As stated before, for the Horde side, Trolls are supposedly the "best". But really, just play the class you prefer, in the end hunts are not primarily taken in raids for their DPS but for the MM aura, tranq shot, occasionally kiting and using traps. (And because when some hunter's gear drops someone needs to take it :-) ) Regarding survival spec, it is only viable once you accumulated more than ~430 agility on your gear which is only possible with AQ40/Naxx items and even then, the guild still needs MM hunters for the aura.
