The entire vanilla experience is tied into the long quest to get to 60. I feel this devalues the experience as a whole. just my 2 cents.

Again, 1% are banned... of that 30% give or take are hacked victims. Rest are people claiming to have been hacked because they got caught buying gold.

Dude, Divinesheep, calm your shit. Why the hell would a Dev do this? They can make gold. . . They can max a character level in less than 10 seconds (gm commands) and they are actively going after gold sellers. Dude, put your tin foil hat down and kindly piss off from the server. Combat swords all the way. You never HAVE to stealth so it takes away the requirement to slowly stalk your mobs to maximize dmg. Plus the 5/5 sword spec talent is very nice and saved my butt more times then I can count when I accidentally pulled too much. Speaking of, this also gives you blade fury which, lets be honest, is the greatest thing for leveling since sliced bread.

I don't know the guild or any of its members. To be completely honest I stopped playing for a bit around 2 weeks ago and don't even have a level capped toon there yet. I just figured, since you were acting self-righteous, that I would chime in with my 2 cents on the childish display you were so kind to grace us with. Ceoddyn, you have got to be the saltiest guy in the wow private server community.... and that's saying a lot. First off from what I have seen on this post you are not the one in the right. If you did 0 dispels and failed at healing on Chromagnus, and raged over being called out for it - You deserved the boot. In 40 man raids there is no room for someone to be bad and have a shit attitude. Furthermore, they never admitted to sharing accounts. They clearly said they boosted him which to me equates to farm running instances to get him leveled faster. Congratulations though on showing the entire server that you are toxic to say the least. I personally will never group with you after seeing all of this. Most people don't realize in vanilla your reputation mattered and that many people would blacklist you for your actions. There was always enough players to replace someone. If you are going to be toxic to this level... you better be a GOD like player so people will consider tolerating it.... and even then you are walking a line. Where exactly did they say the leak was on their end? They very specifically said that IF YOU USED THIS SAME USER NAME AND PASSWORD ON ANOTHER SERVER to change it immediately because ANOTHER SERVER had been hacked and info leaked. Jesus kid, even if you were banned incorrectly, at this point I feel its better you don't have your account. All of this over a level 15 rogue..... That takes maybe 4 hours if you are slow to get.

I understand this, but at the same sense anyone can download a program to spoof where you are IP wise. What this causes is player 1 claims hack by player 2, but really is using one of these programs which shows it was another country. Admins then give all items and gold back to player 1, who was never truly hacked to start with thus giving more gold to the same people they are trying to stop. I have yet to hear a GM remove a ban, and from what I have seen and understood, they really take it seriously when they ban someone. again, best of luck to you and sorry it happened but be happy that it wasn't a raid geared 60 and was just a 15.

First off, I have always been on the side of "If you were banned, no matter how much fuss you make about how you did nothing wrong, you messed up." That being said, I see ban waves come through a lot and it seems excessive. Mind you I am not used to a pserver that is as populated as this one is, but I cant help but wonder what kind of percentage of people who claim that it's an error, actually are proven right? Vanilla was always a major grind and even though I am only 36 I feel the amount of time committed was valuable and am just getting a little worried. I have seen MANY times where a GM has chimed in on someone claiming it was a false ban and proved the way it was done even (gold selling) and amounts with dates so I would love to believe this is 10% or less of the player base that is incorrectly banned even though that's a 1 in 10 chance.

Cool, just wanted some reassurance on it since the forums are constantly flooded with "I did nothing wrong" and I just started to feel uneasy thinking maybe I was wrong for saying/thinking that they are guilty.

What they look for when banning for boxing is if the characters are on follow, and if they are obviously being controlled by the same player. Yes, Follow is considered mulit-boxing, so this means that if they are with you, you can AT NO TIME, use follow or you can risk a ban. I asked this same question because my wife plays wow and I am working on getting my teenager into it.

If your account was used to spam gold selling... they wont restore it for you. The common response is "It is your responsibility to protect your account". This is because every person who has ever been banned for this (correctly or not) has said "It wasn't me I must have been hacked". Lucky for you its only 15 levels so not a major loss.

Um, this is a horrible idea, especially in vanilla where blues sometimes were better then purples in many cases. Just because someone is full purple doesn't make them properly geared imo. in Wrath when GS came out it was useful to a degree because all purple gear was better then blues so GS was a semi-accurate gage of what experience the person had.
