Whats with the griefing posts?
Pistolero replied to thebleach's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I completely agree. However, I do believe griefing has its place, its time, and its duration. Killing someone once or thrice, then leaving them be for at least while adds to the thrill of PvP. They won't know if/when you're coming back. Doing it 10 times or for an hour (or days!) is just being a derp - driving people away like you said Undertanker. One of my favorite things to do when I'm playing a rogue with my rogue friends, is sapping a hunter, we both kill his pet but not him, and vanish. It's a moment a young hunter will never forget...lol -
Or WTB pockets. All this clothing and armor, and no pockets? Just bags and a backpack?

Xykarus Screenshots from Vanilla
Pistolero replied to Xykaru's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
OHMYGAWD dat FPS!!! I remember those days! Ahh 4:3 square screenshots are very nostalgic. Thanks for sharing! <<-- just imagine that's vanilla, not strawberry -
While the bag bug was annoying, there was some kind of easy workaround that did the trick 100% of the time - I'm a little hazy on my memory of it but it was something like make sure you put the bag you want to equip in your main backpack, and then drag and drop it in place. Something like that. I remember after discovering the fix that it never failed me again.

Not my first death, but the first death I ever saw, back in February of 2005 was in Shadowglen. I was like level 4 I think, with the quest to go up and talk to the druid trainer. My friend and I were near the bottom of the ramp. He's telling me that when I go up, to watch out for a couple places on the walkway where you could fall through and maybe die. I tell him: "Thanks, I'll be careful." As soon as I hit enter on my chat, some night elf dude comes falling out of the tree right between us and craters with the good old night elf death cries. Freaked the hell out of me.

I'd love for you to be right. I guess we'll be able to test it on Saturday! (fingers crossed) I did try it on Kronos II just now and it didn't do anything for me. Maybe you were doing it before but the console command was different?
-
I don't think that console command is in vanilla. From what I have found it only exists in v2.1 and up...

Getting ready for launch - brushing up on acronyms
Pistolero posted a topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
With launch right around the corner, it's time to get back up to speed with all the dungeon acronyms, Internet buzzwords, and the like. This should help: ROFLMAO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEWgs6YQR9A&index=16&list=PLIScMsLacsSSJG2TtlVc7c9H9alGKY51T&ab_channel=OxhornMovies -

is the forum account the same as the website account? HELP
Pistolero replied to morksoldat's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
To create a game account and start the transfers, click on the PLAY NOW button in the left bar on the home page. You should be able to choose your username, password, and email address used for transferring your characters and actually logging into the WoW game with. The forum account and game account are not the same. Hope that helps. Here's a link for ya: https://elysium-project.org/play -
Yeah, 150k active accounts but there were around 800k total accounts. I think the concern here is even though the old server had 150k, there wasn't all this hype to jump on starting at a specific time on a specific day. The amount of players trying to get online with the first 24 hours is gonna hurt..a lot...but it's gonna hurt real good...

Hah! Nice. That's some quality vintage vanilla WoW memories there, eh? -
Thanks. Glad it made someone smile! Good god there are so many memories in my life revolving around WoW - and I'm not talking just about actually playing the game, either. One time, we were in a video game/media store, and the manager was wearing an Alliance t-shirt. We were Horde at the time. We gave him a hard time and the fun conversation that ensued actually ended up with him giving us a 50% off everything we bought that day. Good times.

For over almost ~11 years I had four retail accounts, for myself, my wife, and two kids. I have thousands of Vanilla through WoD screenshots. I canceled all four accounts the day that Nostalrius was announcing its closure, after giving Blizzard more than $9,000 over 11 years for subs, transfers, name changes, merchandise, expansions, etc. I put that in here to illustrate how ingrained WoW has been in our lives. So much so, that I even used WoW to propose to my wife, on her birthday! I took her to Camp Mojache in Feralas, overlooking the waterfalls. In the game, I had a ring and two letters I gave her. When she read the letters, giggled and sighed, and then she turned around in her chair and I was behind her on my knee with a real letter and engagement ring. Romantic setting: First letter: Second letter: Fishing at Stonebull Lake, with a coyote for company: Taking a turn: Shammy shenanigans: So purdy: Bring back the Wickerman! Lots of people I know had the giant name bug that would happen occasionally: As Alliance we made the death run through Orgrimmar so we could run RFC:

Agreed. At least the Blizzard of old, that stuck to their core values and meant it.

And a resounding THANK YOU from me as well! Got my fingers crossed for a smooth launch, but regardless - I'm happy you guys have championed the cause.

You must use the same IP to generate and consume the token
Pistolero replied to Lorilay's topic in Help & Support
Yep, same for me. I've tried Chrome, Chrome Incognito, Internet Explorer (all addons and extensions turned off), Internet Explorer Private Browsing, and my tablet. I hope Lorilay above is correct and it's just a temporary issue from Nostalrius. Will update if anything changes. EDIT: WORKED! It's probably just a matter of coincidence or server load issues or something, but I closed all browser sessions and tried again in Chrome Incognito and it went through perfectly. All characters showed up just fine.
