Just went from 6 to midnight

I'm not sure what planet you're living on bro. There is a 10.5k queue right now. The server cap is 11500ish. Anything higher than that, the server becomes unstable from what I've experienced. There IS a need for a second server even if you don't include the 3kish people that are sitting afk at their character selection screen. There is something you also need to realize. During vanilla retail, server caps were set to 2500 people! Servers would be listed as "Full" at 2200, queue times would start at 2400, cap was 2500. Did you ever feel like "oh this server is dead"? No, you didn't. Having two servers would be an awesome idea because it would balance out the population on both. If you don't want to transfer to the new realm, then don't. Don't spout bad ideas/complaints towards something you know nothing about. It's not doing anyone a favor on these forums. Please and thank you.
