With no subscription fees or pay to win the obvious question arises - how does Elysium keep their servers online without any proper income from the fanbase? I actually wouldn't mind paying something.
-
If they try to bruteforce in the gameclient no authorization is needed tho?
-
Thats also something I wondered - does 2FA really improve security on the game servers? Lets say someone attempts to hack your Account: would he just try to Brute Force the password to login credentials on the Elysium Website or is there a possibility to do so Ingame? I can imagine that hackers grab Login Names on the Forum and try out if they can use them in the Account Website while Brute-Forcing the PW. Either that or the Database is not encrypted/easy to access. Can maybe someone with a bit more experience enlighten me regarding this issue? Greetz, Alex

Thanks for the reply, it's great to hear something from someone deeper involved than the most of us!

That's pretty alarming... Unfortunately I'm not an IT expert, hence the question: would it be that hard to establish a safe server database? I mean countless of websites also mange to. It's not like I have a keylogger on my PC.

So apparently I was just hacked, even though I was using a PW I wasn't using anywhere else. It is stated on the news site that the Elysium Servers are pretty much hackproof, as long as a unique password is used. However not too much was stolen, just a few gold and only on one of the characters. (Which seems a bit weird though.) After the happening I'm using 2-Factor Authentification now, but it still makes me wonder how safe the servers are. How can something like this happen?

Mind showing me where I can sign up for it? Must be blind today...

	Thank you very much! :)

Hey there! Is there a search function hidden somewhere in this community forum? I'm doing my best but I cant find one... Also - how do I create issues for the Bug Tracker? 2 Quest NPC's are missing ever since and I can't seem to report it. Greetz, Alex

I wasn't referring to the fact that I'm missing different languages being spoken - English being the main language on the server is something I really appreciate. What I meant is that the German Client lacks functionality with the Server, which results in things like the World Chat not being functionable and it would be awesome if it worked. I'm not missing a German community, I just would like to be able to play the game in German. Why all the salt? As you see I don't have any problems in expressing myself in English even a bit.
-
This is not about being able to handle anyhting, what kind of argument is this? Classic servers are about reliving the experience, and if the german vanilla was part of the experience I had as a 12 year old then so be it. I merely think it would be an improvement if multi-language support was implemented, not that its necessary.
-
Actually I'm not referring to the language spoken, but to the support of the german WoW client which is unfortunately pretty faulty right now. :/ The world chat is not working nor are a lot of plug ins... Also a lot of questgivers are talking in english while the quest itself is in german in the log.

Hey! Is there a plan to implement multilinguality on the servers? I've been playing on a german server ever since and it's not 100% the same feeling as in english. So far it's playable with the german client but many aspects like the world chat just don't work... Greetz, Alex
