    Big Game Hunter

There are currently A LOT of quests and chains that should be available to low levels and are not. I dont know if this is an example of an oversight but someone else has already done the footwork for me and found examples of this and also citations to prove that quests should be available. To quote: "Some quest level requirements are too high" "Particularly common with quest chains which should usually be completable with the requirement of the first quest. Some affected quests are: "Raene's Cleansing" quest chain (should be completable at 18) "In Search of Thaelrid" (should be completable at 18) "Dangerous!" (should be completable at 19) "Battle of Hillsbrad" quest chain (should be completable at 19)" https://elysium-project.org/bugtracker/issue/967 On retail it was common knowledge among level 19s that these items were available because the entire chain level requirement was only as low as the initial quest that started it. This was during vanilla, and a lot of alliance had the furbolg transformation at 19 to show for it. In that link the player was able to find the game guide for retail from 2006 i believe and shows that these quests SHOULD be available, but are gated behind level requirements that are more in line with the actual required level to complete the quest (like if you are level 19 and the quest says go kill a bunch of level 30s, even though you could have done it on retail as a "red" quest, they are unavailable on elysium) This has made the BiS list for 19 twinks much less strong and ultimately caused the 10-19 bracket to not reflect how it really was in retail, because people sub out worse gear and cant play to their max potential.

    Is this reportable?

According to the ToU safespotting is defined as: "...the act of engaging in PvP combat while exploiting a position that cannot be reached with basic jumping (no wall-climbing), or engaging enemy players while being in an advantageous position where guards cannot reach you due to pathing, line of sight, or any other game mechanic." So technically if you just stood far enough away from Gadgetzan to not be in aggro range of the guards, like behind the flight master, but still attacked him with ranged moves, it would NOT constitute as safe spotting because you did not take advantage of pathing, LoS, or an abused mechanic. You are literally standing out of aggro range of a mob to attack someone, which doesn't meet the definition they put forth.
  4. At level 19 actions like this are commonplace and reporting people does not lead to a ban. Anyone can jump to this specific spot and not even with specific types of jump, just jumping into the wall, however if you have a small character model, like a female human female dwarf or female gnome you cant jump as high on the pole, which gimps small model melee characters. I'll get into the definition of safespotting from elysium in a minute but consider the following: Alliance teams with female dwarves/gnomes and female humans will consistently run straight through the fence on the alliance side as if it doesnt exist, and only small models can follow them, which gimps every single melee horde model except female undead, because they are literally the only horde model small enough to run through and stay in melee range for long enough to land a kill. Despite being a race exclusive terrain based exploit, they never consider this abuse to be safespotting even though it is 100% IMPOSSIBLE for all but one model to follow. You could argue that the alliance exploit allows melee to wait on the other side of the fence, but that requires that every horde team stack people on both sides (because you can run through the fence both ways with a small model) just to have a similar chance of killing the efc that the alliance have because there is no fence for the horde to exploit that only a few horde models can run through and the alliance cant. This faction specific, race based terrain exploit does not EVER, i repeat EVER lead to a ban. I've opened a multitude of tickets to report people and the general rule seems to be as long as you don't "safe spot", or go out of bounds, anything goes. Basically, in my experience with constantly reporting people, all terrain exploits and jumps are allowed unless you safespot or go "out of bounds". I've done some digging and I got there exact definition of safespotting from their ToU: "c ). Safespotting Safespotting is prohibited under all circumstances. This is the act of engaging in PvP combat while exploiting a position that cannot be reached with basic jumping (no wall-climbing), or engaging enemy players while being in an advantageous position where guards cannot reach you due to pathing, line of sight, or any other game mechanic." So by their definition it's not even safespotting until he tries engage people from that location and you cant kill him back, which is more the case with invisible walls etc. They say basic jumps are okay and honestly you only need basic, non specific, jumps to get up this pole. There are racial limitations on it however, like the common alliance terrain exploit, but just like the various exploits on alliance side, don't actually constitute safespotting To further press this issue, they state in the ToU: "Certain behaviour goes beyond what is considered fair and are considered a violation of this agreement. This behaviour includes, but is not limited to, the following: Using or exploiting errors in design, features, and/or bugs to gain access that is otherwise not available, to facilitate and/or grant you an advantage over other players." Now this part of the ToU is basically ignored in this context, it's the part of the ToU I always try to cite when reporting people but it never seems to work. Faction specific and model size specific terrain exploits definitely constitute as a player using: "errors in design" (like the "hole" in the alliance fence only small models can run through, or jumping up the pole on horde side where small models cant follow) to "gain access" (to another area of the map) which "grants them an advantage" (using thes exploits gimps melee players first and foremost because if they are the wrong race, they cant follow and stay in range to do damage, thus granting a distinct advantage to the small model that abused the "error in design") Even though it is clearly stated and discussed in the ToU nobody I've reported for these infractions has ever been banned. So back to my main point. In my extensive ticketing experience, If they aren't safespotting or out of bounds they are likely not going to have action taken against them. Have a good one. PS: A lot of players will go "GM fishing". They whisper GMs to try and get them to "clarify" what constitutes ban-worthy terrain exploiting. These people will describe the scenario out of context in a specific way to a GM to make the action sound okay and as if it isn't exploiting. They will get the GM to say "that's allowed" or "you cant get banned for that". Once the GM states this they take a screen shot and have plausible deniability to say they "didn't know" it was against the rules and if they are ever going to be banned, they just pull out the GM conversation where they said it was okay and they get unbanned.
  5. Just wow. I didn't hear this coming off as bitching at all honestly. He said the que times are horrendous. That is a fact, people are waiting 4+ hours for que and even if that is "blizzlike" that doesnt make a 4 hour connection wait any less horrendous. He asked if elysium is that much different than nost. Basic question from someone who is new here. He asked basically if the the fresh server justifies the long waiting, or if he can get the exact same experience without having to wait in que. He seems to acknowledge that it could be worth it to wait but wants to make sure he isn't wasting his time. How you took that as bitching is honestly beyond me. He asked a simple question and even gave his reasoning. You then nonsensically go on to say that he could really be "complaining" (which he wasn't even doing to begin with) about more important issues such as quests not deleting properly, the landmines in Gnomer, Dynamic respawn issues etc. However you seem to have forgotten that the person asking this question literally hasn't even chosen a server and likely hasn't even connected yet. How could he even be aware of these issues if he cant even connect to the server and hasn't been playing? Your response took a totally normal question from a new player and only after telling him he was wrong, and in an extremely toxic fashion, gave him a sarcastic response that is obviously not even attempting to seriously address his question. And while I disagree with how you answered his question you could have just posted the last sentence, without all those insults and problems you personally found more important than his question, and just answered him while still maintaining the toxic personality you so obviously adore. I hear terrible things about the vanilla community and it's posts that have attitudes like this that make me understand where those negative interactions are coming from.

    Still stuck on Authenticating

Oh no the "Connecting" boss is back, we didn't get Authenticating down in time so was able to rez him.

    Still stuck on Authenticating

Authenticating is easily the hardest boss on this server, you have to fight him no matter what level you are and he never gets an easier...

i upvoted, hopefully a few of us will do the same and bump it up further, only a few upvotes to make the front page of that bug forum and this is a relatively simple fix

    Yahoo Verification Email Issue

This response should set many peoples minds at ease. Hopefully us Yahoo users will be ready to go in no time!

    Not receiving Verification Email

This is the situation I am currently in and I am worried that they may ultimately just come back and say to use a different, working e-mail. People in our scenario could be potentially facing lost characters because we were able to put the token in before the verification e-mail came (consuming the token) without issue, but now we no longer have access to the control panel. Let's hope they issue a fix

    Foreign Mail-Providers and E-Mail-Verification

I tried white listing both .org and .com addresses to yahoo mail and was still unable to receive a verification e-mail ><

    Not receiving Verification Email

I also cannot seem to get a verification e-mail to go through and I am using Yahoo email, however, when I first clicked control panel in my account options it let me enter my nostalrius token. I now fear I may never be able to activate this account with my designated email and I have already consumed my token on this account and it will not let me consume it on another account with an email that is working for verification. This is extremely scary for me at the moment as I fear my characters may be permanently lost if i cannot verify this account with the Yahoo email
