What if hybrid classes are supposed to play hybrid?
(TheReal) Krom replied to Fladrif's topic in Classes
We are both right, in a certain way. I admit never have it tested myself seriously before, but it's not rocket science on a 10 years theorycrafted game, that for exemple... A Druid. Feral = can't compete Warrior tanking, can't compete Rogue dps. Feed him gear and consumables to be viable ? Hard to find gear, stolen to more beneficial classes, waste of money. Well Rogue is soooo hard to find ! Balance = can't compete casters, decent dps but oom in the minute. Feed him gear and consumables to be viable ? Hard to find gear, stolen to more beneficial classes, waste of money. Well Mage is sooo hard to find ! Restauration = Surprise, Modafuka ! You can compete, and even get dedicated tier gear. Aye, Matey' ! Congratulations ! Your hard, to be meh hybrid evolved to a competent and easy heal raider ! -

Caus serious people care just about efficience and profit. C A P I T A L I S M :p Your dreams won't never be fulfilled in a serious guild, because the game is just designed to get faster from A to B if you swap the support for a decked dps. But serious guilds are for no-lifers anyways, just find people who enjoy more the fun than the ladder :) -
Yes and so, this is my point. Why denying the most dedicated players, who will be very few, to enjoy best gear ? Seems fair to me. Why denying PVP players to have their hardcore too ? Competition should be PVE only ? But yes, we're running out of arguments, and only Dev's choice should matter, now. Also, sorry if I sound maybe unpleasant but it's not my main language and I also legit have no friends

> 1% get R14 and advantage in PVE, majority of PVPers aim for R10 set which is worst than full-deck PVE, in either PVE or PVP > Raid-logging only, can be seen as dull as premade all day, which are both valid parts of the game > Excessive premade destroy everyone's fun, but no upgrade = no real interest to PVP at all (unless rep rewards) and no PVP competition Reality should be somewhere between our two biased opinions.

I see your point on the "support" role, but this is indeed more of a 2004 thing. Today every serious guild would see your subpar spec as a deliberate shoot in the foot. Your best chances as a special snowflake raider, are Nightfall Shaman/Paladin, Shadow damages boost priest or even Moonkin Aura Druid. Or just find people that don't care so much. Early Nostalrius I've raided as 2h Arms Warrior, locking 2 debuffs for delicious dps HUEHUEHUE :) -

If you have decent players, you can bring anything you want in 5 men instances, as long as there is heal, tank and dps ("The Holy Trinity"), but usually you don't for loot, utility (need rogue cc, mage poly, priest shackle) or efficience/smoothness reasons. But it's only fair that multiple roles fulfilling classes are worst than 1 role devoted classes, in further content. Otherwise the game would be full of Paladins, Droods and Priests only. -
Hi ! Thx for the video, it was well done and informative, but you seem to hold a grudge on NE, tough :p Prior to your video, I've decided to roll a Shadow NE Priest on new serv. I'm well aware they have worst racials, but I love the aesthetic and as a mostly PVP player, the advantage of drink > Shadowmeld, plus surprise Mind Controls let's say in Blackrock Mountain just seem overwhelming. So may I ask, while being disadvantaged towards other priests yes, will I still be totally viable ? Accepted in raids (maybe as a Healer at first), and not been seen as the local special needs kid ? Have a good day, Sir !
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I remember, yes Rank 14 have advantage in high-end raids, to the detriment of PVE-players only. But then what, less than 10% of players make it to R14, and if they PVP only are literally destroyed by full-decked PVE players for a loooong time. Check your Dragonslayers privileges.

cuz last time i checked (yesterday), it was of 1600g on AH, wich is legitimate but would litteraly #triggered the system for a level 44 mail item
-
So from now, any Edgemaster's Handguards seller = 1 free ban ! "A good news never come alone" I guess lololololololololololololololo :D
-
Why is Nostalrius banning accounts instead of IP addresses?
(TheReal) Krom replied to quest008's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Wouldn't that screw up family brothers and doges playing the game in the same house ? -
Nostalrius Dev's intention of turning us into emos is all working according to the plan. Indeed, my pic brightness even hurts the eyes, now. Feel the pain, brothers. U can't understand the real pain, until a Hunter decide to frost trap into Scholo.

Night Elf Zones can be pretty
(TheReal) Krom replied to Faith's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Any Alliance guy truly interested into immersion, should really reroll a cow just for the early levels into Mulgore right now. In fact, a big part of Vanilla sucess is the magical atmosphere and various landscapes of most regions, and that the game forces you to walk slowly by them. You only realize how truly immersive and beautiful the game was, when you found yourself wandeling in the non-released Hyjal, where this is litteraly nothing other to do than be amazed on sight. Night-elves regions and music association can be quite good, but personally, *that* moment in Westfall, when the violins fades, still get me goosebumps after more than 10 years... -
... if you are first time Vanilla player or don't know what ur doin. Otherwise your Vanilla WOW experience will have in common with Dark Souls ! Warrior may seem a rather appealing class, wich will lot of the time be over-represented in a population realm. But a lot of beginners or Warriors newbies - me included - may feel betrayed in the end with their toon and invested game-time. Better safe than sorry, I will present quickly there the big pros and cons of the Vanilla Warrior Class. WARRIOR CONS (80% of your experience, bad gear) : - Hard levelling time (only 1vs1 mobs and some may kill u, then wait the eating regen) - No survivability, all health point is lost to death - No way to grind money - High repair costs - PVP to PVE or PVE to PVP ? Respec $$ (also mean to farm 2 sets) - No real PVE Tier sets unless for Tanks, so most War raid gear will just feed your Tanks - Worst solo PVP (can kill other Warriors and roflstomp bad Rogues) - PVP need epic weapon wich need PVE raids wich need wanting to roll and compete for 2H in dual wield spec = GG - Clunky and noob unfriendly gameplay (may be subjective) - Paladin or Frost mage ? Most of the time you better AFK - ... WARRIOR PROS (20% of your experience, good gear) : - most BADASS looking gear, weapons and sets - Epic gear and pocket healer / premade = godlike. 2H Sword spec. Mortal Strike. Might feel powerful every 30 min with "I win" CD. - rewarding, difficulty feeling - excellent gear scaling - dem ccrits on noob rogues. (Rogue being always overpopulated and rather noob friendly being a plus) CONCLUSION : In the end, don't roll a Warrior if you're mostly a solo PVP player, aren't very social, are looking for an easy experience or don't have a lot of gaming time. Warrior need a real big invest of skill and playing time to shine, but persevere and in the very end of the day you'll be a force to be reckoned, in both PVP and PVE environnements. If you're still ready to going in, I let you explore topics of gamers with more knowledge on the matter. Not really being a Crybaby there... But I know for granted some people WILL a year from now see this thread and just wish they have been before ! Roast me for I spoke the Truth. You've been warned... Good luck ! /Discuss

Well, maybe it's a bit sad having to talk about it here... But children of Warcraft are also mostly children of Star Wars, and it's a big part of childhood that's gone with her. Goodbye, Princess. Another star in the sky ... -

Well indeed no-lifers will be no-lifers, and it's normal with such time investment they will be top guilds no matter what. But like you said, for 90% of the server it will still be a fair and hard struggle competition, that's nowhere to be find if you begin now on the old Nost PVP. -

IKR ? Steak is just plain superior, maybe harder to chew but back in a time where the restauration cared more about client satisfaction, than mass production for profit. You think you want steak, but you don't. Go back to KFC. -

New-starters have OBJECTIVE reasons to roll on the new server : more fairness, new economy, not being ganked nor carried, a chance to reach the top of the progressive content. For the veterans, it may be more SUBJECTIVE, but trust me there are a lot of reasons as well : - A lot of players actually prefer the levelling journey over the raid-logging grind. - Opportunity to try a new class, or change faction (Horde will regret my autism) without huge disadvantage. - A new Vanilla server release is indeed a really rare chance brought to you. And even if you had previously levelled more than 30 toons or know every instance like your pocket, nothing beat the magic of thousands cows odyssey trough Mulgore, being in the first wave of levellers, whole regions still untouched by mankind, random and brutal noobs PVP raids. - I just think it's more competitive (PVE content but! also just regarding your very little charachter progression) in a whole, as a hardcore gamer. -
Crashes should only happen at peak hours, wich mean maybe 10 or 11 people playing at the same time. Under that pop the game should be playable, but it's not recommanded to cast your spells simultanely.

Gonna love those public apologies on the virtual forum of a pirated 12 years old video game. Troll is ded. Long live the troll
