Seems like people are getting their accounts compromised at an completely insane rate atm. A couple of days ago there was word out that you had your database compromised/leaked as well. It even seems that people with the 2F authenticator are starting to loose their stuff (unconfirmed) All you do is address it with an ingame spam, to change our passwords often (wonder why you don't advertise the 2F since a lot of ppl never visit the forums or website) WE are the ones paying for your bold statements in your "fighting the good fight" announcement. It sure seems like you pissed off the wrong people this time. While you think about how to contain this, please understand that players who had their accounts hacked and lost everything (especially end game players) are more likely to attempt to purchase gold in order to restore their characters. By all means ban them if they do, that is not the point. The point is that it is an exponential problem. IE: Guy gets hacked and loose everything, buy gold to purchase some stuff back, another guy get hacked to provide said gold....see Where I am going with this? If you really trust the 2F authenticator system, then why not make it mandatory to use? Disable all accounts that does not have it by the end of the week (or any other date at your discretion) Why does YOUR watchdog not pick up when accounts are logged in from another country and "softban/prompt for pw change, them automatically? But when a guy travels to another country on vacation and log in from there he have to post in ban appeal section to get his account back. That being said YES account security IS our own responsibility! But somewhere along the lines even an unique account name and strong password gets brute forced, from a different county and no warning lights go off in Elysium HQ? And don' give us bull that it was "the other projects that leaked/sold" Many of the hacked players here have never played there. Good for you, how does that help the ppl who A. Never heard about 2F because they don't follow the site news, twitter or forums? B. Those who got hacked b4 2f was an option? C. ppl that claim the where hacked even while using 2f? Put on your thinking cap and re-read my post, it's not a QQ that >I< got hacked. It's about how we, as a community get more people to use 2F (if it indeed is secure) and how we remove those pesky goldsellers and hackers. Which will take a combined effort, and frankly a bit more constructive comments and thinking, than "2F is there to be used" But feel free to continue posting replies that have exactly 0% value to anyone, except your own ego and polishing your 20-20 hindsight, that they can be properly ignored.

Nope, there is talk about Elysium being leaked, the other just sold thier databases. 2F have been up for a 1½ week and probably less than 1% uses the website, forums or follow them on twitter. The ingame spam would be a great place to advertise it.

I just realized you wrote "world chat" and not "trade chat" The private created channels such as world and blackmarket etc. should be fixed just by leaving and entering them again.

Every time you log out an image of your character is stored (what blizzard uses to restore players in the old days) And one of the oldest dupes worked with this save to reproduce items. Stuff don't go missing because the server has a hickup, maybe if you pull the powercord to the entire building, and blow up the UPS just prior, you may see a couple items lost here or there. But certainly not becuse of a normal restart or maintenance. All my players where heartstoned, even the lvl 9 lock with 10g and 4x 16 slot bags But this one they didn't bother to run to brill to vendor and send bags to "theryge" from the guild LOVE GAMES BY US who was selling my other 18ish 16 slot bags on the AH at dumping prices. Funny thing is, that i remember logging out in brill, which makes me think the process is automated/botted. And happens just after YOU log out yourself, because nobody in the guild could recall i had logged in during the night i was hacked. I honestly believe there is a security breach revolving around the time when everyone is trying to log into the game, i distinctively recall having major issues logging in after a restart, disconnects when logging into players (after getting on game server) but since i got hacked i've had no problems at all.

You need to log out of the control panel b4 clicking the link provided in the mail.

Here is what i did 1./leave trade -->Join trade (while being in a major city) test if it works. else repeat and proceed to step 2 2. ---> without using /trade-city exit the major city and ensure you get the "left trade-city system message" Ensure you get the "joined general chat #location" 3. ----> /leave trade only if you didn't get the "left trade-city" system message 4----->logout (yes the 20 sec is a pain, but control your ADD Damnit! ) 5.---->now at tab out and go to your wow folder, make sure that WDB and WTF are not write protected (rightclick-properties "write protection" unchecked (you can do this b4 you start this procedure as well) 6---> Exit game. 7 ---->Re-enter the game as normal 8--> enter major city and test /2 test If fail then /join trade test /2 test If this fails, repeat but delete WDB and WTF folders (rename to WDBold WTFold alternately) in step 6 *note if you can't use /s /w either you have been muted by the game, create an ingame ticket ?help request ---->ssues GM can assist with---->stuck---->still not working page a GM.

Well that's because your password hasn't been changed, that's why you could log in with it ;) 2F authenicator works the way, that when you enter your password on the login screen of the game, a small window pops up, looking like a small calculator with scrambled numbers. You then open your phone and the app for your device, get a code from the app which you punch in on the "calculator" and hit "enter" The game have then verified that you are you, and not some mean gold seller. The setup process require you scan a QR code in a mail that is sent to you, or enter a looong code sent to you by mail. effectively verifying you as account owner.

/agree Also the control panel was broken and there where no way to change your password until early this year. The ingame command is still not working for me, and alot of others, just getting a syntax error when attempting. So i literally had no way of changing my 2 upper case 2 numeric 9 char password. The 2F was offered the day, or the day after, i got hacked. @Skink took me 3½ days to get a mail stating "sorry for your loss, but we don't restore items. Account security is your responsiblity"

Sadly no. You are responisble for your account security. Change your passord (.account oldpass newpass newpass) ingame, or through the control panel on the main page of elysium-project.org. While you are there, check out the 2F authenticator, to prevent something like this happening again.

@Skink Did you petition a GM ingame? They don't seem to respond here on ingame issues.

Not strange at all, it happens to alot of ppl myself incl. They forgot to empty my mail several 100 stacks of thorium shells, and 50 stacks of bars, a dwarven handcannon i had on the AH and completely oversaw an alt with 10g and 4 16slot bags. I've too spent more than a month online /played gearing, farming, building, stacking and so on... and i can't even get my Nat Pagles extreme angler FC5000 reimbursed. As fas as i know, they restore onyxia key, class quest items such as Benediction/Rhok'delar that's it. And recently a rare gesture of an ivory raptor. I never played outside nost/elysium and did nothing to deserve this either. @Skink #feelsbadman, but join the massive amounts of ppl who lost everything because Elysium allow 10k attempts on your account without flagging it for a new pw / you used same acount/email/pw combination on one of the leaked realms. The sooner you start grinding, the faster you get back on track.

40 y/o ditto, First computer was the C64, with the tape machine somewhere back in the 80's Moved on to Amiga 500, and went hardcore online with Q3 in the late 90´s i think. Played wow since launch, and now have 2/3 of my kids playing along side me, as well as a wife, who didn't understand my love for the game for the first 10 or so years. And yes...it's good to be back!
