy. I could organize my own plan to farm rank and honor by myself. Does that mean I'll get in trouble?

Let's face it - the fresh realm is going to be utter madness. Which, coincidentally is AWESOME! Errbody is going to be using Joanas guide (exactly what happened on Nost, everyone was running the same exact quest routes) I'm just wondering if, because of the downtime we'll experience trying to get that first hit on a world miniboss for a quest/certain mobs for quest drops or even grinding in general, it might be infinitely more viable to speedrun dungeons for XP. I'm going to rush to 14-16 and see if I can't get a solid group for backtoback RFC, then WC, then SFK, so on so fourth. I love speedfarming dungeons. Maybe I'll make a guild dedicated to farming dungeons for XP and gear.

That's like saying, "You leveled to 60 as enhancement shaman and LOVED IT. You won't care though, that you have to respec as Resto if you want to experience end-game. Furthermore, even if you stayed enhancement, you will not have gear oriented towards your spec, therefore you will always be inferior to any meta class/spec unless you farm for the subpar non-tier gear which will take infinitely longer to obtain than the superior metaspec gear. " I agree, play what you love and you won't care.. until you realize that you're going to have to farm each individual dungeon/raid 100 times over for a single piece of BiS that won't have a powervalue near that of a tier drop which will take less time to obtain.

Have you been to school? Or did you even read the rules? The word 'organization' was never used, only 'organized.' The term 'organized' does not specifically regard more than one individual, let alone a group whatsoever. One can organize his plan of action for honor farming without another individual present. Edit: I can't help but to point out that you asked me if I've been to school when, in the same post regarding said question, you severely lacked grammatical and spelling skills. . Fun times.

Agreed. It's going to be hell either way. I gave up after my third disconnect. There's no fun to be had on the third stress test for me, but I will play the fresh server like a mother F'er even if it lags just as bad.

That's a large portion of what I was getting at aside from seeking the difficulty of raid bosses to the same degree as when WoW first came out.
