<Ale and Axe> is a a casual-friendly, mature, roleplaying, player versus player, guild on the Elysium PvP server.
Can I join your guild?
We welcome everyone regardless of background or experience, providing they are mature, respectful and willing to learn how to roleplay.
Our guild style does not restrict what you do as an individual, you are not expected to raid three out of seven nights with 33% attendance. The more you put in to your character and the guild, the more you will get back in return.
What to Expect?
Our focus is RP-PvP. Our aim is to encourage and help foster an open world roleplay community that welcomes multiple roleplay guilds.
We believe that roleplay is a form of acting and that without an audience then it is stifled. Roleplay has the ability to connect the dots and make a community long lasting. When done right, roleplay gives reason to raiding and PvP beyond loot and gear.
Our guild therefore believes in always being "in character" in /say, /yell and /emote, whilst "out of character" in all other channels such as /guild, /whisper, /raid, /party etc. We do not believe in the need for ((curly brackets)) or corrections to spelling mistakes. This is not about perfection, it is about encouraging creativity.
To some this notion of IC in /say and OOC in /guild might be an upside down concept, but it fits with our belief that roleplay should be done in the open world, just like PvP. If roleplay is hidden behind /guild or /raid then you have a captive audience that does not encourage outsiders to join in.
Community Engagement
So if you see the <Ale and Axe> tag above someone's head, know that they may well be a raid junkie or a PvPer, but that you can also approach them "in character" in /say and they will be happy to roleplay with you.
We sincerely look forward to people joining us, our guild working with other guilds on stories and plotlines, and most of all, entertaining everyone regardless of experience or playstyle.
