Hey everyone, I am new here for the first time on a wow private server due to being fed up with Blizzard, and decided to roll on the PVE server (90% decided lol). On retail I played on pvp servers since the beginning and i don't have very fond memories from vanilla/TBC areas (corpse camping fun times ) so I am almost entirely sure that I want to play on the pve realm xD. I do have a few pleasant, epic wpvp moments in memory but not sure if i could endure it these days and I am pretty sure I would have a REALLY hard time convincing my wife to give vanilla a go on pvp realm ^^ ...though fighting at crossroads and in other areas was pretty bad попа at lvl 60/70, lvling/ gathering was hell. Anyway... Are the two factions even in pve progress? I know servers just reopened and things are chaotic atm, but while I see pvp server constantly on a 50/50 balance, the pve one is usually with 10% more alliance on EU time, up to 15-18% more alliance during US time so I am concerned about finding fast-ish dungeon groups/ plenty of guilds for raids once the hype dies down and the servers stabilize. Maybe you can tell me how the balance worked on old Nost? not sure how reliable numbers are with servers freshly reopened... especially with lots of people in starting zones atm (tirisfal glades holy mother of clusterваууs) I ask this question because I am really torn between undead mage and dwarf hunter but i think it would suck if horde ends up having far lower numbers, therefore fewer pve activities. Any help/advice appreciated guys PS. What's up with russian (i think) words instead of certain words that appear on forum? Is that the website's profanity filter? or maybe it it is giberish but it does look like cyrilic

Yeah I read about it, but isn't fresh just pvp? For an accurate measure i would have to fool around for 1-2 months till the hype dies down and then I see who sticks where xD but hey, i'm hyped too and want to play, but this is vanilla and lvling is an epic challenging experience so these days I kinda want to avoid unnecessary re-rolling. I'm sure I am making a "big" deal out of nothing, just having a few perfectionists' bugs in my head that want that perfect planning/start in everything lol

@Thicshake Yeah, from that aspect I am looking towards mage because I remember hunters weren't that great back in the day but I was also afraid about mages being all over the place I just want to know if factions will stay balanced at max lvl long term... based on the past experience of you veterans. I would prefer horde just because I REALLY miss it (being alliance for 7-8 years aprox)... just seeing old Orgrimmar cheered me up, the new one is an atrocity @gotmilk Again, I am not that much worried about general population. I am sure it will stay healthy enough. I am just worried a bit about faction balance... dont want horde to end up being 30% or less... This was a pretty common problem on retail... even on realms that used to be 50/50 and now they are 80% alliance.

@gotmilk I know, I did spend 45 min to log in yesterday. Thing is, a lot of this might be just hype... A LOT of people, like me, only heard about nostalrius' existance when they were shut down and had a talk with blizz. So now we have a lot of old nost players restarting and a lot of new people giving vanilla a shot. Populations might end up being cut in half within a month and more later down the road. For example on retail I play on Outland, very high pop realm that on launch of every expansion you get 5000+ que in first 2 weeks, then 1500+ que for a month and after 3-4 months since launch bam... from full to medium population... why? Hype.
