I do understand your point , but right now they have taken an heavy blow to their credibility. Now everyone knows that buying gold from them means EVEN MORE that you will probably get banned. I would like , as much as you, if those guys go bankrupt , but I have meet ( not many ) but 3 chinese players playing in this server , even if the rest of them are stupid gold sellers , those 3 deserve to play vanilla as much as I do. And I do believe there would be a lot of ppl wrongfully denied access to the server, and it wouldn't be hard to bypass the ban. I think everyone hates them , most of their gold wasn't even farmed , it was STOLEN from accounts !! :( But I don't want to conflate gold sellers with chinese.

I though you knew were that expression ( useful idiots ) came from , though you weren't just copypasting it arround :P So the "lets ban all US since they are the main gold sellers " is also a good way to prevent gold selling for you I guess :) You can try to reason with it as much as you want, but you have many chinese players logging in just to play. So now I state " Lets ban all US since they are gold buyers " are you against this ? if you are , you are a "useful idiot" Are you against banning ALL US , since they are the main gold buyers ? If you do believe the statement " ban ALL china cause they sell gold" then the statement "ban all US cause they are the main gold buyers" also should make sense, they don't for me ... As I'v stated , most of those sites do not "FARM" , they buy gold from farmers. Stop conflating this with "pc culture" ;P It has nothing to do with it.

Many of the "chinese" gold sites buy/sell gold and don't actually farm it themselves . Also Many of these "chinese" gold sellers aren't chinese at all :D Want to stop gold sellers ? Stop gold buying ! The "lets ban all the chinese" has as much logic as a "Lets ban all US " Since US players are one of the most active gold buyers !!! Both of these are non-logical statements. With that said , does anyone have proof of DDoS to any server made by "gold sellers" ? And I don't mean a twitter statement, you know ... ACTUAL proof ? So you want to ban a whole country just because ( even though it's painfully obvious it wont help or change anything ) and then you go "they DDoS" ... DDoS is truly the new " Dog ate my homework". But even ignoring the "DDoS ate my homework" , the "lets ban china" just shows a lot of ignorance and scaremongering.

From what I remember , after all the apt-gets to get/update wine + winecfg , you need to set wow to opengl ( since it used to give lowfps/erros in directX ) At this point I wonder if you can just install wine and just wine wow.exe and it will run perfectly. So just unrar/unzip the installation to a folder , apt-get wine and try to make wine run wow.exe , check the performance / errors and try to "fix" them , if it's running perfect for you from the start you can just skip most of this stuff. If you're experiencing low performance or graphic bugs like here try to add this to the config.wtf: For obvious reasons OpenGL runs much better than DirectX. SET gxAPI "OpenGL" IF you're missing some character models, backgrounds etc try to add this to the config ( If everything is fine just skip this line ) : SET M2UseShaders "0" Some ppl report needing to add this to the config.wtf to make the sound work ( I remember personally I had no issue with this ) SET SoundOutputSystem "1" SET SoundBufferSize "70" Some state soundbuffer should go to 100 , others state smaller numbers , if sound if working just leave it be :) The archlinux wiki actually has a lot of troubleshooting and info about certain perf fixes/bug fixes, so be sure to check it out : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/World_of_Warcraft

Was just going post about those kind of programs , but I see that you spotted the WTFast "amazing graph" ;) Not that they are all BS , cause VPNs can improve your latency , but some have very "inventive" ways to show the % increase ( and try to pretend it's more than it actually is ). If you can improve your routing , a VPN will improve the connection , but if your ISP already has the best routing , little can be improved :/ Honestly I mainly used those services to play Region-locked games ( Hi KR/JP/CH and some RU games ) and they have either maintained my latency or increased it by a little. So I never used them to "lower" my ping :/ I hope someone that is currently using them can find a method of making other options work , since you know what your doing ( you spotted the WTFASTlolgraph ) I'm sure you will detect any improvements. Maybe other Aussies can share their latency and solutions for it. Good luck.

I found a post in the nostalrius forum by alucard001 with the Chinese 1.12 [ Link here ] Have fun. Since the user there chose to post a link to a txt I wont post the download directly , but it's a 3.7Gb installation file hosted in MEGA so it should be fast.
