Hey all, I kinda missed the boat when Ely came out. I had IRL exams going on and couldn't be spending that time on WoW. I'd like to play because I'm starting to miss Vanilla (I was previously on Kronos but stopped playing it and it's pretty dead now.) I was just wondering if it's too late to get started? I've clearly missed the first couple of raid tiers already with MC and BWL long having been released. I think I'd be lucky to cap by AQ. If I started I'd probably play a rogue or a mage as I've never actually mained a pure dps. I guess that makes it even harder for me as those two are usually overpopulated.

OP, Elysium appears to be down right now. I and many others are experiencing the same issue - it's stuck at connected. There's no confirmation whether the entire server is down or if it's just booted a portion of us. This happened about 1 hour ago now and we're waiting a Dev/GM response. It would be nice if you could address this much larger issue please Spionada, considering there are multiple threads open.

Same problem, two other threads on this open. Not sure whether it's down or just booted a portion of playerbase. It says medium pop on realmlist.

It's been over an hour. No Dev response. Cannot log in.

You can grind, maybe not by standing in one location, but if you walk around just killing wildlife and anything you see you can grind :)

Just adding: The character copy system is the best system I've ever heard for this sort of thing: What's more, it can potentially keep the old content alive and potentially allow everybody to progress at their own pace.

It would be nice if the Devs, even if they cannot give us a time, just acknowledge via twitter that they're aware there's a problem and they're working on it :/

Thanks! I was asking because it still says the server is at med pop. Strange. Maybe because we're "connected" not "connecting" I remember a similar problem with Kronos II launch. And the devs screaming at people via twitter "STOP ALL LOGGING IN AT ONCE" yeah like that help haha

Thank you all for your posts. I have since joined and started with a Horde undead rogue, now lvl 21 and I just hit 19 on my human mage. I'm not sure which I'll main but I'm enjoying the mage a lot right now. :) I found that yeah there's absolutely billions of people, it's great

Scratch everything I wrote, I see you said winzip. What you need to do is unzip using terminal. Then drag all the folders into one main folder manually :) Also did you use bittorrent to download? For some reason that didn't work for me and I had to use utorrent.

I'm also experiencing this issue. Any help on resolving this would be greatly appreciated. I got 4 people to walk all the way to wailing caverns as alliance. Doubt they're still waiting for me :(

I'm really disappointed by this. Waited over two hours getting a group for Wailing Caverns (as Alliance) and had 4 people walk all the way there. Had to reform the group a couple of times because of leavers. We were just about to kill the goblin in the pre-instance and BAM dc.

I was dc'd from Elysium just now and cannot get back in. Whenever I try it gets stuck at "connected". I can login to other servers fine.

How about finding a guild to raid with? Won't the best guilds we well established already leaving me scraping the bottom of the barrel?

In my guild on Kronos we had 1 feral druid in our raid to act as an off tank or DPS when required. He was also useful to dispell and for a little bit of healing here and there. It was probably only "viable" to have him because everyone had Dire Maul gear with buffed (Naxx I think?) stats. Either way, it was very useful to have someone who could fulfill a variety of roles when necessary but I don't think it would have been viable in anything after Naxx. At the time it was a very interesting dynamic and it probably saved a lot of time and effort for a smaller guild like ours.

On like the 2-3rd day of Kronos a GM appeared ingame and announced through /y "If you're abusing AFK you will be banned" to give people an opportunity to stop. Then ported to every inn and banhammered everyone who was AFK. That actually helped a lot and it was fun watching half the inn disappear.

It's like a professional runner asking what workouts to do... I think you can understand the point. Admittedly I'm a little salty though because I can't get on lol

Yes. It was working fine for me until they "fixed" it. Morons.

Go to bed. On a serious note, there are many quests between Tanaris, Ferelas and Hinterlands that are linked which you will have to make many trips to complete and it's honestly not worth the time unless you need a specific item such as mallet. It's common knowledge that grinding is far better at this level and that Vanilla does not have "enough" quests. I find it hard to believe that someone who has already reached level 45 didn't foresee this. I get the impression you just made this post to brag or something.

Hello, I saw the tweet about bans for "any form of Anti-AFK system abuse" and would like a clarification of exactly what that extends to. I'm assuming it includes the usual macros, botting and putting a weight on w, anything that doesn't require user input. My question is whether this extends to anti-AFK "abuse" by user input - i.e. tabbing in occasionally to move the mouse. I ask this because due to the massive login queue I cannot play when I want to and the queue time estimates are not always accurate so I can't just say "ok great I'll queue for 8 hours and then it pops, perfect" due to the inherent inaccuracy of the system and the server restarts sometimes giving me the choice between early login or back of the line. The latter happened tonight so I sat at an inn for about 2 hours (I was lucky when tabbing back in) so I just cleared afk every 25 minutes or so to stay logged in. If I had any control over when I logged on ofc I wouldn't do this as it occupies a spot and extends the queue and it also requires my attention. Could a Dev please confirm whether or not this constitutes as "abuse" please as I really don't want to get banned for an unknown wrongdoing nor "abuse" your server in any way. Thanks, Sewerpants
