Is there any way that PayPal money can go to an Elysium account that can be used to pay for these things as needed? I can afford to pay $50, but not $340 USD. This would avoid one part of the enterprise being paid up for 6 months and other parts in danger of running out of money every month. Someone mentioned sending an in-game notice. That seems reasonable. I doubt most of the players use this forum or follow the Elysium Twitter account.

Our official response to Nostalrius — Elysium will prevail!

It's 10,000 to 1 odds that Blizz will give us a true legacy server. Here is a blue post from April of 2016: We wanted to let you know that we’ve been closely following the Nostalrius discussion and we appreciate your constructive thoughts and suggestions. [But not enough to let them stay on the Blizzard forums. They get ripped down almost immediately.] Our silence on this subject definitely doesn’t reflect our level of engagement and passion around this topic. We hear you. Many of us across Blizzard and the WoW Dev team have been passionate players ever since classic WoW. In fact, I personally work at Blizzard because of my love for classic WoW. [A lie. If he loved vanilla Wow he'd want legacy servers.] We have been discussing classic servers for years – it’s a topic every BlizzCon – and especially over the past few weeks. From active internal team discussions to after-hours meetings with leadership, this subject has been highly debated. Some of our current thoughts: Why not just let Nostalrius continue the way it was? The honest answer is, failure to protect against intellectual property infringement would damage Blizzard’s rights. This applies to anything that uses WoW’s IP, including unofficial servers. And while we’ve looked into the possibility – there is not a clear legal path to protect Blizzard’s IP and grant an operating license to a pirate server. [A deception. Notice the weasel words "not a clear legal path", rather than "there is absolutely no way to protect Blizzard's IP . . . Also, Blizz wouldn't need to grant a license. A simple waiver by Elysium or other development team to any and all IP rights would take care of that concern. The private servers are operating without a license already; they don't care about a license.] We explored options for developing classic servers and none could be executed without great difficulty. If we could push a button and all of this would be created, we would. However, there are tremendous operational challenges to integrating classic servers, not to mention the ongoing support of multiple live versions for every aspect of WoW. [A bald faced lie and another deception. He might as well have said "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain". All they needed to do was expand the capacity of the Nostalrius. Then the deception, by framing this as an operational challenge to integrating classic servers. However, there is no need to integrate it into the rest of the Wow system at all.] So what can we do to capture that nostalgia of when WoW first launched? Over the years we have talked about a “pristine realm”. In essence that would turn off all leveling acceleration including character transfers, heirloom gear, character boosts, Recruit-A-Friend bonuses, WoW Token, and access to cross realm zones, as well as group finder. We aren’t sure whether this version of a clean slate is something that would appeal to the community and it’s still an open topic of discussion. [If all of those things can be done, then there's no reason why ALL of the nonsense can't be turned off. And what the hell is a "version" of a clean slate? Either it's clean or it isn't. I don't want to see a loot crate bouncing around like there's a hyperactive pixie inside. I don't want to hearth into a major city and wade into a ocean of pets and mounts. I don't want the tank to be able to run into a room and hold aggro on 6 mobs while dps blasts away as fast as they can because he can't lose the aggro, and because they can't run out of mana. I don't want every damn person in the group to have a brez. That's at least part of why we're playing vanilla.] One other note – we’ve recently been in contact with some of the folks who operated Nostalrius. They obviously care deeply about the game, and we look forward to more conversations with them in the coming weeks. [And them subsequently forgetting about them.] You, the Blizzard community, are the most dedicated, passionate players out there. We thank you for your constructive thoughts and suggestions. We are listening. [And laughing, and flipping us off.] J. Allen Brack -

Why does anybody hope for Blizzard to launch legacy servers? They have already said they won't be pure vanilla. They said if anything, it'll be "pristine" vanilla. Their definition of pristine is much different than what an ordinary, sane person's definition is. Take a quick look on Google for what I'm talking about. If Blizzard steps in, and you're new to the game, you will never know what vanilla Wow was like. -
Same. Multiple attempts on 2 accounts.
