    i have tried registering with 3 different emails, didn't get activation email on either of them.

    And that suggests that people not peoing able to confirm their emails is intentional, a way to try and counter the queues.

    No, you are not banned when you create account....You just need to confirm your email address, But, that's a different problem because right now noone is receiving confirmation emails, i assume they are not sending them intentionally because of the queue problems right now.
