As a Nostalrius PvE server twink, I encourage players of both factions to take a shot at making a twink character for a 10-19 bracket. Players usually think twinking is expensive and while there is a lot of truth to that, twinking is not a result, it's a process. No one will ever have a perfect twink because even if you go through an effort of applying every BiS enchant to every BiS item there are still buffs and consumables which you are supposed to have up permanently to be a "perfect twink", and I've never seen anyone drink Elixir of Giant Growth every 2 minutes while having an Onyxia buff every Battleground. I'm saying this, because I know a lot of people, who would like to try twinking, get discouraged by how expensive they think it is. But in fact all you need to be better geared than most players you'll ever encounter on the BG (at least on Elysium PvE) is a good WC or DM run, certain dungeon and normal quests completed, and maybe (but not necessarily) some free gold to buy the cheapest BiS items. This is exactly how my character got into twinking, it was supposed to be my main (and it still is, I don't even have a higher level character), but a good collection of items I was able to acquire through completely normal means (non-boosted WC runs, quests, and lucky AH buys) made me stay at 10-19. And I was happy enough at 700hp and using a +7 sta +7 int +7 spi staff as a warrior, cause I couldn't get my hand on anything better. Heck, I didn't even have a weapon enchant on my current Mr Smite's Hammer until today. Even if I didn't get help from a wonderful Horde twinking community, which I never even asked for - several people just offered it to me (I would especially like to thank Feelmyhot in this regard) - even if that didn't happen, I would still go to WSG with non-BiS BoP blues and greens with no enchants on, and still find enjoyment in planning my future upgrades no matter how far they would be. Think in advance while leveling, plan your way by looking up items on db.vanillagaming.org, start avoiding unnecessary experience as early as possible, try to get into WC/DM as early as possible and most of all, just do BGs in any gear you were able to get. Make those games pop up and even if one side has more "perfect" twinks than the other, geared in normal WC/DM blues players have more chances to turn a battle than those geared in RFC/quests items. In the end, challenging battle - win or loss - is always more fun, than a 3 min stomping (or a 30 min GY farm) - for both sides. So get as good gear as you are able to (many BiS items are not even BoEs) and come.
