Fresh Start or my lvl 40 UD? Help me.
Xykaru replied to darklordsauron's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Seriously start fresh. Just do it. You won't regret it. The list of reasons is endless, but these reasons stand out for me - there will be MORE people than on Nostalrius and nobody has gold, nobody has gear, everyone is going to be in the same level range, nobody has done MC, every dungeon is going to be harder from 1-60 because you have no twinks, when you get to scholo etc, nobody is going to have any epics so it's going to be that much harder, and most important, THE WORLD PVP BATTLES! They're going to be HUGE, and everyone is going to be the same damn level!!!!!!!!! No twinks! Ultra fairness. It's going to be amazing man! There will be so many people. Come on! Join fresh! -

And that rush of the unknown, the fear of death, the craving for the beyond, is the true glory of Vanilla WoW. Unfortunately we won't necessarily get that with the fresh start, because we all know Vanilla too well, but the pleasure of friendship and equality will make the fresh start another notch on the great tree of Vanilla life. The idea of thousands of players along side you every moment you're playing, tides of battle in world pvp, knowing that there will be minimal level/gear differences, knowing that you could be the first to 60, GOOD GOD MAN!!!!!! I'm excited as a mofo. -

Oh I have to add in that I'd camp the castle in Redridge and wait for them to get on the boss. Then I'd kill them all, forcing them to clear the castle all over again after corpse running xD. -

I just remember hitting rank 12 and getting my 15% movement speed pvp gear on my feral druid. I remember screwing around in Duskwood, ganking, waiting for them to bring in some 60's for me to kill. Funny enough, a HWL feral druid came out. We fought on the road by the bridge in Duskwood. After literally 30 minutes of 1 v 1 and masses of low levels showing up and watching (back when poly/fear/hibernate had no duration caps), I finally beat her. I /roared, and all the low levels scattered. Needless to say I chased as many down as possible lol. I was on a roll. I went to Org later that day to pvp outside, came across another HWL feral druid, dueled him, and WON. He was so angry. that one only took maybe 5 minutes though. I also remember seeing this NE Rogue named Yuni literally EVERYWHERE I went. If I was in Duskwood, he was in Duskwood. If I was in Hillsbrad, he was in Hillsbrad. He couldn't beat me, so we'd just hang out together and kill lowbies as a team. I know it's cruel but, I'd offer free gold in chat, just to lure lowbies to me so that he could kill them xD. First char was a NE druid. The ambience of the NE starting zone on top of the spell sounds, bags, UI, all the other players, the HUGE zones, ohh man I was immediately sucked in. Sadly my PC was junk and I'd get 5-20 fps. Couldn't even enter any cities aside from the first 2 starter towns. I remember going to Ashenvale on my 27 troll shaman. I accepted a quest and a 32 dwarf rogue came out and killed me. At that moment I knew my purpose was to kill as many other players mercilessly as possible. I'd run along that road between Splintertree Post and Astranaar for hours ganking anybody in sight. On Nost, before it shut down, I had a 60 resto druid and I'd go into Redridge and make rounds. I'd kill every single player possible. I couldn't really beat any 60's 1v1, so I'd farm low level kills via moonfire spam. If a 60 came, I'd just run and run and run. I'd spend hours making rounds all over Redridge killing over a 100 people per hour. When Nost comes back up, the first thing I'm going to do is go troll Redridge. -
Random thought about Gold Sellers
Xykaru replied to Xykaru's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
For clarification purposes: I am not suggesting nor do I condone gold selling whatsoever. The idea is that the people who run the server ban all gold sellers. Then, they create and sell gold themselves. After they sell the gold to player, said players account is then permanent banned for cheating (buying gold). This would A. Remove cheaters from the game and B. Create revenue for the server. Of course it'd all be shady, but it's a win/win. It's not like anybody is going to find out, let alone make a lawsuit out of it. The server is technically illegal as is. -
I remember when Nostalrius had 2 minute roll backs on top of D/C's every 5-30 minutes for a couple weeks there. There were still over 8000 people playing consistently even with the disruptions. All I care about is starting on the fresh PvP server. I would happily play the PvP server today, even if I got disconnected every few minutes. I am sure there are at least 7999 other people that feel this same way. On a side note, PvE servers are dumb. People that play PvE instead of PvP should just go play some classic single player RPG's on 1990's game consoles. That way we can save the third server for a year after the Elysium - PvP realm comes out, so that we can have another fresh start. I can't stress enough that fresh starts on PvP realms are what really make Vanilla shine.

Haha that's great, I love the little comment of "Sadly every second, 13 people die on the PvP realm."

World chat is the best. If there's a huge 100 person army racing towards XR, I want to know about it! Plus, since we'll all be averaging the same level, it's going to be a bloody epic world battle. And trust me, there's going to be some seriously epic world battles on this server.

Playing tank/healer while leveling?
Xykaru replied to MisterRay's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Just go full DPS spec for leveling. You will easily be able to heal as shadow in dungeons up until 57-60. Just make sure you collect a set of healing gear for when you run dungeons (int/spirit/healing). There's really no reason to level as a healing spec. Once you are running Scholo etc.., you'll want to respec since you'll be running these dungeons a LOT. Example: I leveled as feral spec on my druid. I could easily swap into my healing gear and heal dungeons no problem, while feral spec. Once you get into 57-60 dungeons, though, you're going to want to respec to healing. -
I remember when Nostalrius had a guild whom camped devilsaur 24/7 in a pack and killed anybody who came near it. They owned the market and sold it for astronomical amounts.

Hi there, I'm Xykaru from Nostalrius (60 Tauren Druid, PvP). I am downloading the client and will find out in about an hour if it works or not, but the idea of playing Vanilla again has me incredibly giggidy and overwhelmed with dopamines! I read this when I went to download the client on the Elysium website "Registrations are closed until the project is released. Follow us on Twitter and join our Discord for more informations!" I've read all over youtube and the internet from up to 3 months back mostly that the server if playable, but some say that it's not released yet and likely won't be released until 2017. I've also watched some Elysium YT videos where they're playing on the server and that 700-1800 players are online. So the big question: Is Elysium live? Is the fresh server live? I am flooded with excitement (as much excitement as when I downloaded TBC with Dial-Up and watched the download way more often than I should). Thanks. I look forward to seeing you all in-game! Hopefully! -Xykaru Edit: For clarification, I couldn't find anything truly specifying whether or not the servers are available to the public. Thanks again!

I bet that's it - one of the Youtube videos I saw was a player on a level 34 hunter so it couldn't have been a stresstest. Thanks for the clarification!

Definitely going to start fresh and make a mage. I've always played damage hybrids and always felt left out since the class tiers never suited my spec, making PVE almost pointless to do in comparison to grinding for PvP gear. For once I want to play a class that deals damage and can easily collect good gear. Finding gear end-game for a Ret Pally, Enh Shaman, or Feral Druid is infinitely difficult and typically subpar.

Thanks for the reply! A high-pop PvP fresh start quality Vanilla WoW server is the best news I've heard since, well, Nostalrius!
