I can't decide if I'm pleased to see the launch covered on the BBC website or not. Fan-made version of 'Classic' World of Warcraft returns On the one hand it means a new audience talking about it - potentially some more players (I'm rolling on the fresh sever, didn't even know about Nost until the shutdown). On the other hand it's probably coverage that Blizzard isn't too thrilled to be getting ... What do others think?

Sadly I think you're right Happy. Blizz all about the money - ain't no profit in Legacy at this point. Unlikely to be in the future either.

Yeah I'm trying it out on Kronos without using the AH - I figure the economy in the fresh start server is going to be so whacky for the opening couple of months that it can't be relied on. I did have a top ranked herb/alch at 60 on a rogue, but was never that inspired by it. BS seemed more important. I was thinking Tauren (I like the look in their beefy armour - my 80 warrior was Undead and always seemed a little puny, plus the interrupt and stam boost are nice bonuses) but now I'm looking at cannibalise quite fondly...

Interesting read - I'm just not convinced that Blizz see a profit potential in legacy servers. They'll look at the numbers from Nost, and the amount of staff time they'd need to sink into organisational change, launch, and then maintaining, and shrug and say it's not worth it. If that's the case then it would be nice for them to just quietly ignore the private servers that are doing this... Incidentally, a cease and desist letter isn't just fired off without senior sign-off surely?

I first rolled a warrior when TBC hit so I don't have a proper appreciation for the 1-60 grind. I also had guildies and cash from my mains to ease the pain. But this article hasn't put me off. On professions I was going BS/Miner - but mainly so I can mine for my planned Eng 29 twink Mage. But I'm rethinking that. BS I assume will slow as hell to level on the fresh server.

Inspired me to dig out my old HDD when I get home! Some good Tauren Mill PVP shots from early days I think.
