Is it too late to start on the old PvP Server?
sojs123 replied to Edwin Van Queef's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
there isn't progression experience in these early raids is the key thing you're missing man MC was designed to teach people the basics of raiding which the majority of the players already know. the server is on 1.12 talents meaning everything pre naxx / late aq is trivialized by the dps these 1.12 talents bring people can clear mc in full greens as long as the tank has a few boe blues / epics on the fresh server the most try hard guild will rush 60 farm BRD a few times go into lbrs / ubrs and spam runs for half a day while they have a differnt group of guild mates controlling devilsaurs to craft leatherworking sets then go into MC the following day and blast it down in a few hours -

definitely not too late it's very easy to join an established guild and get handed full MC / BWL loot on your first few runs outside of a few of the BIS pieces like trinkets and jewelry most stuff is being sharded item levels don't jump very much from tier - tier like they do in retail so it is easy to catch up with some effort. Ragnaros (end boss MC) drops item level 78 Nef (end boss BWL) - drops item level 83 C'thun(end boss AQ) - drops item level 88 KT (end boss naxx) - drops item level 92 -

Why fresh server should release at the same date
sojs123 replied to Jambi's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
You will be surprised how many guilds stuck together mine for example has 45 on the roster missing 2 priests from a full raid team -

the gold making opportunities on the new server are really it's only plus over the old one whoever hits high 50s first and starts dual box devilsaur / lotus farming is going to be making serious gold / hour -

maybe im just a weird individual but to me vanilla is only fun to me because I had never raided it on retail and had never been good enough at the game to enjoy pvp / industrial farming etc now I've done it I have no intention of doing MC / BWL farming again where every boss has a single mechanic, vanilla pvp feels like unbalanced twink pvp balanced around who has more engineering gadgets and cheese items, raiding is 1 button spamming and whoever has more consums / pots / gets lucky rng top the meter. Don't get me wrong, I think Vanilla is still fun but you have to look at it for what it is which is a massive time sink would I really want to invest 100+ days /played to get to same point again, probably not. It's weird because I enjoy ladder resets in games like diablo2 / poe but something about starting fresh when there is no end goal in sight bugs me. This being said I would gladly roll on a vanilla server that offered all content and reset to zero every 3-4 months so it would feel like a race type thing. im just rambling now and im not even sure if my post will make sense TLDR: I dont want to spend another 1 year farming boring brainless mechanic bosses to get to what id like to do, the stuff I haven't seen, maybe I would make a new character once AQ / naxx were on the horizon if nost was totally fresh but there's no way in hell id play a complete fresh start from the get go -

but keeping the accounts of the players.... nah.. you could have wiped them all. The only reason those sites are reporting on it is because you get the old characters back, notice how every single article includes the info that you get your characters back. I don't know why you new comers are so anti old server but it's lame to spread misinformation. from my personal experience with my guild mates I don't think more than 5 or 10 out of 60 would've rerolled here without getting their characters back. Leveling in vanilla is not fun it's a task that gets old after a few times, the same goes for farming MC and BWL. People are coming back because it's starting from where it left off. -
Do I really want to play on a PvP server?
sojs123 replied to MacinJosh's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
it's frustrating when you first enter a new zone and you're low level and there are higher level quests around stv for example if you go there in the low 30s youre going to rage real hard but if you go grind in middle of no where for a bit and do all of desolace and alterac first before hitting up stv when you're 36-37 you won't have nearly as much of a hard time in stv players tend to only go after lower level players or players of the same level.
