Had this issue yesterday, logging onto today was fine however so I thought they'd solved it. However I just got a completely random DC (no lag preceding it at all) and now I can't log back on. Rather ваууed seen as I was in the middle of a dungeon, but hey ho.

Time to play some WoW after a long hard day before going out to training... oh wait no, вау that, let's make it so next to no one can log on :D

Been getting a lot of random DCs recently, playing on a constant 30-40ms and then out of nowhere the screen will freeze and I'll get DCed, really starting to become irritating. Help would be appreciated.

So warning your guildies about the system is a silly joke? I made a silly joke the first 2 times, yes, but the third time I literally just typed 'gold selling website'. I'm afraid the chat already is ваууing insufferable and the system is doing nothing to fix it, like I said while I was muted I got numerous gold selling messages, about 10 of them (and that's messages, not individual whispers) from the same ваууing guy. I'm not sure if you are some kind of troll, but if you truly think this system isn't fundamentally flawed then you have serious issues. The community themselves have done a better job of dealing with the spam than the elysium staff have in the form of spamthrottle, and if leaving innocent players muted, effectively stopping them from playing the game, while the gold selling bots get to spam away isn't a reason to remove the system then I'm really not sure what is. And next time when someone is looking for answers on a rather serious issue don't reply like a patronising cunt.

I got 'auto-muted' for about an hour yesterday after jokingly telling my friend to go buy gold from a website to afford a twink item, and then again earlier today for typing something similar in guild chat after a guildy was talking about an expensive item. After the second mute I noticed the pattern and warned everyone in the guild not to type any URLs for website potentially involved in gold selling, and subsequently got muted again. Obviously I was more than a little frustrated and haven't been on since, seen as the third time all I did that could possibly have triggered the auto-mute was mention the words 'gold selling'. If I can't even warn my friends about how not to get muted then what the hell am I actually allowed to type? As much as I am aware this is a free server and everyone behind it is a volunteer, it would be rather nice to actually be able to communicate with other players considering it's a ваууing MMO and not get muted for saying a seemingly innocuous phrase. Oh, and might I add that within the second hour long mute I got the exact same message from the same player about 10 times, so whatever system is in place does not work one bit.

I had the same thing the other day, it went away as suddenly it came, and all of a sudden it came back today. Really really frustrating, never had any problems like this on old nostalrius...

Nothing I type appears in chat, I've tried deleting my chat cache, disabling my addons, reloading ui, etc etc but nothing happens. I logged in and it was working fine for about 30 seconds and then all of a sudden it just stopped working. Would really appreciate help. EDIT: it's working again now out of nowhere.

Realmname was just 'Nostalrius' in my config.wtf file, changed that to Nostalrius PvP and after a few attempts I was able to login again. Thanks Mimma!

Got DCed in game about an hour ago, have been trying to log back in ever since and have had the same problem as OP. Furthest I got was the character selection screen where I got the loading characters message before being DCed again. I've tried changing my realmlist around, deleting my WTF and WBD files, made sure it's not somehow become blacklisted on my firewall, etc etc. Read through all the main forum posts regarding connection issues and they've been little to no help. Even though it most likely won't have anything to do with it, I noticed there were a hell of a lot more gold sellers and chinese toons online today than normal, so maybe that's overloading the server or something? Honestly not sure what to do atm, help would be appreciated.
