So I would not be greatly handicapped doing group content (tanking instances) as for example Fury?

Hi there, I really enjoy playing Prot and was wondering how viable it was for levelling. I know that obviously it will be slower, but I don't really care if it is slower, I'm mainly here to have fun. The question is, is it viable at all outside of group content or will I struggle even with normal mobs around my own level? Sorry if this is an obvious question, but thanks in advance.
