  1. I remember waiting for WoW's launch after the second stress test. The wait is blizz-like, the server crashes will be blizz-like, and it'll all be mad fun. Not sure what some other people were playing, but Vanilla WoW is a WAITING GAME. Besides, the old PVP and PVE servers will tank the technical issues, by the time Elysium starts I believe there will be less problems, less-massive pop than if it launched at the same time.
  2. If people act the way that they do on these forums in game, I will be very happy. Old Nost was pretty toxic. It gets worse when the WoW addiction and competitiveness take hold. No need to get into specific examples. I am hoping that this time we'll be more appreciative of what the GMs and devs are providing us and it'll turn into a comforting refuge one can escape to after work. If that doesn't happen, that's okay too, as long as we have blizz-like vanilla of Nost quality!
  3. This is a great idea, thanks for making it fun. The hype here is starting to parallel WoW's original release, at least for me.
  4. I had two 60s priests back in vanilla. Since my previous main was a hunter, as a priest it felt like I was being treated like a god. I got into UBRS easily at level 58, easily got into any group, barely had to work during raids unless I wanted to. Also it seems like priests are in shorter supply on alliance, and horde especially, on the new server. At level 40 shadow form is amazing. The only downside is that on alliance it's almost mandatory to roll dwarf. Unless you plan on not pvping much, and don't care about getting a guaranteed early raid spot as human.
  5. Here is a recent poll from Nost reddit: http://www.strawpoll.me/11733989/r It's not going to be 100% accurate but 2k votes is a lot. As the poll shows, alliance may be short on rogues, priests, maybe druids. Warlock looks neutral, but there certainly shouldn't be more locks than priests. Horde seems to have too many locks and too many mages. Horde is lacking all healing classes. I am rolling Gnome Warlock this time around, for the first time. I think a few people are thinking the same way because grinding for the 40 mount is awful. If it seems like there will be too many locks then I'll go priest. It makes the game so much better to play a high demand class compared to a very low demand class.
  6. I really hope not. One of my bad memories of retail before I left was seeing chars with names like Shádow Shadów Shádów because their favorite *very* original name was taken. I do not remember a single char name in vanilla having accent marks. Maybe I just rolled with the right crowd, but I think it was against the rules. The rules were pretty strict, even requiring that names do not break immersion, hence the famous "Roflcopter" example. IMO it would not be blizz-like. But since our friends in France created Nostalrius, it is up to them whether or not they want to sacrifice their full language for a blizz-like naming convention. They have my respect either way.
