Could we get 59 twinks going on this server?
Papalok replied to Bebban's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
59 twinks are such a fundamentally terrible idea but best of luck to you I guess. I think you're going to have a really hard time finding enough people to surrender one level below max, not to mention having them all on at the same time to fill a queue. -
Alliance groups on the PvP servers are a bunch of no-nut pussies. Tried doing the Excelsior quest in STV the other day with a full group. A single lvl 37 Horde priest kept trying to troll us on the tag and I was the only one in the group trying to do anything about it--difficult since I was 5 levels lower but my group members were all his level. Since he was neither killed nor touched by ANY of them for that matter, he grabbed a couple buds in Grom'gol and ended up wiping us further up the coast. Would have finished the quest faster if these people weren't gutless cunts. I've never had such a huge urge to reroll the other faction.

I've leveled over a half dozen hunters on private server and retail vanilla. I've leveled BM more than once and it's faster on a PvE server -or- a PvP server if you are leveling in a low density zone. It is THE faceroll spec out of all classes when it comes to questing and this is why a hunter is usually the first level 60. The main reason for this is that it is the least gear-dependent spec in the game because your pet's damage is not affected by your gear. However, the myth that the other specs aren't viable for leveling is pure nonsense. Benefits of BM: Least gear dependent spec in the game. Least mana dependent spec for hunters. Lowest amount of effort required of any spec in the game. Sit on your ass and auto-attack, if that's a benefit to you. Here are my issues with BM on Elysium PvP. The population on Elysium's servers are so high that regular PvP encounters are inevitable after you leave the safety zones. Anyone with a brain will destroy you in PvP 100% of the time. A CCed pet makes you completely worthless (and your pet doesn't get it's CC immunity until you hit level 40). Your survivability is garbage and no amount of confidence will save your corpse. No SS, no deterrence, no hawk eye (increased range), no imp wing clip. gg Even with Dash I've noticed my pet has issues keeping up with players and landing attacks, which might be due to my latency but either way this gets irritating quickly. Here are my issues with leveling 1-60 as BM in general: BM is a worthless spec at level 60 in both raiding and PvP. Leveling it exclusively makes you a liability at level 60 when you actually have to learn a real spec. It's boring as all hell. A pet holding aggro effectively is not exclusive to BM. A cat with growl and the most updated rank of Bite can hold aggro against anything except an Aimed Shot crit, in which case it won't matter anyway since the mob will be dead in 1-2 globals. MM/Surv will take a little longer to level with, but it's not worlds apart if you're already following an optimal leveling guide. I'm leveling MM/Surv and I'm ahead of everyone else in my guild who has put in similar hours except for the mages and BM hunters. The biggest upside is MM/Surv is actually fun and engaging, it's very useful in PvP, and to a degree reflects the kind of spec you will be playing at max level.

Total newbie feeling overwhelmed >.<
Papalok replied to Enen's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Unbind turn character from A and D and change them to strafe (pivoting is disgusting and people will know if you do it). Also, while I firmly believe there is always some extenuating circumstance to justify backpedaling, I always suggest to newbies that they unbind S from movement at least until they learn how versatile strafing is. Edit-By changing strafing from Q/E to A/D, you open up Q & E to be used for key abilities/CCs. -
4 reasons to roll Nostalrius-PvP over Elysium
Papalok replied to Lifealert's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
If he's using the same name then he rolled a mage and btw he's garbo, I split his buttcheeks a dozen times while he tried to gank lowbies at Maestra's Post. If he sees anyone at his level he blinks away in a pants-shitting frenzy. -
After weeks of thinking, I have found a solution to the Que problem.

I'd seriously put money on half the people involved in any argument about US presidential candidates being from outside the US. -
"you don't meet the requirements for that quest"
Papalok replied to noilliz's topic in Help & Support
Battle of Hillsbrad Part 7 requires level 30. Not sure about the other one but that's exactly what that message means. I don't recall it ever being connected to anything other than player level. -
I'm level 30 and have played every day except the day it launched, so yes it seems that it works.

It means your level isn't high enough for the quest. -
Ah yes, more of the "so many bans for no reason" and then it's going to be discovered that all of you were using anti-AFK scripting.

How long is chat ban for using the dollar sign?
Papalok posted a topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I accidentally got myself muted in general chat for using the dollar sign that was in no way connected to actually selling something, it was part of a joke in a conversation. I now realize it was foolish as the Elysium team tries to combat gold sellers and stuff, but I was just wondering if anyone knows how long this chat ban usually lasts? It's been at least a half hour and I still can't talk and I have some BoE items that I'd really like to sell :\ -
I live in San Francisco and I'm consistently between 160-170ms. I can't remember what it was on old Nost, but my experience with this server is much smoother. I actually stopped playing on old Nost for about 6 months because the latency issues made PvP borderline unplayable. Of course, that was right when the huge influx of Chinese players started and peak server pop. would reach 20K. I'm pretty sure a different ISP/faster connection is not going to improve your latency beyond what it is now. 50 down/20 up is plenty. I just got back from my parents' place in Colorado and was playing on my sister's crappy laptop using a slower wireless connection and I still had better latency than I do here. You could try Leatrix Latency Fix or do as I did and edit the registry files yourself (make sure you know what you're doing) but honestly the change for me was minimal at best.
