Interesting question. If you want to replicate Blizzard then you should let it progress naturally. If you want to act like a nanny-state then manipulate it any which way you can. I'd hope the answer is obvious.

I'd say the issue with downvoting relative to this topic is that whenever Duki and Theloras post, people will see the negative rating and consider that their opinions are to treated with caution. By and large their (quite literally) holier than thou patronising attitude is responsible for their negative reputation. Having said all that, I agree with both of them. Opinions should be based on merit. People should do their own research and not take what they see as carte blanche. Leaving the facility of only + reputation is still a viable alternative as to how a poster is seen in a community. Last point. It is true that Duki and Theloras were right about holy resistance all along. However, they never actually proved it. The person who proved it beyond all was Cornholi. I never see him getting the credit he deserves.

Why not release the war effort when you're 90% there in terms of scripting? Why release it early and put ludicrous targets that are unachievable? The key element here is the removal of the auto complete. That says all you need to know.

kek. The key here is a refusal to auto-complete. In retail, auto-complete guaranteed a war effort of less that 2 months. 3.33% per day less whatever mats were handed in. This gave players a month to farm and manipulate the AH, turn in their hand-ins and feel they are part of a community working together. Further, when the auto-complete started until finish they could still manipulate based on the closing figures. This isn't retail, so changes are necessary and commendable because people have the benefit of hindsight. People see this as an opportunity to make money, while the elite few think about how they maximimise their chances for the mount. The problem as I see it is that by setting the bar deliberately high the staff have removed the community element of working to an achieved goal as the goal is impossible. They have also allowed themselves carte blanche to manipulate the war effort themselves, not the players. This, at a time when pretty much everyone knows by reddit, discord, the forums here and just in general guild and player chat, that the staff and project are at best, a slight grubby and dirty version of what they thought it was going to be. The AQ war effort and event is the single biggest event in Warcraft regardless of expansion. An opportunity is here to manage it correctly and take the soiled clothes out for a wash. Agreeing to an auto-complete, even at the 45 days mark is a commitment to stop manipulating the project. Anything less can only be seen as serious question marks on the devs to provide the players with an average AQ40 challenge. The only other reason is if they're waiting for TRB core to be released open source.

Ah I see. So for Bay of Storms you need 425 to avoid ''getaways''. The failed loot box dialogue refers to articles that they removed from the database. So Mithril bound trunks can be caught from open water, but not in the database, so when you catch one the DB says ''nothing here'' and you get the empty dialogue loot box.

No. It's much worse than that. You can't fish Oily Blackmouths open sea, even in Darkshore where it was a 25% drop rate. You can fish them (hilariously) at the freshwater lake outside of Tarren Mill including Stranglekelp and Firefin Snappers.

Yeah that's true, the trust was gone once they got into bed with Elysium. Thankfully common sense prevailed. Although it took a lot of drama before they backed out. In the meantime, best of luck on Elysium, you'll need it.
