What would make YOU return to Elysium?
kastle replied to lefthook's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
idk how you guys enjoy grinding to 60 in overpopulated zones just to farm MC over and over and over -
What is the best level range to play at and why?
kastle replied to George Colby's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
60-70 was my favorite. For the first time questing was a lot more streamlined, you weren't bouncing from continent to continent for a turn in or running our of quests as often. Forcing everyone into a handful of zones in the outlands made for some fun world pvp. And finally having multiple specs be viable for every class made the leveling process a little less daunting when I could respec and change up my play style. I leveled 1 of every class to 70 during TBC lol -
PvP is fucked on both servers. If you have limited game time and just want to take your time and hop in some PUG raids, and do a little PvP, roll Alliance on Anathema. Leveling zones will be more open so you won't be camping quest mobs for 30mins per quest. There's also more content, which means more PUGs, and because of the progression, better PUGs. People cry about being carried (as if MC/BWL/ZG/AQ20 are difficult lol) until the 1 PUG running that took 45mins to form wipes on Lucifron and half the raid leaves. Unless you're playing hardcore, you're going to be outgeared, no matter what server you play on. Might as well at least give yourself the option to do more content from the jump

This sums it up perfectly. There are an insane number of people buying consumables every day for raiding and you're all clearly showing you're willing to pay ridiculous prices, so they will continue to be listed at those prices. The only thing that could come close to a solution is stop buying consumables until everyone undercuts each other into the ground. This won't happen though, so don't expect the prices to drop much

your contradictions and lack of reading ability make you and your complaints look foolish, leave or don't no one here really cares?
-
there is literally a response from cogfather on the previous page, and you just threatened to leave if your concerns weren't met while in the same paragraph saying you're loyal. lol
-
then in 2 months the pop will decline and everyone will be complaining again, not that they won't find something to complain about either way lol

should've just waited, zk was always just an overflow server you could see that from the day it opened

Re-spec costs (question - not change request)
kastle replied to SaintPaul's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
The original game play and atmosphere were just different. I remember being bored and just grinding humanoids for fun, gold, cloth, and a chance at an epic (I know, don't laugh), all of which added up. Without any knowledge of a dual spec, or lowered costs like we have now, the 50g cost was just another expense you had to farm for if you wanted to respec. We're spoiled now -
So, let's talk about the population diminishing
kastle replied to AzAMOuS's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
they also stated multiple times they wanted the war effort to take 3-4 weeks, which it hasn't. having it end 4 days after it started wouldn't be an 'epic' event either. -
you own nothing, not even your own account. Trying to sue because a company released expansions that you don't like is actually hilarious. Americans will really try and sue for literally ANYTHING

kastle replied to AzAMOuS's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Not sure why people believe this to be true, especially in such a niche private server scene with a rather ridiculous community. The numbers the servers put up at the beginning were never sustainable and never will be, which is why there always seems to be a new server opening up giving people the chance to restart. There isn't any new content we all haven't done before, if any server even last long enough to release anything past BWL. The numbers on Elysium/Anathema are still huge, it's like people forgot that not too long ago the most populated vanilla server we could play on would be lucky to break 1k total people. Now we're panicking at 2-7k people on? c'mon now -

they already stated its not a scripting thing, you can check yourself. they wanted the event to take a minimum of 3-4 weeks, which likely wouldnt have happened with the original blizzard numbers. im sure in a few weeks we'll hear something about their plans to tackle the problem when we're still nowhere near the amounts needed -
is no one reading between the lines here? they put the numbers in place based off whatever data they'd collected, and to purposely safeguard the event from being sped through. they want it to take 3-4 weeks, so wait 3-4 weeks for them to come back and let us know they're making changes because the content is still unreachable at the current pace. if in a month we're still moving at a snails pace with no clear end in sight, and they still refuse to intervene THEN start complaining. until then just turn some shit in or log off

favorite area quest storylines?
kastle replied to theodora's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
i think they did legion really well with the zones story lines and class quests. the lack of streamlined questing was a bummer in vanilla, although i never really felt that way until the questing got better as the expansions went on. at the time i was just glad i could solo to 60 on my own time -
favorite area quest storylines?
kastle replied to theodora's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
always liked darkshore/ashenvale, more so because i love the zones and the music but the questing isn't bad there either -
can we just lock these threads on sight? the same 3 threads pop up by the same 4 people every few days
-
I assume that you will disable the human racial for Brood of Nozdormu during the mount/title race.
kastle replied to Muhsogyny's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
then why make this thread if you don't care? -
quoting this because there needs to be more positivity going around here, biggups elysium team

the whole 'ive run this x amount of times so i just want my item' argument always makes me laugh. THATS THE POINT OF THE GAME, run shit a bunch of times until you get what you want. farm for hours until you have enough gold/mats for what you want. otherwise every item would drop off every boss or you could handpick your rewards after x amount of tries (hi badge of justice). someone pointed out that the mysticism of doing all these dungeons for the first time is gone, so now people just want get as quick as possible so they can clear content, which i understand but would still say, you're playing during the wrong patch.

hi, welcome to mmorpg's

the irony with this is as a healer or tank you have the ability to do more runs, and you are one of the main ones responsible for the speed and efficiency of the runs you're doing. as a rogue, since im easily replaced, it takes twice as long to find a group or make your own so i'd understand their desire to reserve something more. side note: i find that 'im leading the group so ill reserve some items' argument that people use hilarious too. it takes a full group to run an instance, and being the one shouting in chat rather than being afk while the group fills doesn't take any effort, and you aren't actually 'leading' an instance because we all know every pull like the back of our hands now. all this is to say i realize nothing will change, the instant gratification that plagues mmo's now is the reason the genre is dying imo which is a real shame. grinding instances was never THAT fun, but it was an integral part of the experience. now you rush to 60 in a week, grind preraid bis by reserving items over the weekend and are bored for 7 months between content releases
-
reserving things seems like a new phenomenon that i dont ever really remember existing in mmo's before the private server era, and now its everywhere. not really sure where it came from or why people feel the need to do it, i just run the instance again or make a group that doesn't have people all needing the same thing. the times are different now i guess, everyones in a rush to be preraid bis so they can raid log and do laps around IF
