Personally, I want to be on a PVE server. That's my mental midget downtime; questing, farming, just random wandering or whatever I feel like at the time. If I have the choice of playing on a PVP server where I have to stick to groups or get ganked, or simply don't play, well I can go play a different non-PVP game easily enough. As far as "running a business" goes, I would think it would make more sense to have "bare minimums" to keep the loyalty of as many as players possible. Keep a minimum of one PVE and one PVP servers going. Do merges on like play style realms, but keep at least 1 of each. Sometimes you have to do the unpleasant basics to keep the overall balance for the long haul.

Yeah, we went and changed the password right away and have looked at the 2FA as well, just to be sure. The very specific types of things missing still doesn't ring as a hack to me though. That would be like a thief breaking into your house and only stealing all your left shoes, and leaving the right shoes. All things missing were in bags 2-5, not the main backpack. All things missing were crafting related in some way, with the exception of gold, which wasn't much, we're only level 33. So I don't know, seems strange. And I have to admit it rather bugs me that Admins are just marking it as invalid and leaving it without even a "we can't" or anything at all. I'm still with the original question though, anyone ever have this happen....

Strange thing wife's account. On just one character, her gold, alchemy supplies, potions she's made and other crafting supplies (cooking primarily) are missing out of her inventory. She still has all her gear, everything is still in her bank and random junk (vendor trash) in her primary backpack, along with quest items, hearthstone and various odds an ends. Other characters are unaffected. We initially thought maybe she was hacked. But hackers sell off everything, from every character. So I highly doubt it was a hack. Anyone else have something like this happen, and what did you do about it? She filed a bug report. So far the only response has been an updated status of "Invalid". Horde/Darrowshire

We've noticed this too. My wife (the one who likes to fish) has also commented that she hasn't been getting skillups, skill 146 of 150 fishing along the coast of STV.

I don't think I would support a united effort with Blizzard actually, even if they eventually decided to create a Legacy server. When they first built World of Warcraft (and the first couple expansions), they did a fantastic job and created interesting game play. Many years at $15 a month and several expansions later, they've made it clear that their core beliefs are now more geared towards seducing new subscribers with flashy gimmicks and quick endgame access along an almost singular story line, rather than working with a loyal community that already supported (paid) them. Five expansions into it, the game should be harder, not easier. Character building should be more in-depth, not more streamlined. Two examples of many. Because of Blizzard's choices, they have in my book, burnt their bridges. This is why I was thrilled to find the Elysium Project. Just my 2 copper.
