Something capable of healing would surely be a good idea for a team? Druid might be nice for flag carrying and heals? Priest is pretty good also

I have noticed some odd things recently at one point I dropped grounding and then every second spell hit it. And they were fire balls from the mobs outside SM, so not damage free.

Ghost wolf isn't a form, it is a magical effect. So yes it can be dispelled.

In that situation I would stop healing, wipe the group, then point out what needs to change.

You can level 1-30 naked, you don't need it that bad.

The Barrens is pretty bad but once you get past it's pretty easy to level up, I got a lot of copper and tin when I got to Stonetalon and 1k Needles. Once you get to Iron it is literally everywhere.

If I open the character screen, I can see the attack power stat increase by the proper amount when WF procs.

I take mining and skinning for the gold and then level a crafting profession at 60.

I agree, I take the higher ranks of all the shock spells for this purpose.

That makes sense, I might try it out. When I played Shammy in vanilla I was a proper noob and ended up with some crappy tri-spec! I hit 60 before I actually read some guides on specs and such.
