Lets Talk About 180g for Epic Mount!
Jupes85 replied to drecksbug's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Well this isn't retail, so that's irrelevant. And who cares about cheaper mounts. The issue isn't cheaper mounts, it's the riding skill going from ~150-200g pre 1.4 to ~900g post 1.4. It's too early for this change. It should not have been implemented until much later, when the vast majority of the playerbase has already purchased their epic riding. Instead of having most of the playerbase on an even playing field for the majority of the realm's life, they basically gave a huge bonus to a tiny percentage, and screwed everyone else over. -
Lets Talk About 180g for Epic Mount!

Major disappointment. Finally having enough gold to buy your epic mount is always a major topic and nostalgic element when people think about the Vanilla experience, and is a testament to how brutal things could get in Vanilla. Nothing was given to you. But alas, this completely voided this entire premise. What a joke. -
It's awful out there. Thankfully I'm about half way into 59, so I'll probably slowly be able to grind those few bars left, but it's still brutal. As others have mentioned, I'm more annoyed at the mount issue. Every level 60 has their epic mount, and puts the rest of us at such a disadvantage, not only because we can't run away, but because we won't be able to do so until WE pay the full 1k. Such disappointment.

Pretty much every 60 has an epic now. Noticed it today after not being on for a few days, and I imagine it's because they bought the cheap skill pre-patch. It's pretty lame.

What you retail players need to undertand about "Nina Looting" of BoE's
Jupes85 replied to Trummp's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Isn't what this whole topic is about ? That the value of an item makes it justifiable to roll on because it can be flipped for gold ? Maybe I missed the point of the topic. -

So I'll ask again : Where does it end ? Sometimes you can justify Needing on an item to flip it on the AH, but sometimes it's not okay ? What's the magic number ? 10g+ ? 100g+ ? I'm not expecting an actual reply to this, but I fail to see how you think my post made no sense. I never said that you NEED to roll need on everything, I just said that by the logic that I quoted, you COULD justify rolling need on anything because everything has a value that can be turned into an upgrade. So again. Where does it end ? -

The question becomes 'Where does it end?' Everything in the game has some sort of value, so by that logic, everything can ultimately be flipped into a future upgrade that you can equip. That's the problem with this way of thinking. Whether it's a high end epic or a low end green or something in between, you can always justify needing on everything because it'll be used as future upgrades. It encourages greedy behaviors. This is a video game where most memories are made from friendships and goofy things, not from selling a BoE for a good chunk of gold. -
I think like most people, all I care about is having a stable and reliable experience. That being said, I think we've all been to some degree guilty of overhyping Elysium/Nostalrius as completely transparent, honest and I suppose pretty revolutionary projects, but realistically, they are private servers that are gonna deal with corruption and buggy mechanics like all the other projects. I can see people being upset at the idea, but it's probably unrealistic to assume that this was never gonna happen. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the post. I just don't think you ever wanna feed fuel to a fire. You never wanna give people any more ammunition. But it is what it is. Some people are gonna love it, others hate it, and the vast majority won't even see it.

Why is Elysium so GD overcrowded?
Jupes85 replied to Into's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
People are always drawn towards where everyone else is. One major misconception, and you are as guilty as everyone else, is assuming that ZK has virtually no players, or at least not enough to make it a fun experience, when in fact, the server feels very lively. STV is a constant warzone, and I can't even imagine how it is on Elysium. It must be virtually impossible to do anything. -
My wand does 29 dps, and character screen shows 38 dps, so it seems to be working okay :)

Whether it's against the rules or not doesn't change the fact that it's a huge douchebag move to not only grief, but do so against players of your own faction. The question shouldn't be whether it's against the rules or not, it should be whether you're a douchebag or not. And the answer is Yes, you most definitely are a douchebag.

Delay/lag on stance shift (Rogue, Druid, Warrior)
Jupes85 replied to Busdriverx's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Certain abilities are worse than others. I rolled a Priest and found that instant casts were(or at least felt) the worst. I never got used to it. Went on Zeth'Kur and it seems non existent there. -
Depends what people are looking for. Let's be realistic though, while a lot of players are looking for that Vanilla experience, a lot of them have been accustomed to pretty easy leveling on retail for a long time now, so I can see that having 50 people in on area waiting for a mob is less daunting than having to actually talk to people before hand to form a group, which is why a lot of people are probably afraid to leave Elysium, even though it's really not at all a true vanilla experience, at least not the leveling one.

While the queues aren't a huge issue most of the time anymore, it's that damn nagging latency that did me in on Elysium. Everything is delayed on top of your original latency, and that's so annoying to me. People do have a tendency to go where everyone else is playing, so as long as the queue stays low, more players may choose Elysium over ZK.

Our official response to Nostalrius — Elysium will prevail!

No, if you transferred your character with the tokens, you're fine. But for those that didn't, then their characters are gone. -
If people don't reroll, then no it won't change anything. I imagine transfers might happen at some point down the road, though as someone mentioned above, it wouldn't be fair right now for those that DID drop their level 15-25 characters to reroll. I'm level 20 and I'v been on the fence about it, kind of waiting things out and see what the queue looks like in a couple weeks.

Are you asking if he's allowed to get mad ? The competition for tagging is pretty ferocious out there, so people are on edge. You probably should have just ignored him though instead of feeding him like that.
-
Ya, it's laggier than what your latency bar indicates. Vanilla servers aren't meant to hold 10k players at a time, so I imagine that's what the problem is. My latency is at about 100-120ms but it certainly feels higher, especially when interacting with NPCs.

Will the Que situation improve over time?
Jupes85 replied to DirtyD's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
That wouldn't make much sense. It's pretty common to get disconnected while in the queue. That's really all it is. -
When you log on Elysium you play on the 1.12.1 version of the game. You won't be seeing talent tree changes like you did throughout the history of vanilla WoW. All they're doing is releasing major content patches on the same pace as it was released in classic. Certain features need to be locked until the relevant content is out, for example the 8 to 16 debuff change, otherwise it creates major issues in terms of cheesing through content.

After the servers came back up, I was able to reach the character screen pretty fast. I clicked Enter World, then ran to the kitchen to make myself a quick breakfast and when I came back ten minutes later the game had completely shut down. Weird. And now I can't connect at all.

Retail had this sort of issue for the first year of release.
