A mage that can solo farm Dire Maul East (DME) for example won't be as hindered by the material costs. Same goes for anyone who can duo farm DME with a miner (for the arcane crystals). Not as time consuming aswell if you have a friend or befriend someone to do these with you.

Speaking as someone who was a new player on Nostalrius (dinged 60 less than a month from closing) you are full of фекал if you think it's impossible to gear and take part in end game content.

OP is asking about being able to run dungeons, MC and ZG since he seems to believe that these are somehow obsolete on the old PvP realm. You said it would be far easier on the fresh. I countered with my own experience, joining the old PvP realm two months before shutdown and having no problem whatsoever gearing up and finding groups.

False. I started on Nostalrius at the beginning of February 2016. Playing a warrior it took me about 10 days /played to get to 60. I joined a raiding guild on lvl 10 as a social and by mid march I was accepted as a raider after getting my fury preraid BiS by tanking dungeons after reaching 60. By server shutdown I was not many pieces away from BiS, excluding the PvP items.
