It's nothing to do with bots. Most people using Fishing Buddy which enhances the sound of the bobber. Your typical fisherman/girl will put on a good movie/read a good book and crank up the fishing sounds. Every < 30 seconds you'll need to go and click on your keypad but by and large you can spend a few hours fishing while mostly doing something else. It has always been that way. At the moment, you have to keep your eye on the bobber all the time. So it's bugged and not working as intended. Actually, fishing is appalling at the moment. Wreckage pools are not giving up any trunks, something I think is deliberate along with the banning of smoked sagefish which is ridiculous. In Feralas mithril trunks come up as blank when fished from open sea, you just get the loot icon and a blank area. In Bay of Storms there are no elemental pools and before the fishing got bugged completely for me I managed to catch 4 fish, one of which was a Summer Bass on the 29th December. You can catch Winter Squid in Feralas/Tanaris as you should but I can't fish anymore. My current bug means that while the bobber now moves and makes the correct sound, clicking on the cogwheel does not activate the loot icon. So no fish. A lot of us depend on fishing to earn a living on Azeroth as we don't have leet skills, not being able to fish and therefore cook up Nightfin Soup etc removes a central plank for playing the game. Before anyone comments about stuff being released in patches, I can still see Stonescale Eel swarms in Tanaris and Bay of Storms, and they came out in 1.11.

OK - Not getting much traction on this theory (sad face) so it looks like there are two hacks currently taking place. A very aggressive one where accounts get hijacked, looted, trashed and and either left in bits or used to sell gold (they then get banned for gold selling), and then this less intrusive one, where accounts are 'hacked' and just the gold taken or similar. So it seems. For people wanting to change their passwords, go to the Elysium Project Front Page Then click on your Control Panel Select 'Forgot Your Password' You will then be sent an email allowing you to change the password (I still find the whole thing suspicious but what the hell)

Can you confirm if all your money was missing or just the gold? Because if you still have your silver and copper left over as I do then I doubt it was hacked. @renew No need to be so smug. On any server, gold illegally taken is always restored as being 'blizzlike' Elysium should investigate and restore what was stolen...............if it was stolen

So fishing bugs: For a lot of us, there is no sound when the bobber moves when you catch a fish For floating wreckage, only Stranglekelp, potions and rumsey get fished, there are no trunks The Sunscale salmon/Nightfin snapper don't reverse for day/night schedules Essentially this makes it pretty commercially nonviable to fish at present

So just to confirm..... I logged in this morning and all the gold I had was gone (about 170). Thing is, only the gold disappeared, the silver was still there. Now if the account was hacked, why would the hacker not take the 3-4 gold worth of silver too? That makes no sense whatsoever. In addition, I had an arcanite bar which sold in the AH so if the account was hacked, they were prepared to go to the mailbox and check to see if there were any AH sales, but not prepared to go to the nearest vendor and sell all the equipment? So for me, i think this is server side.

Next, as good as Crestfall appears to be, closed Beta only launched yesterday, so there is no evidence as of yet to confirm that the server will be better scripted than any MaNGOS realm out there. I'd suggest leaving the CF whataboutery topics until open Beta at least. CF does not intend to directly compete against Elysium, it's not offering the same product as the core element was always designed for PTE, in fact, part of that process (scripting for TBC) is already being worked on. There will always be a core element of toxic players and they tend to migrate to larger populations or fresh servers, but they don't last as there is always the next big thing. Give Elysium a chance to settle down and work on bug fixes, gold farming, toxicity and spamming. I am grateful for the opportunity to test and play here, although second time around I'm finding myself more picky.

Not a chance. Nost PvE was 4.5k before it got shut down, even allowing for a reasonable number of players who ditched the PvP version for a workable realm it should still be 4k mimiumum as people have invested time there. Fresh server is wayyyyyyy overrated, maybe 10k. On the old PvP, where the economy is, you can expect that to remain 6-8k.

The key for easy completion has always been water breathing.

Crestfall won't be launched until Q1/Q2 2017. There is no reason for them to DDoS Elysium for 3-6 months just to ensure they get decent population numbers. There are more than enough players out there to fulfil both servers. Kronos was under attack for a couple of months by a particularly nasty batch of DDoS attacks, are we to blame Elysium, Nostalrius or Crestfall for that too?

People are not taking into account that the Pserver game has changed in the last 12 months and the circumstances here are different: We're dealing with far larger numbers than before thanks to all the publicity, intended and unintended. We have a DB of players rather than a genuine fresh start. You can see this with the item issues when the PvP realm tried to incorporate the Elysium and Nostalrius toons DDoS is a far larger factor now Players have a smaller attention span these days and expect perfection from the very start Launching two realms at once stretches staff resources I think the players should just suck it up a little and allow the unpaid, volunteer and pressurised staff some slack. Better to have these issues now, and not during the holiday season

DDoS is used as a commercial knife to threaten the jugular of the service you are providing. So typically you would launch your DDoS and follow it up with a polite ransom demand to pay 'x' or else the attacks will continue. Some companies pay, most don't and just re-calibrate their defence mechanisms. It won't be coming from another Pserver, nor Blizzard, nor anyone else with a vested interest in Warcraft. The only other feasibility is that it might come from companies with an investment in gold farming, but as VPN's are permitted it's not that either. It's actually not in their interest to have these DDoS attacks. End result is that Elysium will upgrade their defence mechanisms over time. It's a tough learning curve and people should give them some slack.

It will be slow, very slow. The advantage is that you are very hard to kill. You didn't specify if you were on the old PvP or PvE realms and that would make a difference. Ultimately what you do should not be influenced by other players but by what you want to do yourself. If you are in no rush, want to level up professions at the same time, want to respond to 'looking for healer' requests for instances then go right ahead. But it will be slow.

Greets. So the only thing I had an issue with was the Capatcha part. In Google the page loaded to about 90% so I couldn't see the register button. So it took me about an hour the figure this out (duh). Solution was just to scale the page size to 75% and everything worked fine. Like most people, surprised by the # of toons.
