<Breakthrough> Ninja Looting DKP Guild
Ravid replied to edi's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Every time I see this guild they give me shit because way back we parted ways. Tbh I hardly remember these guys, just their name. Whatever the reason was, to have a community that encourages flaming someone 6 months after they leave is childish; at this point all they are is toxic. Throw in this shady shit and there's no reason left to be a part of this guild. Keep a wide berth. -

Carrion Swarmers skinnable? (Dire Maul North)
Ravid posted a topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Okay, so I've been researching if Carrion Swarmers are skinnable in DM:N and the general consensus is that they are. If this is a bug I'll go report it, but I'm pretty sure it's just another underhanded move to nerf DM farming. I have many issues with this. There are around 3 bug packs of 12 bugs pulled in DM. 36 bugs x 5s each is around 2g less per run. We're talking around 10g less an hour. Firstly, it wasn't addressed in any patch notes. If we're going to start doing stuff like this without even being up front about it, that's a major trust issue with the community. https://elysium-project.org/bugtracker/issue/1980 Secondly, this isn't a nerf to DM farming, it's a nerf to skinners as we are the only profession affected by this. If this is confirmed, I honestly don't have a reason to keep skinning and can safely go Alchemy or something more useful. 25 dogs per clear isn't justifiable, especially with your continued nerfs to Dire Maul. We picked skinning specifically to make more money off of beast mob kills, that's almost exclusively what the profession exists for. Thirdly, leather is a needed item, especially once the server hits AQ patch. Leather kits are used for many CC rep quests, the war effort, etc. It is a trade good on par with rune cloth. If we're nerfing leather, nerf all cloth drops, mining nodes and herb spawns to keep in the spirit. Why is skinning focused; it's already one of the lowest gold makers in comparison to the other trades. It seems as if this issue has never been addressed by the staff and this point it feels as if it's on purpose. It's time for an official response. With recent actions this post does not belong in Bug Reports at this time. Sources Method I use, minus being able to skin the bugs obviously. https://youtu.be/-BzgCKdB1ag http://db.vanillagaming.org/?npc=13160 https://vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?npc=13160#skinning -
Carrion Swarmers skinnable? (Dire Maul North)
Ravid replied to Ravid's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
If you read it, this post was asking whether this is intentional or not. If it isn't, it warrants a bug report. The one I mentioned was to show that this issue has been around for a long time and has never been addressed. -
There's a quest called Message to the Wildhammer in the Hinterlands. I see the quest giver; see the yellow exclamation mark but I can't seem to get the quest from him. I also can't get anyone to share the quest to me because it's greyed out. I looked up the quest and it had no prerequisites. I'm thinking this is a bug, there shouldn't be any reason for me not to get the quest. Here's the quest and a screenshot of what's going on, any ideas? http://db.vanillagaming.org/?quest=7841 https://goo.gl/photos/FcTh8B9NE8Hv3qkZ7

Carrion Swarmers skinnable? (Dire Maul North)

Bump -
Nah I actually like to know what's going on. "Technical issues" is a typical dismissive bullshit term and I for one fuckin hate it. This downtime isn't typical for Elysium, so actually coming out and calling an act of God an act of God is more than appropriate in this case. I hate when the server is down, like most of you. But when I heard the actual reason my mindset changed immediately to "take your time, that sucks" from "WTF is going on this is retarded!" Shit happens. This is some crazy shit. What's your problem dude?

Carrion Swarmers skinnable? (Dire Maul North)
Ravid replied to Ravid's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
On a side note: The mob pack seen at 2:24 on the above video has much more mobs than seen so that running behind the pillar to pull the pack at 2:29 isn't possible. The pack can still be pulled, but there is an additional Gordok Enforcer in-game that pulls with the dog pack 25-75% of the time. It is still handleable by an adept mage but is annoying. Just do away with him. It (apparently) isn't blizzlike and it's annoying to be kept in combat after this pull (killing him isn't feasible). The only reason this mob seems to be there is to screw with mages. I'll post screenshots later of the differences. -
On the huge crash on Friday it took an hour. We're well beyond that right now I have no idea what the issue is. No ETA from them just a curt nod that it's down 15 min after it crashed on Discord an hour and a half ago.

Used to have this issue with Anathema; it being down while Elysium was happy online. Now I switch to Elysium, and it's down with Ana being happily online. Whatever you guys did with the last patch broke this server.

Inflation implies new money being created. More money = inflation. DME drops herbs, herbs vendor for nothing. DME nerf = less herbs = more expensive herbs = average player being poorer. DME grey drops = new money = inflation. If you want to fight inflation nerf the greys, not the herbs that keep them cheap. Gromsblood is sitting at 75s EACH, plaguebloom 75s EACH. You think 75s/ea herbs are affordable to the average player? I'm a mage with a lot of money but I'd never spend 75s for a gromblood lmao, I'd farm it myself. Nerfing lashers across the board = less herbs AND less greys. So you now just did a double whammy to the server. Also, lashers are something everyone can farm (more or less), not just mages. So now the average joe-shmo shaman/warrior/etc. gets less money. Mages make a lot of money off of DMN skins. So you nerfed wolves across the board, but the skins are still the same (and they better stay that way). Bugs are still the same. Skins + bugs = new money = inflation. Most mages I know farm DMN, espcially if they have skinning like me. On a side note, rogues aren't the biggest source of inflation by far. I had no idea that they nerfed lockboxes AND pickpocketing. That's fucking stupid, coming from a mage. A huge source of income for rogues are those two sources. If they decide to go even more after mages and nerf DMN more, mages just move to BRD farm. It's fucking whack a mole you aren't going to win. If you want to fight gold selling then fight gold selling. IP ban China, there goes most of it. Stop making life hell for regular players and harder for mages.

This was from my comment in the most recent Development Update announcement. I feel like the lesser known issues you are probably aware of already, and I believe I have made a post here before regarding them as well. For reference here is the post: https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/50445-development-update-19072017/?do=findComment&comment=416954 I believe this is one of the biggest issues on your server right now as far as immersion and fluidity is concerned. It completely brings you out of the moment. Looting feels extremely janky and cheapens the experience down immensely. It's like admiring a gorgeous woman and just when you lean in to kiss her you notice a slight mustache. From the OP: Thank you for all you do guys.

BTW thank you for fixing that double ranged attack glitch. I'm 60 now but when I was leveling god DAMN that shit was annoying. Every ranged mob: cast....... agro. Cast next frost bolt, 2 arrows hit your face simultaneously and push your spell back 2 seconds and takes 1/3 of your hp. Every. Single. Time.

I too have a spyglass in my inventory frequently and am interested to hear the response

The biggest remaining bugs that I have seen include: 1. Caster mobs not immediately heading toward you when silenced or their single school of magic is countered. (Hesitation) 2. Polymorphed mobs will sometimes randomly agro onto a party member (usually a healer) and if not noticed, 4 shot them while still displaying a sheep model and debuff. I can't pin down the source, sometimes it happens repeatedly, sometimes not for an entire instance. 3. Trades have once again gotten janky, sometimes 3 clicks is required to successfully mate the trade. 4. Sometimes when skinning a mob the corpse becomes completely unlootable (including the skin) and can't be interacted with. I think you may have fixed it with something referenced above. and 5. Loot Issues. This is probably my most annoying bug. Loot in groups has to constantly be babied to be picked up. This means that for any given mob, for one player the greys and whites may drop, and for the rest the money will be lootable. Then we add greens to the equation. So, a. one guy loots the mob, gets his runecloth (having trashloot rights). b.That corpse then shows loot to the rest of the group as 10 silver plus a green which is then rolled on. c. Someone loots the money which is split, leaving the green. d. Then the green is rolled on. After the green is rolled on and loot is given, the corpse STILL shows as having loot to the entire group, forcing someone to loot it again to find nothing and clearing the loot indicator. This causes people having to CONSTANTLY reloot corpses over and over and over again. It is extremely annoying. Each corpse requires 3 people looting it, and then you add skinning to the equation. It is infuriating and causes people to simply give up on looting things like black dragons which skinners need to have cleared to loot. All because someone is just sick of bending down to pick up some 6 silver that the trashloot holder should have cleared already. In vanilla wow when loot was distributed by roll corpses automatically cleared themselvesof sparkles. This could be the thing bugging the skins as well. People know the corpse is empty so they skip it, but there's still a loot indicator there, prohibiting skinning. On that note, there is no chat log indicator of loot being delivered to the winner of the roll. In vanilla wow after "X won the roll for Y" there would be a follow up chat log of "X receives loot: Y". There is an additional problem; if the winner's bags are full loot privilege is not reserved for them, anyone can at the point go loot the item freely. and finally, another thing regarding loot. Scourge stones and the like are distributed on a free for all basis. Meaning, if we're both wearing Argent Dawn trinkets and you're a rogue and im a healer, you can freely loot every single scourgestone in reach, and if they're all gone before I get there (which happens 90% of the time with melee sucking up every possible stone before healers and ranged can react) there's nothing I can do about it. Melee on an average scholo or strat run probably get at the minimum 75% of the stones dropped in the instance. The only stones that are actually fair are boss stones that are rolled on. This is EXTREMELY unfair to ranged, and especially healers. As a mage, I frequently need to be drinking after pulls not worrying about how I'm gonna blink over and loot corpses before the vacuum cleaner of a rogue does. If I'm drinking I can't be looting, so I have to decide between stones or being a cohesive member of my team. I can't remember, but I highly doubt token loot (felwood corruptor's shards or whatever, scourestones, etc.) was a free for all system back in vanilla wow. It is inherently unfair to half of the group. Thank you for all your hard work, I'll leave a copy of this in your bug reporting. After my mind started jogging a little bit I remembered more and more. Please fix the loot though it is exceedingly annoying. Out of all the bugs I'd say the loot issue completely brings you out of the moment and makes you aware that this is not an official server.

Mage AoE farming nerf and profession questions
Ravid posted a topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Hello, This is my first 60 mage coming from a 60 priest main. I am enjoying the ability to AoE farm and kill elites that would be impossible as a priest. I originally picked skinning and herbing which served me well, I was around 720g at hitting 60 (first on the server). I dropped skinning for tailoring for my archmage which I now have. I recently discovered DM farming and have been doing North. I have a few questions: This is Elysium server. With the new patch making runecloth bolts isn't very valuable anymore because of the increased price. Tailoring in general is a pretty bad money maker. The only remaining reason I have to keep it is for cheap mooncloth and the bloodvine set bonus. But bloodvine is a long way off as far as timeline. Is it worth keeping a profession that does almost nothing for 2% crit sometime 6 months from now? I want to go skinning for huge GPH increases in DM and in UBRS. Also there is the pristine hide (there's your 2% crit buddy). And IF I did that, would it be worth even going around herbing anymore? DM farm would make huge money. Or should I go alch? I have a lotus. I'm trying to find the best and easiest method for making gold. Cause that's what we do. And on that same note, I heard DME was nerfed as far as farming lashers (which also isn't blizzlike). Is DME even worth farming anymore or is it bad enough to just clear DMN and that's it. One other question, are bugs in DMN skinable? If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Thanks, Ravid -
does the griefing calm down at all?
Ravid replied to Orpheus148's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Tbh it doesn't calm down until you get your epic mount. With 60% mount you will get wrecked everywhere and anywhere -
Greetings. These two issues are slightly large in scope and I'm sure there are reports on this. The first issue is that in dungeons, when a target is taunted (possibly other cases) it will continue to walk towards it's previous target even though its focus has changed to the tank. This is particularly annoying for casters because if the mobs runs past it may cause a front of target error. The other issue is that Polymorph will occasionally bug and cause the mob (while still sheeped) to agro and attack full force. So what you see is a sheep attacking the healer, dps, etc. No damage has been done to the target or else it would have broke. The only way to fix this is to resheep. Caster targets will occasionally bug when silenced and not move forward to attack melee as expected. Most of these cases are from LBRS, but I believe I've also seen this in DM and lower level instances.
