    Geared prot with 30% blockchance who blocks for most of a mob's autoattack is worse than a fury tank because you can't hold dungeon mobs without enrage? pull more mobs to match the fury's rage gen/dmg taken, tank them all because you're prot, and the DPS have way more potential to clear the dungeon faster

    cleave is excellent as an opener or rage dump in dungeons, with good target selection you can apply a good amount of snap threat to 3 mobs as soon as mobs reach you with cleave + (ability), plus sometimes you can hit a mob slightly out of melee range (ie. running at the healer) by chaining a cleave onto it

    So shield slam and shield bash were changed in patch 2.0 to not proc MH effects, and this change was categorised under "bug fixes". Not techinically blizzlike in patch 1.3 but understandable. Sunder and Execute however seem odd to leave unfixed. By the way: is this behaviour confirmed to work for all effects, or just the ones mentioned here specifically? Would something like Darkmoon Card: Maelstrom be worthless when it comes out since it won't proc off anything besides revenge and heroic strike in a typical rotation?

    on the topic of shield spikes, I've noticed that dying with a shield equipped means that after you respawn, you no longer have the shield spike "buff" unless you take off and re-equip your shield

    Drain tanking is amazing when you have access to +damage gear, since it converts life into mana at above 100% efficiency with improved lifetap, then converts mana back into life+damage also with above 100% efficiency with drain life. In a way +damage is a strictly better version of spirit when you're utilizing drain life. This is the spec with the lowest killtime (ignoring destro because it's terrible for levelling) because all your DoTs tick super hard with eg. dreamweave/shadowweave gear along with Shadow Mastery (use lesser magic wand/gravestone scepter when you're too low level for Drain Life to be a better option) and you'll finish every mob with 100% hp/mana or be killing packs of 3+ mobs comfortably. As far as only going 2/5 improved corruption, I can see the logic but it's a huge pain in the попа - same as relying on drain soul to kill every mob. That's more of a personal preference though, important to remember that it's better to choose a spec/playstyle that you "enjoy" playing than it is to choose the spec that levels 4% faster and also possesses zero PVP potential
  16. "Open world" gold farming on a 12K population server.... yeah, pull the other one. You people claiming it's to put a chokehold on gold selling, don't you realise this just artificially creates a larger market for people to buy gold? This means MORE xiao armies turtling AV for herb spawns, it means MORE gold whispers as soon as you log in, it means MORE depletion of open-world herb/ore nodes and mobs, and it means an even GREATER disparity between the "new" players and the "old" players already possessing their epic mounts and their bank alts full of elemental earth. It's non-blizzlike fanfic server content, it's a complete mistake, it actively hurts all players.
  17. Is there a way to not have friendly player HP show as 100/100 unless they're in your party? Using MobHealth3 + Luna and it kinda ruins the AFK in Org experience when you can't go around looking at tank's HP pools and stuff, I don't remember having this issue on Old Nost

  19. +1 for renew being awesome. Something like R3 renew is just so ridiculously efficient that even if 50% of it ends up as overheal you're still more than getting your money's worth. Pre-hotting is simply more efficient than pre-shielding when the incoming damage is predictable enough (eg broodlord) - also doesn't deny your DPS warriors their ragegain, and renew is far more efficient than flash heal for your bog-standard raid healing. hots also 'stabilise' people - consider your assignment to be "keep the melee topped up on golemagg". Covering them with renew (highest rank your raid's killtime and personal mana pool would allow you to sit there and spam for the duration of the fight) not only lets you be useful even when none of them lack enough HP to justify hardcasting a heal on them, but it outputs both more HPS and more HPM than any other technique. If you live in a world where everyone is instantly topped up as soon as they take damage and mana efficiency is of no concern, consider cutting a healer or two

    renew after the mob dies breaks your 5 second rule. you can shield, mind blast, pain, then wand in shadowform (toss in a mind flay if you need the damage), and then just regen your mana until you need to pull the next mob

    I went to the trouble of making you a diagram: Though it's worth keeping in mind: Mind Flay has its own custom coefficient of 45.7% (all ranks) in Vanilla. https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=20831 If Mind Flay did use the regular formula (the example used is for an AoE, hence the denominator of 3) then it would simply use (3/3.5)*0.95 = 0.814, you can imagine why Blizzard decided not to give Mind Flay an 81.4% damage coefficient - it would be insanely OP. Ironically, this larger spell damage coefficient would make downranking Mind Flay even MORE effective, especially when you're kitted out with plenty of +Shadow and +Spell Damage.
